FFT해석을 이용한 기하학적 접촉조건에 따른 마찰거동예측 (Prediction of Frictional behavior according to geometrical contact condition using FFT-based analysis)

  • In this paper, FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) analysis of friction was suggested as a method to interpret the contact conditions. Micro-grooves with various dimensions were fabricated on the silicon surface to investigate the frictional behavior with respect to the change in geometrical contact condition. Frictional forces between micro-grooved surfaces and spheres modeled as surface asperities were measured using a micro-tribotester which was built inside a SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope). The experimental results show that the relative dimensions and distributions of contact asperities between two surfaces can be predicted by the power spectrum and the main frequency in FFT-based analysis of friction coefficient. Also, it was shown that the friction coefficient for multi-asperities was the result of the superposition of that for each asperity.

DMF로 처리된 PET Film의 표면모폴로지와 미세구조에 대한 연구 (A Studies on the Surface Morphology and Fine Structure of PET Film Treated by DMF)

  • As a simulation of solvent-assisted dyeing, the solvent effects on the structure of polyethylene terephthalate(PET) film treated by dimethylformamide(DMF) were investigated. The effects were evaluated by the atomic force microscopy(AFM) topographical changes and FT-IR spectrum analysis. PET films treated with DMF at $70^{\circ}C$ for several different treatment time(20, 40, and 60 min). AFM topography showed that, with increasing treatment time by DMF, PET surfaces became smooth due to the swelling phenomenon and the rigid structure changed into flexible state which was contributed to increase the surface area of PET films. FT-IR spectrum analysis showed that DMF and molecular chains of PET interacted each other via their polar carbonyl groups and that DMF also affected the out-of-plane bending vibration mode of phenyl ring of PET.

자동차 실내가스 $(CO_2)$ 농도변화에 대한 EEG 변화 연구 (The EEG Spectrum Analysis for the $(CO_2)$ gas Concentration Change in the Autonmobile)

  • The objectice of this study is to dvaluate the physical condition response of a drever by the change of CO$^{2}$ concentration in the automobile with EEG spectrum analysis. The experiment was performed in a semi-shielded simulated automobile with 10 healthy adults. The results showed that as CO$_{2}$ concentration increased from 500ppm to 6,000ppm, the $\alpha$' value significantly decreased(p*<0.05) while $\beta$' increased (p*<0.05). In a real parked automobile with 2 adult passengers, the CO$_{2}$ gas concintration reached at 6,000ppm in 15 minutes. These spectral data are in well agreement with the subject's verval statement of experiencing uncomfortableness when CO$_{2}$gas was increased ti over 5,000ppm. These results indecated that the EEG spectrum analysis can be appropriately used to assess physical condition of a driver in the changing automobile environment.

  • This study gives the vertical motion analysis due to changes in Submerged shape of Multi-Purpose Small Floating Body in irregular waves using the commercial code(MAXSURF v.20) based on the Panel method. To verify the commercial code prior to the analysis, we guarantees the reliability of this paper's results using the commercial code by comparing with the results of experimental results on Catamaran. The anlysis conditions are ITTC wave spectrum, each encounter angle. Finally, we analyze the result of ship's response spectra for vertical motions.

  • Detection methods for atrial tachycardia and atrial fibrillation on the time axis have the advantages of light operational load and are easy to apply to various applications. Despite these advantages, arrhythmia detection algorithm on the time axis cannot stand much noise such as motion artifacts, moreover the peak detection algorithm has high complexity. In this paper, we use a spectrum analysis method for the detection of atrial tachycardia and atrial fibrillation. By applying spectrum analysis and digital filtering on obtained electrogram signals, we can diagnose heart arrhythmia without using peak detection algorithm.

  • It has been recognized that damage control must become a more explicit design consideration. In an effort to develop design methods based on performance it is clear that the evaluation of the inelastic response is required. The methods available to the design engineer today are nonlinear time history analyses, or monotonic static nonlinear analyses, or equivalent static analyses with simulated inelastic influences. Some codes proposed the capacity spectrum method based on the nonlinear static(pushover) analysis to determine earthquake-induced demand given the structure pushover curve. This procedure is conceptually simple but iterative and time consuming with some errors. This paper presents a nonlinear direct spectrum method to evaluate seismic Performance of structure, without iterative computations, given the structural initial elastic period and yield strength from the pushover analysis, especially for multi degree of freedom structures. The purpose of this paper is to investigate accuracy and confidence of this method from a point of view of various earthquakes and unloading stiffness degradation parameters.

  • 무우 속의 매운 맛 성분을 용매추출법 ($CCl_4$,사용)으로 분리하여 RP-HPLC법에 의해 정제한 후에 관능검사에 의해 pungency test를 하고, UV spectrum분석, GC/MC 분석을 수행한 결과 4-methylthio-3-butenyl isothiocyanate 임을 확인하였다. RP-HPLC에서 mobile Phase로 70% acetonitrile을 사용하였는데, 정제된 4-methylthio-3-butenyl isothiocfanate는 단일 peak로 분리되어 나왔고 이때의 retention time은 5.2분이였다. 아울러 RP-TLC에서 Rf치는 0.9이었다.

  • This study describes a generation of artificial earthquake wane compatible with seismic design spectrum. In seismic response analysis of building structures, the input ground accelerations have considerable effect on dynamic characteristics of structures. Therefore, it is important to properly select input ground motions for seismic response analysis. In this paper, the artificial earthquake wave are generated according to previously recorded earthquake waves in past earthquake events. The artificial wave have identical phase angles to the recorded earthquake wane, and their overall response spectra are compatible with seismic design spectrum with 5% of critical viscous damping. Each simulated earthquake wave has a identical phase angles to the original recorded ground acceleration, and match to design response spectra in the range of period from 0.02 to 10.0 seconds. It is concluded that the artificial earthquake waves simulated in this paper ate applicable as input ground motions for a seismic response analysis of building structures.

  • This study investigates the effect of hysteretic characteristics to the Inelastic Demand Spectrum (IDS) which was expressed by an acceleration(Sa) and a displacement response spectrum (Sd). Elasto Perfectly Plastic(EPP) model is used in this study and inelastic demand spectrum (Sa vs, Sd) are obtained from a given target ductility ratio. For a given target ductility ratio IDS can be obtained by using nonlinear time history analysis of single degree of system with forth five recorded earthquake ground motions for stiff soil site. The effect EPP model under demand spectrum is investigated by ductility factor and natural frequency. According to the results obtained in this study IDS has dependency on ductility factor and natural frequency.

Study of the Resonance Structures of the Preionizing Spectrum of Molecular Hydrogen by Phase-shifted Multichannel Quantum Defect Theory

  • The resonance structure of the preionization spectrum of $H_2$ in the region immediately above its ionization threshold, ($^2{\sum}_{g}^{+}$, $\nu^+=0$, $N^+=0$) converging toward its rotationally excited ($\nu^+=0$, $N^+=2$) limit, is complicated due to perturbation by the vibrationally excited levels $7_{p\pi}\;v=1$ and $57_{p\pi}\;v=2$. The spectra of interlopers are separated from the rotationally preionizing Rydberg series to allow analysis of this complex resonance structure. Although only two vibrationally excited levels perturb the rotational preionization spectrum, at least 6 interloper Rydberg series participate in the complex spectrum over most of its energy range and more interloper series participate at a narrow range around $124500cm^{-1}$ in the spectrum. To allow handling of an arbitrary number of interloper series, MATLAB$^{(R)}$'s symbolic operation is used to perform on-the-fly formulation.
