  • LSMs are installed under girders along the long track. In order to improve the efficiency of the LSM, long stator LSM should be divided into the specified length and the propulsion inverters should have the system topology to generate high voltage and current for LSMs. This paper presents a system topology with two-step inverter in order to generate high voltage in inverter. A LSM propulsion system is developed and implemented in Maltab/Simulink. A system model of the two-step Inverter is applied to developed model. This paper demonstrates through simulation, advantages of multi-step inverter. The conclusions can serve the design of LSM propulsion system.

  • In this paper, the maximum likelihood estimators for parameters are derived under three step-stress accelerated life tests for Type-I hybrid censored data. The exponential distribution and the cumulative exposure model are considered based on the assumption that a log quadratic relationship exits between stress and the mean lifetime ${\theta}$. The test plan to search optimal stress change times minimizing the asymptotic variance of maximum likelihood estimators are presented. A numerical example to illustrate the proposed inferential procedures and some simulation results to investigate the sensitivity of the optimal stress change times by the guessed parameters are given.

  • The inferences of data obtained from periodic inspection and type I censoring for the three step stress accelerated life test are studied in this paper. The failure rate function that a log-quadratic relation of stress and the tampered failure rate model are considered under the exponential distribution. The optimal stress change times which minimize the asymptotic variance of maximum likelihood estimators of parameters is determined and the maximum likelihood estimators of the model parameters are estimated. A numerical example will be given to illustrate the proposed inferential procedures.

  • In this paper, we consider optimum plan to determine stress change times under the three-step stress PALTs, assuming that each test units follows an exponential distribution. The tampered random variable(TRV) model for the three-step stress PALTs setup are introduced, and maximum likelihood estimators(MLEs) of the failure rate and the acceleration factors are obtained. The change times to minimize the generalized asymptotic variance(GAVR) of MLEs of the failure rate and the acceleration factors are proposed for the three-step stress PALTs.

  • This paper deals with noninformative priors for such as Jeffres' prior, reference prior and probability matching prior for scale parameter of exponential distribution when the data are collected in multiple step stress accelerated life tests. We find the noninformative priors for this model and show that the reference prior satisfies first order matching criterion. Using artificial data, we perform Bayesian analysis for proposed priors.

  • In this paper, we present simulation results of Dynamic Matrix Control(DMC) to a boiler steam temperature. In order to control of steam temperature, we choose the input-output variables and generate the step response model by each input variable's step test. After that, the control structure executes on-line control with optimization using step response model. Proposed controller is applied to the APESS(Doosan company's boiler model simulator) and it is observed that the simulation results show satisfactory performance of proposed control.

  • In this paper we develop a new theory of adjoint and symmetric method in the class of general implicit one-step fixed-stepsize methods. These methods arise from simple and natral def-initions of the concepts of symmetry and adjointness that provide a fruitful basis for analysis. We prove a number of theorems for meth-ods having these properties and show in particular that only the symmetric methods possess a quadratic asymptotic expansion of the global error. In addition we give a very simple test to identify the symmetric methods in practice.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sciatic nerve mobilization techniques on straight leg raising (SLR) and walking ability in elderly women aged over 65. METHODS: Seventy women aged over 65 were examined using SLR test and forty women were selected as subjects. They were divided into Group I (under $70^{\circ}$ of SLR test of both legs, n=20) and Group II (over $70^{\circ}$ of SLR test of both legs, n=20). Nerve mobilization was applied to both groups (three times a week for 4 weeks). SLR angle was measured using digital goniometer and walking ability was measured by step length, stride length, velocity, double support, using GAITRite System. After 4 weeks, paired t-test was used to compare the changes of SLR test and walking ability within Group I and Group II. RESULTS: In Group I, SLR test, step length, stride length and gait velocity were significantly increased but double support was significantly difference. In Group II, SLR test, step length and stride length were significantly increased but gait velocity was not significantly increased and double support was significantly decreased. CONCLUSION: This study showed that sciatic nerve mobilization techniques had positive effects on the SLR angle and walking ability in elderly women.
