장기보존된 비상품과를 이용한 포도 분말 제조에 관한 연구 (Investigation on Powder Production using less Commercial Grapes Resulted from Long-term Storage)

  • In an attempt to test experimental condition of preparing grape powder, grapes having less commercial value was used and tried. With drying method, spray and freeze drying were satisfactory to produce power. Moisture content and odor retention were better by the latter method. Three grape strains stored for 40 days contained more odors than those stored for 5 days. Maltose 90% plus dextrin 10% was suitable for drying support. To increase odror sense, citric acid and vitamin C can be added up to 0.1 and 0.2%, respectively. Considering these conditions, grape complex powder prapared from grape powder 20% comprising drying support, glucose 79.7%, citric acid 0.1%, vitamin C 0.2% with freeze drying was the best by overall evaluation including sensory test. When campbell and neomuscut were mixed by 15:5 or 10:10, sensory evaluation was also ameliorated.

  • YAG phosphor powders were fabricated by the atmospheric plasma spraying method with the spray-dried spherical YAG precursor. The YAG precursor slurry for the spray drying process was prepared by the PVA solution chemical processing utilizing a domestic easy-sintered aluminum oxide (Al2O3) powder as a seed. The homogenous and viscous slurry resulted in dense granules, not hollow or porous particles. The synthesized phosphor powders demonstrated a stable YAG phase, and excellent fluorescence properties of approximately 115% compared with commercial YAG:Ce3+ powder. The microstructure of the phosphor powder had a perfect spherical shape and an average particle size of approx imately 30 ㎛. As a result of the PKG test of the YAG phosphor powder, the synthesized phosphor powders exhibited an outstanding luminous intensity, and a peak wavelength was observed at 531 nm.

Fluidized bed granulation을 이용한 참기름의 저온 미세캡슐화 (Low-Temperature Microencapsulation of Sesame Oil Using Fluidized Bed Granulation)

  • 식품의 원료인 참기름을 캡슐화하기 위해 전보(11)에서 최적화한 model system을 기초로 피복물질을 선정하고 이에 3%의 gellan gum을 첨가한 후 유화압력을 20.7 MPa로 하여 유화액을 제조하였다. 이를 top spray dryer와 fluidized bed granulator에 의한 공정으로 캡슐을 제조하여 캡슐화 수율, surface oil, 수분함량, 입자 크기, 캡슐의 저장 안정성 및 제품 응용성을 비교하였다. Fluidized bed granulator에 의한 캡슐은 top spray dryer에 의한 캡슐보다 상대적으로 surface oil 함량이 낮고 수율이 높으며 입자 크기가 컸다. 제조한 캡슐을 $37^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 flavor retention을 측정한 결과 참기름 원료 자체를 저장한 경우 향기 성분은 1% 이하의 잔존 함량을 나타내어 대부분의 향기 성분이 소실되었다고 보았으나, top spray dryer와 fluidized bed granulator에 의한 캡슐은 각각 37%, 42%의 향기성분을 보유하여 향기 성분 포집성 및 보존성이 우수하였다. 또한 쇠고기 죽 제품에 응용한 후 관능검사 결과에서도 참기름 캡슐을 사용한 제품들이 모두 참기름 원료 자체를 사용한 제품보다 풍미의 강도 및 기호도면에서 모두 높았고 특히 fluidized bed granulator를 이용하여 제조한 캡슐을 사용한 제품이 가장 우수하게 평가되었다. 따라서 참기름 원료와 같이 향기 성분이 소실 되기 쉬운 소재를 fluidized bed granulator를 이용하여 저온 미세 캡슐화하면 풍미의 안정성 증대에 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

수평 분무식 해양심층수 소금의 성분 특성 (Characteristics of Chemical Contents of Horizontal Spray Salts from Deep Ocean Water)

  • We have developed a new method of manufacturing salts by horizontal spray drying technique, using the concentrated deep ocean water after desalination processes. We studied the chemical characteristics of the spray-dried salts. Sodium content in the spray salts is $28.4\%$, which is $10-30\%$ lower than that of bay salts, bamboo salts and boiling salts $(32-38.2\%)$. However, the contents of magnesium, potassium and calcium of the spray salts are 2.5 times, 3 times and 4.5 times higher relative to those of bay salts, respectively. On the one hand, sulfur content in spray salts is 14 times lower than those of bay salts, which is caused by their volatilization during spray and vaporization of the concentrated seawater. Enrichment factors of Mg (0.8), K (0.9) and Ca (1.0) in the spray salts are relatively higher than those in bay salt (0.2-0.3), bamboo salt (0.15-0.4) and boiled salt (0.4-0.7), respectively. On the contrary, enrichment factor of sulfur in spray salts is observed to be 0.07, which is considerably lower than those in other salts (0.3-0.7). It means that the minerals like Mg, K and Ca can be well conserved from seawater to salts through spray drying techniques, while volatile elements like sulfur, lead, mercury and organic compounds can be easily removed from seawater via spray and heating processes.

