In this paper, an overview of anti-collision algorithm for RFID system of a standard EPC Class1 protocol is presented, and the binslotted dynamic search algorithm (BDS) based upon the slotted ALOHA and binary tree procedure is proposed and analyzed. Also, the performance is evaluated as comparing the BDS algorithm with the standard bin-slotted algorithm (BSA) through the simulation program. The performance of the proposed BDS algorithm is improved by dynamically identifying the collided-bit position and the collided bins stored in the stack of the reader. As the results, the number of request command that a reader send to tags in the reader s interrogation zone and the total recognition time are decreased to 59% as compared with BSA algorithm. Therefore, the tag identification performance is fairly improved by resolving a collision problem using the proposed BDS algorithm.
We have detected cracks inside multi-layer metal sheets with nondestructive evaluation system consisting of SQUID gradiometer. Double D-shape coil was carefully designed with computer simulation for spatial distribution of magnetic field. It was aligned and placed in between SQUID and metal sheets in order to reduce the field effect to SQUID and to maximize eddy current in the sheets. The metal plate in bottom of the metal stack contained artificial cracks which were scanned by an X-Y scanning system. The information of crack position and size could be estimated by analysis of SQUID signal. Details of the results will be discussed .
A powered system with fuel cell is regarded as a high current and low voltage source. Effects of the loads on the electrical power source are important to optimize the integrated power system. The design parameters of the system should be chosen by taking into account the characteristics of the fuel cell, so the costs of the power system at given operating conditions can be reduced. Furthermore, the dynamics characteristic of the system is crucial to acquire performance in applications, particularly interactions between loads and the fuel cell system. Currently, no integrated simulation has been approached to analyze interrelated effects. Therefore, the dynamic models of power conversion system with a PEM fuel cell that includes the PEM fuel cell stack, DC/DC converter and associated controls is developed. Electric lads for the system are derived by using a power theory that separates a load current into active, reactive, distortion or a mixed current component. Dependency of the DC capacitor on the loads are analyzed.
Molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) power plant is expected to be one of the most promising future power generation system for the electric utilities because of its high efficiency, environmental suitability and capability of using coal as fuel. To get such attractive performance, it is necessary to consider optimizing operation and gas recycling system. This paper describes the simulation results of 7 kW MCFC stack in KEPRI and the effects of the three possible gas recycling operations, i.e. cathode gas recycling, anode gas recycling, anode gas recycling with catalytic burner.
In this paper a power conditioning system suitable for the fuel cell powered off-road vehicle is proposed. The proposed system employs a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell stack combined with boost converter, a super capacitor module combined with hi-directional buck-boost converter, a 4-quadrant DC chopper and a permanent magnet DC motor. The momentary overload condition occurring during the motor starting is handled by the energy stored in the supercapacitor module. Also, the regenerative energy can be stored in the supercapacitor module by operating the system in either buck or boost mode. This capability gives the system designer the higher flexibility in designing the system and assures the lower cost of the system. The validity and feasibility of the proposed system is proven by the computer simulation.

This paper describes the motivation, design and performance of bi-active Load balancer in Linux Virtual Server. The goal of bi-active Load balancer is to provide a framework to build highly scalable, fault-tolerant services using a large cluster of commodity servers. The TCP/IP stack of Linux Kernel is extended to support three IP load balancing techniques, which can make parallel services of different kinds of server clusters to appear as a service on a single IP address. Scalability is achieved by transparently adding or removing a node in the cluster. and high availability is provided by detecting node or daemon failures and reconfiguring the system appropriately. Extensive simulation reveals that the proposed approach improves the reply rate about 20% compared to earlier design.
Fuel cell is remarkable for one of the clean energy recently. But in the fuel cell case, it has characteristics with low voltage and high current. Therefore, for using domestic power, it should be changed to the power source with commercial voltage and frequency. In this paper fuel cell simulator having electrical characteristics is designed and constructed instead of fuel cell stack. Voltage generated from fuel cell is from 39V to 72V dc and should be boosted to 400V dc for home appliances. A stand alone system including the inverter and DC/DC converter for the fuel cell is then proposed. Simulation result is used to support the analysis.

This paper proposes a new power conditioning system for the fuel cell power generation, which consists of a ZVS DC-DC converter and 3-phase inverter. The ZVS DC-DC converter with a digital controller boosts the fuel cell voltage of 26-50V up to 400V, and the grid-tie inverter controls the active power delivered to the grid. The operation of proposed power conditioning system was verified through simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was verified through experimental works with a laboratory prototype, which was built with 1.2kW PEM fuel-cell stack, 1kW DC-DC converter, and 3kW PWM inverter. The proposed system can be utilized to commercialize an interconnection system for the fuel-cell power generation.

The imbalance at the 3-phase side at the railway power supply substation has been a well-known issue. Due to the difference in status of loads at each phase at any given moment, it is difficult to maintain the balance in the 2-phase side of the transformer. Consequently, the 3-phase side also presents a certain level of imbalance as well. A co-phase power supply was proposed as a solution. The real application of such system is gradually expanding, proving the effectiveness of the system. In this paper, the application of the single phase D-Q rotating frame theory was applied to the control of the co-phase power supply system. In addition, the power stack of the system was composed of MMC valves, which offers superior operational characteristics. The effectiveness of the system was verified with a real-time simulation, and the results are presented.
