A New FeedForward(FF) Timing Estimation Technique for High-Speed Transmission of Bursts (고속의 버스트 전송을 위한 새로운 피드포워드 타이밍 추정 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 TDMA 방식의 고속의 버스트 데이터 전송에서 프리앰블의 오버샘플링 데이터 값을 이용한 새로운 피드포워드 타이밍 추정 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 추정 기법은 검출 오류 분산 값 (DEV : Detection Error Variance) 측면에서 기존의 여러 타이밍 추정기법과 MCRB (Modified Cramer-Rao Bound)와 비교되어 진다. 또한, 제안된 타이밍 추정 기법을 고정 샘플링 클럭과 타이밍 보정기로서 보간 필터를 이용한 심볼 동기 블록을 적용하여 이상적인 경우의 BER과 그 성능을 비교한 결과 이상적인 경우에 비해 성능 저하가 BER이 $10^{-3}$인 지점에서 최대 0.2dB 이내임을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents an adaptive approach to control the amount of slip of the torque converter bypass clutch using its estimated friction coefficient. The proposed approach can be readily implemented using the inexpensive speed sensors currently installed in an automobile. A measurement feedback control law to drive the slip error to zero together with an adaptation law to identify the unknown friction coefficient is developed using the Lyapunov control design method. The robustness of the control and adaptation laws to parametric and/or torque uncertainties as well as the convergence of the friction coefficient are investigated. Simulation results verify the viability of the proposed control algorithm in real-world vehicle control applications.

  • In this paper, author consider the nonlinear control by using feedback linearization for independent control and estimation algorithm such as speed, rotor flux and rotor resistance to achieve sensorless control of induction motor. The dynamic characteristics of the proposed nonlinear control algorithm is verified by simulation.

The effect of international oil price on LNG price in South Korea and Japan

  • In this paper, we investigate the differences between LNG price of South Korea and Japan. Although S. Korean and Japanese LNG markets have similar structures, there are some differences in the price formation. From DCC-MGARCH, we confirm that Japan LNG price have less persistence of disturbance on time than S. Korean LNG price. The conditional correlation also shows linkage effects between LNG prices and impacts of S-curve and DS-curve. Moreover, ARDL estimation result shows that there is co-integration in all models and that impacts of Fukushima accident and LNG volumes are responsible for the increase in Japanese LNG price. Also, adjustment speed of error correction term shows that Japan's deviation from long-run equilibrium disappears faster than S. Korea does, indicating relatively strong Japanese linkage between LNG price and oil price.

  • 본 논문은 PMSM 센서리스 운전 중에 적은 속도 오차로 플라잉스타트하는 방법을 제안한다. 철도 차량 운전시 손실을 줄이기 위해 인버터의 스위치를 모두 off하고 관성으로만 운전하는 타행운전을 자주 하게 되는데 센서리스 운전시 타행운전 상태에서 회전자의 속도와 위치를 알 수 없어 문제가 된다. 따라서 플라잉스타트에서 회전자의 속도와 위치를 빠르게 추정할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 기존의 방법은 플라잉스타트에서 3번의 영전압 합성을 통해 회전자의 속도와 위치를 추정해 내는 방법인데, 이 때 전류 정보에 오차가 존재할 경우 속도와 위치 오차가 발생하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서 4번의 영전압 합성을 통해 전류 정보에 오차로 인한 속도와 위치 오차를 저감시킬 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

  • The sensorless control of high efficiency air compressors using a permanent magnet type synchronous motor as an oil-free air compressor is quite common. However, due to the nature of the air compressor, it is difficult to install a position sensor. In order to control the permanent magnet type synchronous motor at variable speed, the inclusion of a position sensor to grasp the position of the rotor is essential. Therefore, in order to achieve sensorless control, it is essential to use a permanent magnet type synchronous motor in the compressor. The position estimation method based on the back electromotive force, which is widely used as the sensorless control method, has a limitation in that position errors occur due either to the phase delay caused by the use of a stationary coordinate system or to the estimated back electromotive force in the transient state caused by the use of a synchronous coordinate system. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method of estimating the position and velocity using a rotation angle tracking observer and reducing the speed ripple through a disturbance observer. An experimental apparatus was constructed using Freescale's MPU and the feasibility of the proposed algorithm was examined. It was confirmed that even if a position error occurs at a certain point in time, the position correction value converges to the actual vector position when the position error value is found.

