  • As far as the universities in south Korea are concerned, they have to meet the need of the situation as the number of the incoming students are decreasing because of the population-reducing in south Korea. The Ministry of Education Science and Technology is enforcing the restructuring of an universities by evaluating all the universities in Korea by using some indices (employment rate, supplement rate of students etc.). Most of the universities in Korea are widely permitting the changes of the major study as a method to improve the 'supplement rate of students' among some measures. These changes of major study (moving in and moving out) can give rise to difficulties in managing an university because there might be the departments with a small number of students as they moving out from low level departments to high level ones. Moreover, as raising the change rate of the major study, there is no loss from the university's point of view but a department could be in a difficult situation. The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics for changing major study by a general statistical analysis and graphs produced by a social network analysis with the D university's case. The results of this study are as follows; (a) category is from the engineering to humanity-society, (b) entrance level is from low to high, and (c) employment rate is from low to high as well.

  • This report is prepared to find how the filament of cocoon bave size deviation relates with the raw silk made by them which are intensively cultured in this country. Three recommended hybrid varieties and two varieties under working at Suwon Sericultural Experiment Station were selected as specimens. The cocoons were reeled as an individual filament of every fifty meters long skein with a wrap reel to weigh the denier and to investigate the relationship of the above statement so that it may be used for the quality estimation before processing it into raw silk. The conclusions obtained are as follows. (1) The variation of Pk${\times}$Sn was found as best cocoon for 21 denier raw silk use, but the number of cocoon to make the denier has to be eight which might cause more labor cost. (2) Baektoo-Kumkang and Myohiang-Chongchon were found as economical varieties for 21 denier use. (3) Seulak-Soyang is a proper variety for the use of 14 or 28 denier silk use. (4) Myohiang-Chongchon did not confirm a good property from the aspect of denier deviation. (5) It was found that there was a fairly strong corelationship between the mean cocoon bave size deviation as indicated by Ono's report. (6) Three graphs were prepared to estimate the cocoon quality before processing into various sizes of raw silk using the mean cocoon bave size and the raw silk size to be prepared. (7) Mean time, the graph which is able to estimate the expectable grade of the raw silk size deviation was designed for the practical use. (8) The expectable grade of the varieties used in this report were found as following data. Notice (A......cocoon number to make raw silk (B......total cocoon bave size deviation (C......expectable silk grade (9) The result of the work concerning the expectable denier deviation on 21 denier silk was the same with the statistical actual testing result as 1.25 D while the distribution showed farther necessity of improvement in technically.

  • Purpose: In the event of mass casualties, triage must be done promptly and accurately so that as many patients as possible can be recovered and returned to the battlefield. However, medical personnel have received many tasks with less manpower, and the battlefield for classifying patients is too complex and uncertain. Therefore, we studied an artificial intelligence model that can assist and replace medical personnel on the battlefield. Method: The triage model is presented using reinforcement learning, a field of artificial intelligence. The learning of the model is conducted to find a policy that allows as many patients as possible to be treated, taking into account the condition of randomly set patients and the medical capability of the military hospital. Result: Whether the reinforcement learning model progressed well was confirmed through statistical graphs such as cumulative reward values. In addition, it was confirmed through the number of survivors whether the triage of the learned model was accurate. As a result of comparing the performance with the rule-based model, the reinforcement learning model was able to rescue 10% more patients than the rule-based model. Conclusion: Through this study, it was found that the triage model using reinforcement learning can be used as an alternative to assisting and replacing triage decision-making of medical personnel in the case of mass casualties.

  • This study was carried out as a part of the semi-longitudinal study on growth and development of Korean children, with purpose of observing the growth change in arch form., 736 pairs, of study models were taken for 3 years. Mesio-distal diameter of each tooth, intercanine width, intermolar width, canine arch depth, molar arch depth and arch perimeters were measured. Afterwards, mean value and each standard deviation of each age group and each gender were obtained, and corresponding graphs were drawn. The following conclusions were obtained : 1. Mesio-distal diameters of maxillary central incisor, maxillary 2nd molar, mandibular canine, and mandibular 2nd molar showed statistical difierences between boys and girls. 2. Intercanine width shows a gradual increase until age of 11. 3. Intermolar width in maxilla shows continuous increase, and the tendency of increase is more apparent between age of 9 and 14. In mandible, various pattern was shown until age of 9, and after, a slight increase. 4. Canine arch depth shows the increasing tendency until age of 13 in maxilla and 11 in mandible. 5. Molar arch depth shows the pattern of increase until age of 10 in male and 9 in female, which is more apparent in maxilla. After age of 9 or 10,dereasing pattrn was significantly shown until age of 15 in maxilla and age of 12 in mandible. 6. Arch perimeters in maxilla and mandible showed gradual increase until age of 10, and the tendency of increase was more apparent in maxilla; however, between the age of 10 and 14, arch perimeters of maxilla and mandible showed gradual decrease which was more apparent in mandible.
