  • The photovoltaic inverter is a system which transforms the solar energy to the electrical energy. Because the output of photovoltaic inverter depends on solar radiation, it is necessary to save generated power or to interface with utility line. This paper describes a 2KVA photovoltaic inverter utilizing IGBT, designed to have a very high efficiency in stand alone mode and to have the function synchronizing the phase between inverter and utility voltage as a fundamental study for utility interactive mode.

  • 본 논문은 배터리 충방전 제어기를 가지는 독립형 태양광·풍력 복합발전시스템에 대해서 기술한다. 복합발전시스템의 주요 전력원은 일반적으로 태양전지 어레이, 풍력발전, 배터리로 구성된다. 태양광·풍력 복합발전시스템은 기상조건의 상호 보완성 때문에 풍력 또는 태양광을 단독으로 이용하는 것에 비해서 배터리 수요를 줄일 수 있으며, 자연에너지의 활용도를 높이는 장점이 있다. 제안된 복합발전시스템은 충방전 제어기가 포함되어 있어 태양전지 어레이의 최대출력에서 동작할 수 있도록 순시치 제어기로 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 실험을 통하여 시스템의 동작특성을 검증하였다.

  • A PVIB(Photovoltaic in Building) system is united by a constituent outer covering and can expect dual effects that reduce expenses for the establishment of a PV system. It is a profitable technology because it does not need a building as it is a stand alone PV system. This paper presents design, operational features analysis, and PCS(Power Conditioning System) of grid-connected 30kW PVIB set up on the library of Dongshin University. For a sustainable photovoltaic system in this area, the data of the PVIB system are collected and analyzed by monitoring system using LabView. PCS of the grid-connected PVIB system, also, is designed for optimal operation with characteristics suggested in this paper.

  • The Photovoltaic systems with solar cell way Provide electrical energy to the utility/consumers, which are becoming one of the promising energy substitutes. The photovoltaic system can be classified into two types : One is the stand-alone type, and the other utility interactive one. The latter can return the generated power to the utility, but the former can't. The utility interactive systems are so valuable for peak power cut in summer season. In the photovoltaic systems the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) has been studied for the increase of the generating energy of the photovoltaic system. There are many control methods of MPPT, but a new MPPT algorithm is proposed to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional ones, and as a result the proposed method enables to improve both tracking ability and generating efficiency of photo voltaic system without DC chopper.

  • The introduction of high brightness LEDs with white light and monochromatic colors have led to a movement towards specialty and general illumination applications. Because drive circuit of illumination LED has an effect on efficiency and life, research about the drive circuit following LED characteristic is needed. This paper proposed a implementation of the stand-alone LED lighting system using battery from photovoltaic power generation.

  • Of two photovoltaic systems such as stand-alone type and utility interactive one, the utility interactive systems are so valuable for power peak-cut particularly in summer season. For the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) by which the generated energy can be maximized, many control methods have been reported up to now. To overcome the disadvantages of the conventional ones, a new MPPT algorithm is proposed which can improve both tracking ability and generating efficiency of photovoltaic system without chopper.

  • The mobile house of this article is provided with stand-alone power system that uses photovoltaic energy and enables sensing and environmental monitoring. Excess power generated is stored in lithium batteries, which enable smooth operation of the mobile house even in environment in which solar energy cannot be used. The house has been designed that its systems can be operated continuously by diesel power generation even when photovoltaic energy cannot be generated due to long rainy season or heavy snow. BMS (batter management system) has been constructed for photovoltaic and power management, and monitors the charge/discharge and usage amount of photovoltaic energy. Various sensing data are recorded and transmitted automatically, and the design allows for wireless monitoring by means of computer and smartphone app. The container house proposed in this study enables efficient energy management by performing optimal energy operation in remote areas, parks, event venues, and construction sites where there is no system power source.

  • Economic and environmental concerns over fossil fuels encourage the development of photovoltaic(PV) energy systems. Due to the intermittent nature of solar energy. energy storage is needed in a stand-alone PV system for the purpose of ensuring continuous power flow. Grid-connected PV system that supply power in a critical load demand require to curb power fluctuation. In this case. SCB is a effectiveness in controlling power variation due to intrinsic PV system. We propose the Matlab/Simulink dynamic model and power flow characteristics of a hybrid energy system with PV and SCB.

  • This paper presents a current-source-inverter based on a buck-boost configuration and its application for residential photovoltaic system. The proposed circuit has five switches. Among them, only one switch acts as chopping, and the other determine the polarity of output; therefore, it can reduce the switching loss. Because the input inductor current is operated on the discontinuous conduction mode, high power factor can be achieved without additional input current controller. So the overall system shows a simple structure. The operational modes are analysed in depth, and then it was verified through the experimental results using a 150 [W] prototype equipped with digital signal processor TMS320F241.

  • This paper describes microprocessor-based control of photovoltaic power conditioning system. where the microprocessor is responsible for control of output power in accordance with the generated array DC power. The microprocessor includes the control algorithm of maximum power point tracking and converter control algorithm. In this power, we have designed a MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracker) algorithm with environment factors and a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm for high efficiency. The controller has been tested in the laboratory with the power conditioner and shows excellent performance.
