  • Gentry, an SMT equipment, is a device that absorbs electronic components from the feeder and mounts them correctly on the PCB. At this time, the gantry stops in front of the camera to check whether the parts are correctly adsorbed. In this paper, we propose a method to shorten the moving time by moving the gantry without stopping in front of the camera. This method shows that the moving time is shorter than that of the conventional method by finding a path that can be moved in the fastest time among the various moving paths. The proposed method (moving-motion) reduces the gantry travel time by 20% compared to the conventional method (stop-motion).

  • The gantry of surface mount equipment (SMD) is responsible for transferring parts from the feeder to the PCB. At this time, the moving time of the gantry affects the yield. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the fastest path from the suction to the mounting to reduce the gantry travel time. This path is a case where the velocity in front of the camera is 2m/sec due to the nature of the gantry. Therefore, the trajectory graph of this case was created through simulation and the travel time was calculated. As a result, we can see that the moving time of the moving-motion method proposed in this paper is 20% shorter than the current stop-motion method.

  • This paper presents a force model of the clean tube system, which was developed as a means for transferring the air-floated wafers inside the closed tube filled with the super clean air. The recovering force from the holes for floating wafers is modeled as a linear spring and thus the wafer motion is modeled as a mass-spring-damper system. The propelling forces are modeled as linear along with the wafer location. The paper also proposes the control method to emit and stop a wafer at the center of a control unit. It shows the minimum value of the propelling force to leave from the control unit. In order to stop the wafer, it utilizes the exact time when a wafer arrives at the position to activate the propelling force. Experiments with the clean tube system built for 12 inch wafer shows the validity of the proposed model and the algorithm.

  • How to express movement in animation is one of the most important elements which form a work. An Interaction of the expression of a movement and the timing is a basic element which we need to understand and create an animation as a visual art. At this point the timing is an amount of the time required to move object or characters. This paper clears up the fundamental principle of the timing in stop-motion animations and shows Ideal timing methods by comparisons and experiments of the timings which change on a camera's angles.

  • This paper proposes a method for detection of objects temporally stop moving in video sequences taken by a moving camera. Even though the consequence of missed detection of those objects could be catastrophic in terms of application level requirements, not much attention has been paid in conventional approaches. In the proposed method, we introduce cues for consistent detection and tracking of objects: motion potential, position potential, and color distribution similarity. Integration of the three cues in the graph-cut algorithm makes possible to detect objects that temporally stop moving and are newly appearing. Experiment results prove that the proposed method can not only detect moving objects but also track objects stop moving.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematical analysis of T-stop motion by inline skate rolling speed. Six subjects were participated in the experiment(age: $35.0{\pm}3.3$ yrs, weight: $72.70{\pm}5.1\;kg$, height: $176.30{\pm}3.1\;cm$, career: $10.00{\pm}2.5$ yrs). The study method adopted 3-dimensional analysis and 2 cameras for filming to analyze the required displacement of center of mass, displacement of right and left hip joint, displacement of right and left knee joint, displacement of trunk tilt using by APAS. The results were as follows; In anterior-posterior displacement of COM, the faster rolling speed, the longer displacement at phase 2. In vertical displacement of COM, the faster rolling speed, the lower displacement. In medial-lateral displacement of COM, there was no significant on rolling speed. In angular displacement of right thigh segment, the faster rolling speed, the bigger displacement in X and Z axis. In angular displacement of left thigh segment, the faster rolling speed, the lower displacement in X axis. In angular displacement of right shank segment, the faster rolling speed, the bigger displacement in Z axis. In angular displacement of left shank segment, the faster rolling speed, the bigger displacement in X and Y axis. In angular displacement of trunk segment, the faster rolling speed, the bigger displacement in Z axis.

  • In this paper a typical problem is examined that a light, general aviation airplane, such as Cessna or Navion, in gliding turn flight shows helical-dive phenomenon when pilots try to stop the descent by using elevator only. It is known from pilot's experience that in a certain flight trim it is impossible to recover from helical-dive by using elevator only. From this study it is shown that helical-dive phenomenon is involved with longitudinal/lateral dynamics coupling to airplane's aerodynamics. Also this phenomenon consists of three parts of flight dynamics; first of all, fast longitudinal motion occurs, then is followed by a little slow lateral motion, and finally logitudinal/lateral coupled motion is fully developed.

  • Laser Inertial Navigation System(LINS) consists of Ring Laser Gyroscopes(RLG) and accelerometers. RLG has a lock-in region in which there is zero output for input angular rates less than about 0.1deg/sec. The lock-in region is generated by the imperfect mirrors in RLG. To avoid the lock-in region, a sinusoidal motion called dither motion is applied on RLG. Therefore this dither motion is measured by RLG/accelerometer even if at a stop state. In this situation, the performance on the initial alignment of LINS can be degraded. In this paper, we analyze the performance on the initial alignment of LINS theoretically and experimentally. Analysis results include how dither motion, the pre-filter and the corner frequency in alignment loop affects the performance on the initial alignment of LINS.

  • In this study it will be discussed how to solve the problem of discomfort from rolling motion on the small fishing boats. Up to now, the equipments of reducing rolling system can be examined by various case, but difficult to apply small vessel by function, space and costly establishment. A way of improving the feeling of getting on a boat through the equipped sail at stern edge of bulwark top was researched and developed. The author has tested the sailing performance of the experimental skiff boat, from the signals obtained by the inclinometer in irregular waves and compared with the results got in sail on and off mode operation for 10 minutes duration at the conditions of stop and underway. These data has been analyzed in the application statistical methods. Eventually we summarize the analyzed results obtained from the vessel while stationary and underway for two cases, the vessel with a sail and the vessel without a sail. The field test was done in Jeju outer harbor. The ratio of the motion responses at resonance for the sail with and without cases indicate that under given conditions the motion was reduced by the efficiency of diminution is 4.726%, 2.792% in the stopping and 11.663%, 3.282% in the underway and mean rolling periods are 2.158, 2.142, 2.421, 2.412sec. and 1.968, 1.963, 2.089, 2.051sec. respectively. Consequently the efficiency of diminution was higher when the ship is underway and rolling periods got longer in the equipped sail.

  • In this work, we propose a new type of HDD suspension featuring shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator in order to prevent the contact between the slider and disk. The principal design parameters are obtained from the modal analysis using finite element analysis, and then the dynamic model is established to formulate the control scheme for Non-Contact Start/stop mode drive. Subsequently, a robust H$\_$$\infty$/ control algorithm is designed by integrating experimentally-Obtained SMA actuator dynamics to the proposed HDD suspension system. The controller is empirically realized and control results for the load/unload profiles are presented in time domain. In addition, the contact signal between the slider and disk is measured by the electrical resistance method.
