  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in the performance of dancing motions depending on the level of skill by investigating pulmonary functions, ground reaction force, and jerk cost. The subjects of this study were 12 professional dancers (career: 16 yrs) and 12 amateur dancers (career: 9 yrs) who had similar physical conditions. We selected four motion phases which included the diagonal line motion, the deep flexion motion, the breath motion, and the turn motion with one leg after a small step walking motion, with Goodguri Jangdan. In the experiment, 6 infrared cameras were installed in order to analyze the value of the jerk costs and the force plate form. Finally, we measured the pulmonary functions of the subjects. For data analysis, independent t-tests according to each event, were carried out in the data processing. According to the results of FVC % Predicted, the professional dancers showed greater lung capacities than the amateur dancers, indicating that the level of dancing skill influences lung capacity. Based on the result of the balance test, the professional dancers used more vertical power than did the amateur dancers when performing maximal flexion motion. The professional dancers used a propulsive force of pushing their body forward by keeping the center of body higher while the amateur dancers used a braking power by keeping their bodies backward. When performing medial-lateral movements, the amateur dancers were less stable than the professional dancers. There were no differences in values of jerk costs between the amateur dancers and the professional dancers.

  • This study was to compare the major kinematic factors between the success and failure group on performing the back somersault motion in floor exercise. Three gymnasts(height : $167.3{\pm}2.88cm$, age : $22.0{\pm}1.0years$, body weight : $64.4{\pm}2.3kg$) were participated in this study. The kinematic data was recorded at 60Hz with four digital video camera. Two successful motions and failure motions for each subject were selected for three dimensional analysis. 1. Success Trail It was appear that success trail was larger than failure group in projection velocity, but success trail was smaller than failure trail in projection angle. Also it was appear that success trail was longer than failure group in the time required. Hand segment velocity and maximum velocity in success trail were larger than those in failure trail, and this result was increasing the projection velocity and finally increasing the vertical height of center of mass. At the take-off(event 2), flection amount of hip and knee joint angle was contributed to the optimal condition for the take-off and at the peak point, hip and knee joint angle was maximum flexed for reducing the moment of inertia. Also in this point, upper extremities of success trail extended more than those of failure trail. in this base, success trail in upward phase(p3) 2. Failure Trail It was appear that failure trail was smaller than success trail in projection velocity, but failure trail was larger than success trail in projection angle. Also it was appear that failure trail was more short than success trail in the time required. Hand segment velocity and maximum velocity in failure trail were smaller than those in success trail, and this result was reducing the projection velocity and finally reducing the vertical high of center of mass. At the take-off(event 2), flection amount of hip and knee joint angle wasn't contributed to the optimal condition for the take-off and at the peak point, hip and knee joint angle wasn't maximum flexed for reducing the moment of inertia. Also in this point, upper extremities of failure trail didn't extended more than those of success trail.

  • The purpose of the study is to search for the possibility of the application of kinematics analysis to physical education at schools and expand its scope of application. This study chose 9 college students majoring in physical education and classified them into type A group who can make the straight, vertical handstand, type B group whose waist is bent, type C group who cannot handstand completely. The center of mass, distance between hand and leg, and the angle and angular velocity of each joint were obtained. The result of this study is this. 1. The time for CM showed 6:4 for A group and 5:5 for B and C groups. The distance between hand and foot in the event 3 was 44% of the height for A group, and 41% for B and C groups. A Group showed the higher CM positional significant difference, it was vertically direction below the hip joint at front. For significant difference of the B Group showed horizontal and vertical velocity of the CM, the highest vertical was obtained in phase 3. The difference of angle of shoulder join in the flexion/extension was showed gradually extension event 2 and the height angular velocity was at phase 3 in the A group. 2 The analysis of the handstand motion revealed that the phase 3, but the maintenance of posture start part the handstand is also very important. Through these results, this study confirmed that the time for phase of the CM, horizontal and vertical positions, velocity, the distance between hands and foot, and the difference of the angle and angular velocity of hip joint and shoulder joint can be set as the variables of analysis. It was also definite cause that the handstand motions of college students majoring in physical education had many difference in performance.

  • This study is to analyze the kinematic variables of inward $1{\frac{1}{2}}$ somersault in platform diver. For the manner, 3 people form the national diving team in the year 2000were chosen as the subjects and two S-VHS video cameras set in 60frames/sec were used for recording their motions. Coordinated raw positions data through digitizing are smoothing by butter-worth's low-pass filterin method at a cut off frequency 6.0Hz. and the direct linear transformation(DLT) method was employed to obtain 3-D position coordinates. The conclusions were as follows. However, horizontal distance which is the change of the COG, form the point of the jump to the point of Event 3 where the player is out of the board range completely, Subject B showed 105.1cm and 71.1cm of the vertical distance which are shorter horizontal distance and higher vertical distance, thus, took a great advantage of the position to prepare for the entry. Therefore, if a player takes higher position by speeding up the vertical velocity at the moment of the jumping off the board, and stays in the air longer, the player can have more time to show his skill. Because of the use of the characteristics of the inward somersault, keeping the safe distance form the board is important but in order to higher the completeness, it is ideal to keep the horizontal distance little over 100cm. Also, the angles of shoulder and elbow from Event 1 to 4, depending on swing of the arms, motions in the air, getting ready for the entry, showed some difference individual by individual, according to the velocity of the thigh and shank showed much difference while getting ready and take-off, and it's because of the individual's different bending and straightening for horizontal and vertical distance.

  • The purpose of this study was done in order to investigate the Kinematical variables of the Rybalko motion on the Horizontal bar using the 3-dimensional cinematographic method. For this study, three excellent athletes take part in a 2003 Daegue universid game were chosen. The subject,s Rybalko motion was filmed with S-VHS camera at the speed of 60 fields per second and digitized the each fields. And the Kwon3D 3.1 version program was employed to obtain 3-dimensional data. As a result of this study. 1. A total time spent for performing Rybalko skill was Mean $2.52{\pm}0.13sec$. From starting down swing to releasing right hand the Mean $0.84{\pm}0.24sec$ was taken. 2. In the event 3 of Rybalko motion, that is, the moment which the right-hand is released on the bar, the center of mass must is employed at the position above the horizontal line of bar. In this research, the average vertical displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 3. In the event 5, that is, the moment which the right-hand is catched again on the bar, the center of mass is employed at the position before the vertical line of bar. In this research, the average horizontal displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 4. It has been seen that, at the moment of release of right-hand, lateral variation of center of mass is 13.395cm, vertical variation of center of mass is 7.41cm Thus, it is concluded that lateral variation of center of mass should be reduced for high grade to be acquired. 5. It has been founded that high speed of down swing influences speed of up swing, and that, in the motion of twist, the horizontal speed is little changed.
