  • The purpose of this study the creative problem-solving of gifted children for elementary school science in order to improve and develop learning programs and STEAM projects by applying that effect would be to provide. To develop this STEAM program, we utilized the steps of the Project Learning method and the KOrea Foundation for the Advancement of science and Creativity(KOFAC) proposed STEAM program, learning the principles and criteria in configuration, the methodology. In order to verify the effectiveness of the developed STEAM program Elementary Science for gifted students with creative problemsolving Questionnaire were used. The program was developed a total of 18 classes, consists of first project to create a solar car, second project to create elastic car. The primary project was selected as one of the topics with the students and selected topics related to previous activities in accordance with articles examining the actual quest, consultation, representation activities in class and finishing with the deliverables and evaluation consisted of 12 classes. The second project is the first project based on a given problem to generate a deliverable by outlining a solution which consists of 6 classes. All of this project was composed by teachers and students to select a common topic on the subject of themselves through a process of problematization, the student-led science, technology, engineering and arts of the area so that the content can be made convergence. The results of the study indicate that this developed STEAM program has a positive effection creative problem solving in a gifted students.

  • This study analyzed what STEAM elements, except mathematical content, are contained in 2009 revised elementary school 5th and 6th grade group mathematics textbooks. STEAM elements in the textbooks were examined by grade and by content area in the elementary school mathematics curriculum. The results were as follows. First, the number of STEAM elements in mathematics 5-1, 5-2, 6-1, 6-2 are 151(18.4%), 212(25.9%), 211(25.7%), 246(30.0%), respectively. The 6th Grade than in 5th Grade can be seen a few plenty. Second, the number of STEAM elements are different depending on the type of STEAM. The number of arts element is 617(75.2%) and this elements are seen the most. The number of representative art and cultural art is 445(54.3%) and 172(20.9%), respectively. The number of technology-engineering and science is 158(19.2%) and 45(5.5%), respectively. We need to developed to promote use of science element in next mathematics curriculum.

  • This paper proposes the passive redundancy algorithm of multi-controller structure applicable to the steam generator level control system in the low power operating range. In the passive redundancy scheme of multi-controller structure, two suitable controllers exist if the plant is strongly stabilizable. One of the two controllers can be selected arbitrarily only if it is stable. In particular, this paper shows that the passive redundancy scheme can be efficiently used with PID and GPC control algorithms through simulation studies on the control of the steam generator.

  • Generally, level control in the steam generator of a nuclear power plant is difficulty process control, because the low power operating can lead nonminimum phase characteristics(swell and shrink phenomenon) and flow measurement are unreliable and nonlinear characteristics. This paper presents a framework for solving this problem based on the constrained linear model predictive control and introduces the design of method for the level of the controller in the entire operating power of the steam generator, and compares with conventional PI controller.

  • During the plant operation, steam generator U-tube assembly will potentially be subject to adverse environmental conditions which can cause damages to them. This report addresses the major design factors of CANDU type steam generator which are intended to minimize the potential tube damages. Such factors include U-tube material, high circulation ratio, tube-to-tubesheet joint, tube support design. Also a few suggestions are presented for the design and performance improvement of CANDU type steam generators.

  • In this work, a recursive parameter estimation algorithm estimates the mathematical model of steam generators every time step and a receding horizon controller is designed by using this estimated linear steam generator model of which parameters change as time goes on. It was shown through application to a linear model of steam generator that the proposed controller has good performance.

  • A high-efficiency turbo steam compressor has been successfully developed for the MVR desalination system, first one in Korea. The state-of-the-art design methods using real gas properties were applied to get all the aerodynamic design results. Bull and pinion gear trains, tilting-pad bearings and investment cast impellers were developed also to be integrated into the integral gear-driven turbo steam compressor. System tests show highly efficient performance.
