  • Gear is general mechanical elements that used for power transmission between two shafts that interval is comparatively short. and it delivers big power as accurate ratio of speed. The profile of Spur gear which is the most basic factor is divided into Trochoidal fillet curve and Involute curve. Involute curve is used a lot of a shaped curve of machine parts such as a gear, a scroll compressor and a collar of centrifugal pump. However, it is poor to study the modeling of Trochoidal fillet curve and the three dimensions model shaped mathematical curve. This paper describes a mathematical model of profile shifted involute gear. and this model is based on Camus's theory. We draw three dimensions gear have accurate mathematical function using ADS, VisualLISP. and To check accuracy and perfection, we make a program of checking Interference. and use for this study.

헬리컬기어에서 나선각과 치폭의 변화에 따른 이뿌리응력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Root Fillet Stress Analysis of Helical Gear due to Helix Angle and Face Width)

  • In this paper, the FEM(Finite Element Method) has been applied to understand the geometrical characteristics and to analyze the stress of a helical gear. The helical gear is simulated and analyzed by adding many thin spur gear with helix angles and twist angles. Helical gears with different helix angle and face width have been studied. The results show that the root fillet stress is increased proportionally to helix angle and face width. Namely, as the face width increases, root fillet stress decreases, and as helix angle gets bigger, root fillet stress increases.

  • A six-degree-of-freedom dynamic model with time-varying mesh stiffness/damping and friction has been developed for the dynamic analysis of a gear driving system. This model includes a spur gear pair, bearing, friction and prime mover. Using Newton???s method, equations of motion for the gear driving system were derived. Two computer programs are developed to calculate mesh stiffness, transmission error and friction force and analyze the dynamics of the modeled system using a time integration method. The influences of mesh stiffness/damping, bearing, and friction affecting the system were investigated by performing eigenvalue analysis and time response analysis. It is found that the reduction of the maximum peak magnitude by friction is decided according to designing the positions of pitch point and maximum peak in the responses.

  • 본 고에서는 자동차용 수동변속기에 사용되는 평치차 및 헬리컬 치차에 대해서 설계조건과 설계절차 및 방법에 관해서 논하고자 한다. 자동차용 변속기의 치차 설계자는 gear box내의 좁은 공간에서 가장 정숙하고 튼튼하고, 소형.경량화된 치차를 설계하기 위해서는 module, 공구압력각, 치높이, 치선원경 등이 표준에서 벗어나는 특수 cutter를 이용하여 제작되도록 치차 설계를 할 수 밖에 없으나 자동차용 치차가 대량 생산되는 점에 비추어 볼때 특수 cutter를 사용하는데 드는 비용은 문제가 되지 않는다고 본다.

  • In general, there has been a lot of research concerned about the gear noise known to be proportional to gear transmission error for external gears likewise spur, helical gear, and hypoid gears. But, In the case of planetary gear set, gear noise study is insufficient because of the difficulty of designing, manufacturing, and understanding of the its mechanical system. This study is aimed to develop the transmission error measurement equipment for the planetary gear sets used in the automatic transmission. By comparing the results of the transmission error and noise objectively, user could select the optimized planetary gear set which has quiet noise level before manufacturing the automatic transmission.

PIM기술을 이용한 마이크로 부품 성형기술 (Manufacturing technology of micro parts by powder injection molding)

  • Manufacturing technologies of micro spur gear and micro mold by micro PIM were studied with stainless steel feedstock. For molding of gears, micro mold with gear cavity of 1.2 mm in diameter was produced by wire EDM. The proper injection pressure was selected to 70bar by observation and measuring of shapes and shrinkage of gears before/after sintering. For fabrication of micro mold, a tiny polymer gear was produced by injection into the mold. Then, 316L feedstock was again injected/compressed on the polymer gear and debinded together with polymer gear followed by sintering. As a result, another metal mold with gear cavity reduced to about 20% was fabricated and through repetition of this process chain, micro gear mold with cavity about below 800 um was finally obtained. In reduction of size by injection/compression molding, height of gear tooth was shrunk more and the effort for decrease of roughness of micro cavity were carried out ultrasonic polishing and as a result, the roughness in cavity decreased from 3-4 um to about 200 nm.

헬리컬 유성감속기 기반 선박용 터닝기어 개발 (Development of Marine Turning Gear Based on Helical Planetary Reducer)

  • A marine turning gear is the main auxiliary machine that enables the disassembly of and maintenance on the main engines. In this study, a marine turning gear based on a helical planetary reducer was developed through analysis of a marine turning gear based on a spur planetary reducer. Nonlinear numerical analysis was performed to determine the ideal contact ratio between the sun gear and the idle gear. Based on this, the surface durability, tooth bending strength, and contact ratio were calculated. In addition, the helix direction was selected to utilize the existing bearings. Gears were manufactured based on the helical gear design values, and the turning gear was evaluated using the FTA standards of MAN Co. Ltd. As a result, a lifetime of 3,000 to 5,000 hours was verified, the maximum torque measured was 105kNm, and the efficiency was measured to be 87.4%.

  • It is very important to have exact informations on the properties and characteristics of the sintered steel as a new material of machine elements. The bending fatigue tests are performed for sintered steel bend specimens and spur gears, which are notched by using a slicing blade. The fatigue test at a constant stress amplitude is performed by using an electrohydraulic servo-controlled pulsating tester Consequently, the S-N curves are obtained and the fatigue strength. is compared with flaw depth. Accordingly, this study presents the fatigue strength of sintered spur gears, the critical notch depth of sintered steel and the effects of flaw depth on the bending fatigue strength. The enhancement of fatigue strength due to carburized treatment is clarified.
