농형 유도 발전기의 소프트 기동 특성 해석 (Soft Start-up Characteristics Analysis of Squirrel Cage Induction Generator)

  • In general, the voltage stability of induction generator is lower than synchronous generator. Induction generator has a number of advantages over the synchronous generator on the side of price and maintenance. So Induction generator has been applied to the small hydroelectric power of low output. Induction generator usually generates a high current during grid connection. The high current that occurs during grid connection can cause a voltage drop in the system. In order to increase the supply of the induction generator, it is necessary to propose a method of reducing high current. This paper proposes some method of the soft start to reduce voltage drop caused by the large starting current. soft-start method has high voltage drop effect than direct start method, control of firing angle can be increased the voltage drop effect.

  • Induction motors are used widely in driving load of a fluid, such as a pump or a fan in the industry. Induction motor has been generated the voltage drop by the occurrence of a high current during startup. In addition, high start-up current can act as a mechanical stress on the shaft of the motor. So there is need a way to reduce the starting current. Soft start method is one of the many ways to reduce the starting current. This method uses silicon-controlled rectifiers(SCRs) for varying value of the voltage applied to the motor. There is a case for fixing or changing the thyristor firing angle to adjust the magnitude of the voltage. Starting power factor of induction motor is very low compared to the normal operation. Soft starting with the firing angle fixed needs to be considered a low power factor at startup. In this study, we compared the direct start characteristics and soft start characteristics considering the low power factor at the time of start-up. It was possible to confirm that the starting current and the voltage drop is present differently according to the firing angle.

A Novel Hybrid Sequential Start Control System for Large Inductive Loads

  • The inrush current of a large inductive load can be reduced with a soft starter; however, the large inrush current caused by simultaneous bulk starts (SBSs) cannot be effectively reduced. In order to reduce the high inrush current and voltage sag owing to the SBSs of large capacity inductive loads within a power network, a novel hybrid sequential start control system is proposed, implemented on embedded systems, and evaluated with a testbed in this study. From the experimental and simulation results of the proposed control system, the inrush current could be effectively restricted below the maximum current capacity of a power distributing board. Moreover, with the proposed system, power cost typically dictated by the peak power consumption can be fairly reduced, and the quality of the power system connected to the inductive loads can be efficiently increased.

통전전류 특성을 이용한 모터 기동용 전해 커패시터 폭발 방지 방법 (The Explosion Prevention Method for Electrolytic Motor Start Capacitors using Current Characteristic)

  • In this paper, we investigated fire cases those are believed to be caused by explosion of a electrolytic motor start capacitor. Using two types of commercially available electrolytic motor start capacitors, capacitor current and the possibility of capacitor explosion were tested. And the ignition possibility of the internal material leaked from a capacitor was also tested. In addition, experiments were conducted to see if the fire could spread when a capacitor was exposed to an external flame. From our test we observed that the current of the electrolytic motor start capacitor rose continuously to a certain level by product, if the capacitor was continuously energized with working voltage, and then the capacitor was exploded. The gas and liquid leaked from the capacitor by the explosion could ignite by an electric arc and an external flame. The capacitor current at explosion was different product by product, but each product had a certain current level at explosion. And the increase rate of the capacitor current until explosion was 24% and 31% for the products used in the experiment. We proposed the capacitor explosion prevention method that cuts off power when the capacitor current rises to a certain threshold level. The proposed method can be used if the current of the applied electrolytic motor start capacitor rises continuously and then the capacitor is exploded at a certain current level when the capacitor is energized continuously.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of single-phase line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor driven by constant voltage are analyzed on d-q axis vector diagram and compared with that of current controlled motor. The coupled method of symmetrical coordinates and d-q axis voltage equation are applied to the analysis method like the analysis of single-phase induction motor. From the result of the analysis, it is seen that motors driven by constant voltage source have effects on not only the amplitude of current and torque but also current and current phase angle, so overall characteristics such as power factor and load angle are affected by circuit parameters. For precise analysis and design of single-phase line-start synchronous motor, its characteristics should be analyzed on d-q axis vector plan in consideration of the variation of circuit parameters.

