DUST SHELL MODELS FOR LOW MASS-LOSS RATE OXYGEN-RICH AGB STARS

  • We investigate the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of low mass-loss rate O-rich asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars using the infrared observational data including the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) data. Comparing the results of detailed radiative transfer model calculations with observations, we find that the dust formation temperature is much lower than 1000 K for standard dust shell models. We find that the superwind model with a density-enhanced region can be a possible alternative dust shell model for LMOA stars.

  • This paper presents a method to determine the rolloff factors of both the digital terrestrial TV modulator and the bandpass filter (BPF) at the digital TV receiver input, using an analytical power spectral density model satisfying given co-channel and adjacent channel protection ratios for the digital terrestrial broadcasting services. Since the proposed method is very simple and effective to use, also can be used regardless of type of systems or modulation techniques, this method is expected to be applied to select some other digital terrestrial broadcasting system specifications.

  • Acoustic vibration analysis has been performed using random vibration analysis module of MSC/NASTRAN to evaluate the safety of the composite satellite antenna structure under the acoustic pressure from the launch vehicle. It was found that maximum $3\sigma$ stress by acoustic excitation was less than allowable stress.

  • In these days, customers require high-quality, high-performance, high-ride comfort for Automobile and then the automotive manufacturers concentrated on study of electrical, high-performance, low-cost of parts and sub-parts. In this paper, for ride comfort estimation PSD(Power Spectral Density) of acceleration at eight test point are measured, and then are calculated with new index of ride comfort. The new index of ride comfort developed for optimal design, real test, applied the actual. It can apply for various fields.

  • A procedure for the predictive control for structural vibration control in building subject to wind loads is presented. The building motions are modeled by the first mode of the response. Wind velocities are generated by the simulation using power spectral density function. Predictive control algorithm is the discrete-time formulation and that is developed as a control strategy that computes the control signal which makes the predicted process output equal to a desired process output. Results on the reduction of the dynamic response and control effectiveness of the algorithm are presented and discussed.

  • The advent of Third Generation (3G) communication systems, with their ability to process real-time multimedia applications and their large bandwidths, will greatly enhance mobile Internet access. Not only does Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and cdma2000 radio technology offer an advantageous density for voice in terms of spectral efficiency, it also supports higher rates and offers differentiated levels of duality of Service (QoS) for data applications. The early introduction of packet and multimedia technologies will be a key element in realizing a quick and successful return on the operator's investments in Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and cdma2000.

  • 탐지레이다 또는 TWS 레이다의 측정 정밀도는 추적 필터 설계에서 quantization 문제로써 고려해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 측정 정밀도가 추적필터에서 quantization 문제로 변환됨을 보이고 오차면적과 추정성능을 비교한다. 또한 오차면적을 줄이는 방안과 quantization이 존재하면 측정잡음과 관계한 공정잡음의 power spectral density를 선정함을 보인다.

  • This paper is concerned with the strong consistency of the estimators of the autocovariance function and the spectral density function for the autoregressive process in the case where only an amplitude modulated process with missing data is observed. These results will give a simple and practical sufficient condition for the strong consistency of those estimators. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the application of main result.

탄성계수에 대한 SA 손상도 곡선의 안정성 (Stability of SA Fragility Curves on Elastic Modulus)

  • In this paper, the stability of SA(Spectral Acceleration) fragility curves is studied for the two sets of elastic modulus of concrete. In doing that, general purpose structural analysis program and generally used probability density function are used. The results of structural analysis are represented by Bernoulli distribution which says damage or no damage. By the use of Maximum Likelihood Method, two parameters of lognormal distribution - median and standard deviation - are found. With them, the fragility curves are constructed.

  • As muscular contraction is sustained, the Fourier spectrum of the myoelectric signal is shifted toward the lower frequency. This spectral density is associated with muscle fatigue. This paper describes a quantitative measurement method that performs the measurement of localized muscle fatigue by tracking changes of median frequency based on stationary wavelet transform. Applying to the human masseter muscle, the proposed method offers the much information for muscle fatigue, comparing with the conventional FFT-based method for muscle fatigue measurement.
