  • We have investigated the spectral characteristics of semiconductor lasers locked to the external light injected from a modulated laser. study on FM sideband injection locking has shown that when SLs are locked to the target sidebands of the directly modulated ML, the presence of the unselected sidebands influences the resulting microwave signals. The unselected signals can produce the unwanted beat signals around the desired beat signal, which degrade the overall system performance. This analysis way to generate Giga HZ signal generation.

  • We demonstrate a simple method to multiply the repetition rate of an optical pulse train by a fiber Fabry-Parot interferometer (FFPI) spectral filtering. A stable 40 GHz pulse train at 1550 nm is successfully generated by removing unwanted spectral components of a 10 GHz actively mode-locked laser source by passing a high finesse FFPI.

  • In this paper we show that the limit of a convergent in-vertible sequence in the set of invertible elements Inv(A) in a Banach algebra A under a certain conditions is invertible and we investigate some properties of the spectral radius of banach algebra with unit.

  • Let T and S be bounded linear operators on Banach spaces X and y, respectively. A linear map A : X ${\rightarrow}$ y is said to be an intertwiner if AT - SA = 0. In this paper we study the relation between local spectral properties of T and S on the assumption of AT - SA = 0. We give some example of intertwiner with T and S.

  • Spectral analysis of a strictly stationary r-vector valued time series is considered under the assumption that some of the observations are missed due to some random failure. Statistical properties and asymptotic moments are derived. Asymptotic normality is discussed.

  • The streamfunction-vorticity equations for two-dimentional cavity flow are solved by a new finite element method which uses finite spectral basis functions as interpolation functions for rectangular elements. Results for several cases with different Renold's number are compared with benchmark solutions and found to be in well agreement.

  • The spectral eddy viscosity model is investigated through the large eddy simulation of the decaying and forced isotropic turbulence. It is shown that the widely accepted 'plateau and cusp' model overpredicts resolved kinetic energy due to the amplification of energy at intermediate wavenumbers. Whereas, the simple plateau model reproduces a correct energy spectrum. This result overshadows a priori tests based on the filtered DNS or experimental data. An alternative method for the validation of subgrid-scale model is discussed.

  • Results on the analytic behavior to the limiting spectral distribution of matrices of sample convariance type. studied in Marcenko and Pastur [2] are derived. using the Stieltjes transform it is shown that the limiting distrbution has a continuous derivative away from zero the derivative being analytic whenever it is positive and the behavior of it resembles the behavior of a square root function near the boundary of its support.

  • The use of frequency-dependent spectral element matrix (or exact dynamic stiffness matrix) in structural dynamics is known to provide very accurate solutions, while reducing the number of degrees-of-freedom to resolve the computational and cost problems. Thus, in the present paper, the spectral element model is formulated for the axially moving Timoshenko beam under a uniform axial tension. (omitted)

  • We have built a grating-based, high-resolution, spectral line-by-line pulse shaper. By controlling individual spectral lines of a mode-locked laser output, we demonstrate the interesting functionalities of the pulse shaper for arbitrary waveform generation, such as width tunable pulse generation, phase controlled waveform generation, microwave waveform generation, etc.
