In this paper, we propose the basic measurement method of a 3D digitizer using a CCD camera in detail. In the localization measurement with a CCD camera, the effect of the background light and the sensitivity consideration are always problems in realizing a high precision. In this research, a new measurement principle is proposed in which the pulse compression technique known in radar is used to eliminate the effect of background light even under a low intensity light source, and the coordinate values on the CCD camera image plane are determined accurately. From the quantitative evaluation of the S/N ratio improvement and the fundamental experiment, it is verified that a substantial improvement in the S/N ratio is realized for both the background noise and the pixel noise and that a resolution of less than the pixel is sufficiently possible.

The depth camera measures range information of the scene in real time using Time-of-Flight (TOF) technology. Measured depth data is then regularized and provided as a depth image. This depth image is utilized with the stereo or multi-view image to generate high-resolution depth map of the scene. However, it is required to correct noise and distortion of TOF depth image due to the technical limitation of the TOF depth camera. The corrected depth image is combined with the color image in various methods, and then we obtain the high-resolution depth of the scene. In this paper, we introduce the principal and various techniques of sensor fusion for high-quality depth generation that uses multiple camera with depth cameras.

In this study, we investigate the feasibility of modeling entire image strips that has been acquired from the same orbital segments. We tested sensor models based on satellite orbit and attitude with different sets(Type1 ~ Type4) of unknowns. We checked the accuracy of orbit modeling by establishing sensor models of one scene using control points extracted from the scene and by applying the models to adjacent scenes within the same orbital segments. Results indicated that modeling of individual scenes with 1st or 2nd order unknowns was recommended. We tested the accuracy of around control points, digital map using the HIST-DPW (Hanjin Information Systems & Telecommunication Digital Photogrammetric Workstation) As a result, we showed that the orbit-based sensor model is a suitable sensor model for making 1/25,000 digital map.

The KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite(KOMPSAT)-2 has a capability to provide a cross-track stereo imagery using two different orbits for generating various spatial information. However, in order to fully realize the potential of the KOMPSAT-2 stereo imagery in terms of mapping, various tests are necessary. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possibility of mapping using the KOMPSAT-2 stereo imagery. For this, digital plotting was conducted based on the stereoscopic images. Also the Digital Elevation Model(DEM) and an ortho-image were generated using digital plotting results. An accuracy of digital plotting, DEM, and ortho-image were evaluated by comparing with the existing data. Consequently, we found that horizontal and vertical error of the modeling results based on the Rational Polynomial Coefficient(RPC) was less than 1.5 meters compared with the Global Positioning System(GPS) survey results. The maximum difference of vertical direction between the plotted results in this study and the existing digital map on the scale of 1/5,000 was more than 5 meters according as the topographical characteristics. Although there were some irregular parallax on the images, we realized that it was possible to interpret and plot at least seventy percent of the layer which was required the digital map on the scale of 1/5,000. Also an accuracy of DEM, which was generated based on the digital plotting, was compared with the existing LiDAR DEM. We found that the ortho-images, which were generated using the extracted DEM in this study, sufficiently satisfied with the requirement of the geometric accuracy for an ortho-image map on the scale of 1/5,000.

IKONOS images have the perspective geometry in CCD sensor line like aerial images with central perspective geometry. So the occlusion by buildings, terrain or other objects exist in the image. It is difficult to detect the occlusion with RPCs(rational polynomial coefficients) for ortho-rectification of image. Therefore, in this study, we detected the occlusion areas in IKONOS images using the nominal collection elevation/azimuth angle and restored the hidden areas using another stereo images, from which the rue ortho image could be produced. The algorithm's validity was evaluated using the geometric accuracy of the generated ortho image.

Chroma key technique which composes images by separating an object from its background in specific color has restrictions on color and space. Especially, unlike general chroma key technique, image composition for stereo 3D display requires natural image composition method in 3D space. The thesis attempted to compose images in 3D space using depth keying method which uses high resolution depth information. High resolution depth map was obtained through camera calibration between the DSLR and Kinect sensor. 3D mesh model was created by the high resolution depth information and mapped with RGB color value. Object was converted into point cloud type in 3D space after separating it from its background according to depth information. The image in which 3D virtual background and object are composed obtained and played stereo 3D images using a virtual camera.

A key component of autonomous navigation of intelligent home robot is localization and map building with recognized features from the environment. To validate this, accurate measurement of relative location between robot and features is essential. In this paper, we proposed relative localization algorithm based on 3D reconstruction of scale invariant features of two images which are captured from two parallel cameras. We captured two images from parallel cameras which are attached in front of robot and detect scale invariant features in each image using SIFT(scale invariant feature transform). Then, we performed matching for the two image's feature points and got the relative location using 3D reconstruction for the matched points. Stereo camera needs high precision of two camera's extrinsic and matching pixels in two camera image. Because we used two cameras which are different from stereo camera and scale invariant feature point and it's easy to setup the extrinsic parameter. Furthermore, 3D reconstruction does not need any other sensor. And the results can be simultaneously used by obstacle avoidance, map building and localization. We set 20cm the distance between two camera and capture the 3frames per second. The experimental results show :t6cm maximum error in the range of less than 2m and ${\pm}15cm$ maximum error in the range of between 2m and 4m.

In this paper, we developed a Satellite Image Processing System for obtaining 3-D positional information which is composed of five process modules. As a procedure of them, the Data Process module is the procedure that reads and processes the header file to generate data files. and then calculates orbital parameters and sensor attitudes for obtaining of 3-D positional information with them. The 3D Process module is to calculate 3-D positional information and the Dialog Process module is to correct the time of image frame center using the single image or stereo images for implementing the 3D Process module. We expect to obtain 3-D positional information with the header file and minimum GCPs(1∼2 points) using this system efficiently and economically in comparison with existing commercial software packages.
In this paper, we present visual sensing techniques that can be used to teach a robot using a laser pointer. The light spot of an off-the-shelf laser pointer is detected and its movement is tracked on consecutive images of a camera. The three-dimensional position of the spot is calculated using stereo cameras. The light spot on the image is detected based on its color, brightness, and shape. The detection results in a binary image, and morphological processing steps are performed on the image to refine the detection. The movement of the laser spot is measured using two methods. The first is a simple method of specifying the region of interest (ROI) centered at the current location of the light spot and finding the spot within the ROI on the next image. It is assumed that the movement of the spot is not large on two consecutive images. The second method is using a Kalman filter, which has been widely employed in trajectory estimation problems. In our simulation study of various cases, Kalman filtering shows better results mostly. However, there is a problem of fitting the system model of the filter to the pattern of the spot movement.

In order to measure the radiation, there are types of sensors plurality. I was using the detection method and sensitivity of the CCD sensor in the scintillator and collimator in the sensor. In this study, in order to detect radiation using a CCD sensor with high resolution, by measuring the radiation dose by processing the visible light generated in response to radiation of the image coming into the CCD in the scintillator in space it is to present a pointer that radiation comes out most. It is intended to imaging by calculation of the distance to the radiation source to the implementation of the stereo camera system video in the future.