  • Recently, 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has developed device-to-device (D2D) communication to cope with the explosively increasing mobile data traffic. The D2D communication uses sidelink based on single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FMDA) due to its low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In addition, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) is designed to support multiple input multiple output (MIMO). In this paper, we propose the DFT-based channel estimation scheme for sidelink in D2D communication. The proposed scheme uses the 2-Dimensional Minimum Mean Square Error (2-D MMSE) interpolation scheme for the user moving at a high speed. We perform the system level simulation based on 20MHz bandwidth of 3GPP LTE-Advanced system. Simulation results show that the proposed channel estimation scheme can improve signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), throughput and spectral efficiency of conventional scheme.

Performance Evaluation of Channel Estimation for WCDMA Forward Link with Space-Time Block Coding Transmit Diversity (시공간 블록 부호 송신 다이버시티를 적용한 WCDMA 하향 링크에서 채널 추정기의 성능 평가)

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a moving average (MA) channel estimation filter when space-time block coding transmit diversity (STBC-TD) is applied to the wideband direct sequence code division multiple access (WCDMA) forward link. And we present the infinite impulse response (IIR) filter scheme that can reduce the required memory buffer and the channel estimation delay time. This paper also compares the performance between MA filter scheme and IIR filter scheme in various Rayleigh fading channel environments through the bit error rate (BER) and the frame error rate (FER). Extensive computer simulation results show that transmission with STBC-TD provides a significant gain in performance over no transmit diversity technique, particularly at pedestrian speeds. If STBC-TD technique is employed in the channel estimator based on MA filter, it provides considerable performance gains against Rayleigh fading and reduces the optimum filter tap number. Consequently, the channel estimation delay time and the complexity of the receiver are reduced. In addition, the channel estimator based on IIR filter has the advantages such as little memory requirement and no delay time compared to the MA scheme. However, IIR filter coefficients is very sensitive to the mobile speed change and it exerts a serious influence upon the performance. For that reason, it is important to set uP the optimum IIR filter coefficients.

Development of a Freeway Travel Time Estimating and Forecasting Model using Traffic Volume (차량검지기 교통량 데이터를 이용한 고속도로 통행시간 추정 및 예측모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to develop travel time estimation and prediction models on the freeway using measurements from vehicle detectors. In this study, we established a travel time estimation model using traffic volume which is a principle factor of traffic flow changes by reviewing existing travel time estimation techniques. As a result of goodness of fit test. in the normal traffic condition over 70km/h, RMSEP(Root Mean Square Error Proportion) from travel speed is lower than the proposed model, but the proposed model produce more reliable travel times than the other one in the congestion. Therefore in cases of congestion the model uses the method of calculating the delay time from excess link volumes from the in- and outflow and the vehicle speeds from detectors in the traffic situation at a speed of over 70km/h. We also conducted short term prediction of Kalman Filtering to forecast traffic condition and more accurate travel times using statistical model The results of evaluation showed that the lag time occurred between predicted travel time and estimated travel time but the RMSEP values of predicted travel time to observations are as 1ow as that of estimation.

Underwater object radial velocity estimation method using two different band hyperbolic frequency modulation pulses with opposite sweep directions and its performance analysis (두 대역 상반된 스윕방향 hyperbolic frequency modulation 펄스로 수중물체 시선속도추정 기법 및 성능분석)

  • In order to estimate the radial speed of an underwater object so-called target with active sonar, Continuous Wave (CW) pulse is generally used, but if a target is slow and at near distance, it is not easy to estimate the radial velocity of the target due to acoustic reverberation in the ocean. In 2017, Wang et al. utilized broadband signal of two Hyperbolic Frequency Modulation (HFM) pulses, which is known as a doppler-invariant pulse, with equal frequency band and in opposite sweep directions to overcome this problem and successfully estimate the radial speed of slow-moving nearby target. They demonstrated the estimation of the radial velocity with computer simulation using the parameters of two HFM starting time differences and receiving times. However, for it uses two HFM pulses with equal frequency, cross-correlation between the two pulses negatively affect the detection performance. To mitigate this cross-correlation effect, we suggest using two different band HFM with the opposite sweep directions. In this paper, a method of radial velocity estimation is derived and simulated using two HFM pulses with the pulse length of 1 second and bandwidth of 400 Hz. Applying the suggested method, the radial velocity was estimated with approximately 6 % of relative error in the simulation.