Starting Current Application for Magnetic Stimulation

  • A power supply for magnetic-stimulation devices was designed via a control algorithm that involved a start current application based on a resonant converter. In this study, a new power supply for magnetic-stimulation devices was designed by controlling the pulse repetition frequency and pulse width. The power density could be controlled using the start-current-compensation and ZCS (zero-current switching) resonant converter. The results revealed a high-repetition-frequency, high-power magnetic-stimulation device. It was found that the stimulation coil current pulse width and that pulse repetition frequency could be controlled within the range of 200-450 ${\mu}S$ and 200-900 pps, respectively. The magnetic-stimulation device in this study consisted of a stimulation coil device and a power supply system. The maximum power of the stimulation coil from one discharge was 130 W, which was increased to 260 W using an additional reciprocating discharge. The output voltage was kept stable in a sinusoidal waveform regardless of the load fluctuations by forming voltage and current control using a deadbeat controller without increasing the current rating at the starting time. This paper describes this magnetic-stimulation device to which the start current was applied.

단락파형제어형 SMAW용 용접전원 개발 및 특성평가 (Short Circuit Waveform Control Type SMAW Welding Power Source Development and Characteristic Evaluation)

  • The digital controlled SMA welding power source having the hot start current and short circuit waveform control was developed. The inverter power controller was used an analog circuit and the short circuit waveform controller was developed using a 8-bit MCU. For the evaluation of the developed SMA welding power source it were compared with a domestic welding power sources. Using the high titanium oxide type and low hydrogen type electrodes, the characteristics of hot start and short circuit was evaluated. Developed SMA welding power source shows good start performance. Also, arc stability and low current weldability were improved by the short circuit waveform control.

  • 본 논문에서는 2.5[kW]급 선박용 HID 탐사등 조명을 위한 Soft-start 개방회로 전압 및 정전류 순차 제어 방식을 제안한다. 제안된 제어회로는 HID 탐사등의 안정적인 점등을 위하여 개방회로 전압과 점등 전류를 순차적으로 제어하는 방식으로, 특히 전원투입 상태에서의 안정성을 위하여 일정한 입력전압에 대해서 Soft-start 기법을 적용하여 개방회로 전압 제어모드로 동작하도록 설계되었다. 또한, 점등개시 신호의 입력에 따라 제어모드를 전압제어에서 전류 제어모드로 변경하여 단일 PWM 제어소자에서 동시에 처리하도록 하였다. 한편, 입력 노이즈 및 개방회로 전압의 검출을 간단한 원칩 마이크로 프로세서로 구현하여, 오동작 및 점등 실패에 대한 강인성을 부가하도록 하였다. 제안된 제어기는 실제 선박용 HID 탐사등의 적용 시험을 통하여 그 안정성을 시험하였다.

상용차를 위한 무시동 에어컨 압축기용 공진형 DC/DC 컨버터 개발 (Development of the Anti-Start Air Conditioner Compressor Resonant DC/DC Converter for Commercial Vehicle)

  • This study deals with a resonant converter of an anti-start air conditioner compressor for commercial vehicles. The anti-start air conditioner compressor must generally have a high current, high efficiency, a low volume, and a low weight. To reduce the switching losses and voltage and current stresses of the device, the anti-start air conditioner compressor applies the full-bridge L-C resonant converter topology. Hardware parameters are designed to have a wide voltage range, and the switching frequency range of the L-C resonant converter is determined. Simulation is implemented using PSIM and an experiment is performed to verify the proposed converter.

  • 본 논문은 단상 유도전동기의 기동 시 발생하는 기동전류를 분석하고 이를 저감하기 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 단상 유도전동기는 구조적인 특성으로 인해 기동토크를 발생시킬 수 있는 별도의 기동장치가 요구된다. 본 논문에서 사용되고 있는 방법은 커패시터-기동/커패시터-운전 방식이며 타 방식 대비 기동토크가 크고 운전효율이 높은 특성이 있다. 하지만 초기 기동 시 약 5~6배에 해당되는 돌입전류가 발생하며 이로 인한 초저온 냉동고 기동 소자와 주변기기들의 소손 및 수명 저하의 원인이 된다. 기동 시 발생하는 돌입전류를 저감하기 위하여 가상 dq모델 기반의 전류제어 알고리즘을 적용하여 기동 전류를 제한하고, 정격운전에 도달 시 상용전원과 동일한 운전조건으로 전환하기 위한 알고리즘을 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 검증한다.
