  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the status and opinions of professional oral health care performance in oral cancer patients. Methods: Seven National University Dental Hospitals and the National Cancer Center in Korea surveyed the medical personnel in charge of oral health care for oral cancer patients. The questionnaire consisted of 16 questions, including the status of expert oral health care education and performance for oral cancer patients, etc. A total of 47 questionnaires were retrieved, and the collected data were used in PASW Statistics 23.0 to perform frequency analysis, cross-analysis, and kruskal Wallis tests. Results: A survey of oral health care education found that 29.8% of the medical personnel had received education. The most performed of professional oral health care was found that applying fluoride by dental hygienist, treating stomatitis by dentist, and wiping mouths with sponge by nurse. The assessment of self-performance has shown that applying fluoride by dental hygienists has a statistically significant difference. Only 37.8% of oral health care education for patients was conducted. Most recognized that oral health care in oral cancer patients was important, but it is difficult to provide care due to lack of performance personnel and time, opportunities for performance personnel to be educated. The improvement was found to require an increase in the number of performance personnel, placement of professionals, and practical training to enhance performance capabilities. Conclusions: For oral health care of oral cancer patients, continuous education for medical personnel, establishment of oral health care manual and medical system, research on oral health care of oral cancer patients and public relations campaign will have to be activated. • The purpose of this survey was to investigate the status of dietitians' nutrition management in the elementary school lunch program. 84 elementary schools in Pusan that operated the conventional school lunch program system participated in this survey. They were grouped into schools that had started the school lunch program gofore('Previously") and after 1996("Newly"). 84.5% of dietitians were 20-29 years old and 44% of them had a career less 1 year old. 74.6% of "Previously" and 72.4% of "Newly" served their meals in the classrooms. The student's nutrition and preferences were mainly considered in menu planning in both groups. The standardized recipe was used in 90% of total schools but not effectively in both groups. The nutrient value of meals was evaluated by the dietitians in most schools. Nutrition surveys of the meals students ate at home were carried out in 27.3% of "Previously" and 13.8% of "Newly". Students preferences were studied regularly in 60% of "Previously" and 48.3% of "Newly" and students evaluations of meals served by the school lunch program in 52.7% of "Previously" and 34.5% of "Newly". In 92.7% of "Previously" and 72.4% of "Newly", nutrition education was executed but was done mostly by letterssent to students' parents(in about 95% of schools), with only 11.8% of schools educating within in their classrooms. There were few instructional media for nutrition education. The most of them used notice boards(48.0% of "Previously" and 41.6% of "Newly") . Evaluation studies on nutrition management, and nutrition education were hardly correlated to the dietitian's career and educational level. They were also not correlated to the number of meals served by the school lunch program. In conclusion, the status of the nutrition management in the elementary school lunch program was not good and schools that had started the school lunch program before ("Previously") and after 1996(Mewly") were not that different. It appears that most of the dietitians from elementary schools started the school lunch program before 1996 have followed the nutrition management method established in these schools. In order to have better management in the elementary school lunch program, we need to improve the dietitian's position and more studies in the fields fo better nutrition management and nutrition education should be done.ram, we need to improve the dietitian's position and more studies in the fields fo better nutrition management and nutrition education should be done.

  • This study introduces the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and explores the characteristics of CLASS for observing classroom. The CLASS is a standardized observation instrument that was largely developed for use in the USA. The CLASS attempts to provide a conceptual framework for categorizing classroom interactions and consists of three broad domains of quality (emotional supports, classroom organization, instructional supports). We simulated this method to the elementary school classes. The professional-teacher makes the best use of student's initiation behaviors, and the novice teacher focused on the leading the contents of subject. The novice teacher tyr to make more positive climate and to present more frequent feedback to students than professional teacher's classroom. The professional teacher would like to reveal the student's opinions, questions and subtle emotional state. The CLASS can be used to collect data on a wide range of specific aspects of the teaching and learning process at any given time.

  • This paper aims to determine how the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) records management system affects practitioners' understanding of the importance of records management. The levels of awareness of records management, which is based on ISO 15489, are set as dependent variables, whereas the ROKA's records management system factors are set as independent variables based on the standardized elements of ISO 30301 (Management System for Records). The relationship between these variables is then statistically examined using a sample (N = 251) surveyed with record management practitioners in the ROKA. The results show that operational factors had a positive effect only on the purposes and benefits of records management. Based on the results, it is suggested that the development of an expertise-based and value-oriented policy and education is necessary to improve practitioners' understanding of record management.

  • The purpose of this study is to figure out how much gifted science education teachers in charge of the class realize the necessity of individualized curriculum and program for scientifically gifted, to find out the problems of the gifted science educational institutions from exploring them in depth in the light of the reality in the gifted science educational institutions, and to draw implications about the applicable direction of more aggressive individualized curriculum and program for scientifically gifted. I chose 15 people with the incumbent teachers who have ever taught scientifically gifted and have a degree in the gifted education or science subject education as study participants and had a depth interview with them. According to result of the study, 14 of 15 study participants recognized the necessity of individualized education in science should understand the personal requirements according to the tendency of the gifted students and should be a study led by students themselves. Of the problems in gifted science education, teachers regarded the reduction in the financial support as the biggest problem and the vocation and professionalism of teachers were referred as a very important factor. With constraints of time and space, there were plenty of opinions that can't ignore the influence of educational environment associated with the university entrance examination. There were many opinions that there is excessive expansion of the agencies and the target for gifted students, no standardized measurement tools and programs and the lack of the system for the coherent observation as a teacher. Also, the unified curriculum of gifted science education institutions were pointed out as the problem and the individualized programs which were already under way have a lot of weakness and being offered marginally. Thus, from now on, to apply for individualized education of gifted science, teachers demanded optimized education conditions and consistent policy support, and expressed the opinion that there needs of a possible continuous observation system. Besides, the curriculum and programs matched the needs of the students should be taken priority the most, and there were another answers that fellow learning within the cooperative learning can be an alternative of the individualized. Along with that, there were lots of opinions that the treatment to overcome an inferiority complex according to the individualized should be followed.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the fitness of major courses according to the development and application of new curricula based on the NCS (National Competency Standards) of health-related departments at junior colleges. To accomplish this, 300 students of the health-related departments at junior colleges were surveyed from March 11 to March 30, 2016. The overall findings showed that their awareness of NCS, intent of integration and understanding of curriculum contents had a significant effect on the fitness for linkage and combination with existing education. Competency unit elements based on the newly developed NCS (job, work, qualification and training standardization of major courses) were linked with existing education. And students - who accept this - are rapidly assimilated into the new curriculum contents. In particular, they have a high understanding of the integrated development of standardized curricula between three major departments, unlike existing textbooks. In conclusion, the high perception and understanding of knowledge integration education are expected to have a positive effect on healthcare education, establishing an early health-related NCS system in the future, and improving site fitness for development of the contents of NCS.