물리적 처리가 잉크젯 코팅지 생산 과정 중에 발생되는 컬에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Physical Treatments on Curl in Inkjet Coated Paper During Papermaking)

  • In this paper, the effects of roll diameter and storage time in roll form, bending method and relative humidity on curl in copy paper and inkjet coated papers are investigated. In copy paper, more MD curl is showed at smaller roll diameter and the extension of bending time. However CD curl is hardly influenced by roll diameter and bending time. At high relative humidity, especially CD curl largely reduces. All inkjet coated papers without the primary or the secondary back coating during papermaking show the increase in MD curl and slight decrease in CD curl by MD bending regardless of the winding methods(TSO, TSI). The water spray as back coating results in the remarkable reduction of CD curl regardless of the winding methods. Drying on flat dryer after spraying the moisture on back side display the most excellent effect on the reduction of CD curl.

분무건조기술을 이용한 어유의 미세캡슐화 (Microencapsulation of Fish Oil by Spray Drying using Different Wall Materials)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different wall material on the microencapsulation efficiency of microcapsules containing fish oil. The present work reports on the microencapsulation of fish oil by spray drying using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) 2910, maltodextrin, gelatin, sodium caseinate as wall materials. The emulsion stability was assessed by emulsion stability index value (ESI). The microstructural properties of microcapsules was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and microencapsulation efficiency (ME) was assessed by soxhlet method. The highest ESI and ME were observed in the case of a 1:1 gelatin/sodium caseinate ratio and 1:1 glycerin fatty acid ester/lecithin ratio, and ME of microcapsules was increased with increasing the ESI of emulsion. Thus, the stability of emulsion was a critical factor for the encapsulation of fish oil.

Study on the Granulation Behavior of TiO2-PVA Composite Powders Prepared Via Spray Drying Technique

  • In this study, TiO2-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composite granules were prepared via spray drying technique. To investigate the effects of solid content and binder/powder ratio in the slurry on the granulation behavior of TiO2 powders, the feed compositions were designed to vary over a wide range. The morphology, actual densities, and average granule size and size distribution of the TiO2-PVA composite granules were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy technique, a gas pycnometer, and an image analyzing program (Image-J), respectively. The results indicate that solid content and the amount of PVA in the feedstock slurry are the dominant factors determining the granule morphology, size, and size distribution of TiO2-PVA composite. Moreover, it was observed that increasing the solid content and the amount of PVA in the slurry improved the granulation process and reduced the granule defects. For the preparation of spherical TiO2-PVA composite granules with the minimum amount of non-granulated powders, the optimized composition of the feedstock slurry was found to be 35 wt.% solid and 3 wt.% PVA.

Whey Protein Concentrate, Pullulan, and Trehalose as Thermal Protective Agents for Increasing Viability of Lactobacillus plantarum Starter by Spray Drying

  • It is necessary to add protective agents for protecting the probiotic viability in the preparation process of probiotics starter. In this study, we used whey protein concentrate (WPC), pullulan, trehalose, and sodium glutamate as the protective agent and optimized the proportion of protective agent and spray-drying parameters to achieve the best protective effect on Lactobacillus plantarum. Moreover, the viable counts of L. plantarum in starter stored at different temperatures (-20℃, 4℃, and 25℃) for 360 days were determined. According to response surface method (RSM), the optimal proportion of protective agent was 24.6 g/L WPC, 18.8 g/L pullulan, 16.7 g/L trehalose and 39.3 g/L sodium glutamate. The optimum spray-drying parameters were the ratio of bacteria to protective agents 3:1 (v: v), the feed flow rate 240 mL/h, and the inlet air temperature 115℃ through orthogonal test. Based on the above results, the viable counts of L. plantarum was 12.22±0.27 Log CFU/g and the survival rate arrived at 85.12%. The viable counts of L. plantarum stored at -20℃ was more than 1010 CFU/g after 200 days.

분무건조법을 이용한 한약추출물 해충기피 실리카 졸의 다공성 방충입자의 제조 (Preparation of Porous Anti-Insect Repellent Powder Using Spray Drying of Medicinal Herbal Extracts Anti-Insect Repellent Silica Sol)

  • 한약재에서 추출한 해충기피용액과 실리카를 혼합하여 해충기피 실리카 졸을 제조하고, 분무건조법을 이용하여 마이크로 단위의 해충기피용액이 포함된 다공성 구형 분말을 제조하였다. 분무건조법을 통해 제조된 해충기피 분말의 특성분석을 위해 해충기피 졸의 농도(해충기피용액, 실리카) 및 분무 건조 장비의 조건에 따라 분말 모폴로지, 입자크기별 입경분포, 열적 안정성 분석을 실시하였다. 해충기피 졸의 농도가 4, 7 wt% 및 10 wt%일 때 각각 평균 입자 크기가 8.3, $9.5{\mu}m$$11.7{\mu}m$ 순으로 농도가 증가할수록 분말의 직경이 커졌다. 반면에 빠른 가스 주입속도 상태에서 노즐입구온도 및 용액주입속도 증가에 의한 분말 입경의 증가는 미미하였다. 또한, 열중량 분석법을 통하여, 구형의 다공성 분말 안에 해충기피 용액이 담지 되어있고, 이들은 $200^{\circ}C$까지 열적 안정성이 확보됨을 확인하였다. 분무건조를 통한 해충기피 분말은 평균 $9{\sim}10{\mu}m$이고, 열적 안정성을 가지므로 컴파운딩 및 필름제조공정에 응용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
