The purpose of this paper is to forecast the future of library education in Korea. Toward this purpose, first, the historical events of library education in the United States of America and in the United Kingdom are introduced along with the IFLA Standards for Library Schools and the Unesco's General Information Programme. Secondly, the theoretical foundations of library education are extracted from the events. Thirdly, the factors influencing library education as well as library developments are identified, and, finally, the prospects of library education are forecasted in the light of the various factors in the Korean society and the theoretical foundations. The prospects are forecasted as follows: 1. The education for information science will be incorporated in library education. 2. The number of courses related to library services and uses will be increased. 3. The students should be provided with enough hands-on experiences to be familiar with new information technology. 4. The cooperation between library schools and libraries will be reinforced. 5. The departments of library science will cooperate with other departments in the universities in order to utilize the expertise and facilities. 6. The education of graduate schools will be specialized to produce subject specialist librarians and the undergraduate education will produce public and school librarians. 7. Opportunities for continuing education will be provided more and librarians encouraged to participate in those activities. 8. Library association should actively be involved in library education as a provider of continuing education or as a liaison between library schools and libraries. 9. The courses of foundations including library history, library research and preservation of culture will never be neglected.

박물관내 도서관은 인력, 예산, 조직내 인식 부족 등으로 본연의 기능을 전문적으로 수행하지 못하였다. 박물관내 도서관이 전문도서관으로서 보다 발전하기 위한 전략을 해외사례에서 찾고자 하였다. 그 결과, 관리자에서 수집가로서 사서의 역할 변화, 특성화된 컬렉션 확대, 기관 아카이브의 기능 수행, 도서관간 협력 네트워킹 구축 등을 발전전략으로 제시하였다.

A computer simulation method for textile designs was developed using a generic-purpose graphics program, LUMENA and its results were applied for costume design simulation. Its design performance was comparable with those using specialized design package programs which are in general very expensive. Three areas of textile design, print pattern design, weaving design, and knitting design, were covered. In the print pattern design simulation, a gird network library was constructed by using basic methods of repeat, and a pattern library by scanning existing print patterns. Through the modification and synthesis of library patterns, many new print patterns could be obtained. In the weaving design simulation, a thread library and a draw-down library were constructed. Using them, simulations of woven textile structures were carried out. In the knitting design simulation, a stitch library and a detail library were made from various types of knit stitch and detail drawings of knit costume, respectively. They were used to make structural knitting patterns and jacquard knitting designs. Using those simulated textile designs, costume design simulation was carried out.

The present study aims at figuring out the potential benefits occured from the practical pplications of the information analysis center concept in Korea. The R&D requirements in Korea at the moment is such that the highly specialized and sophisticated information services are essential. With the general information infrastructure still embryonic the best possible answer is sought in a specialized tried-out method, namely, the information analysis center which is to be planned and serviced as an integral part of a specific research project. The article examines the information exchange activities of scientists; the backgrounds of the development of the information analysis center concept into 'a technical institute'; the processess of information analyses and evaluations; the effects and values of an analysis center; and the applicabilities of the information analysis center concept with a special regard to the developing country's needs. The conclusion confirms of the potential benefits of the information analysis center type facilities for the current needs of the Korean research and development environments.

대학도서관 자료의 전문화, 세분화된 학술정보자료의 공동수집 및 공동이용은 대학 내 연구의 활성화와 대학간 다양화, 특성화, 지역화를 추진하게 할 것이다. 이것은 국가 및 대학 차원에서 대학도서관의 특성화, 차별화 정책을 기반으로 할 때 가능할 것으로 보인다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대학도서관의 주제별 특성화를 기반으로 한 국가적 학술정보공동활용체계를 제안했으며, 구체적으로 두 가지 방안을 제시하였다. 첫째 한국교육학술정보원을 중심으로 형성된 협력망을 이용하는 방법과 둘째. 주제 또는 지역별로 형성된 각종 협의회를 중심으로 주제별 특성화를 유도하고 이를 활용하는 방법이다.

The purpose of this article is to take a look into the past twenty years and to evaluate the changes in the organization of the library and the information function during this time period. Academic and special libraries are the ones that have made an impressive progress and innovations to keep pace with a changing environment. New technologies and ideas have brought strong supporters of offering various specialized information services to the library users. The different approaches and experiments to better perform this professional role in the library and in turn, the efforts in the educational institutions to meet the challenges were reviewed through the literature. Much of the literature available regarding the reference and information function deals mainly with the trends in the u. s. libraries. The implications of these trends to Korean libraries and library education are sought in view of our social, economic, and educational circumstances as well as our user behavior.

본 연구의 목적은 대안교육 분야 특성화고등학교에서 진행하고 있는 독서교육의 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 독서교육이 비교적 활발히 이루어지고 있는 대안교육 분야 특성화고등학교 5곳을 연구 대상으로 선정하였으며. 이들 학교들이 현재 진행하고 있는 독서교육의 내용 및 특성을 파악하기 위해 해당 학교의 독서교육 담당자와 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰내용은 전사한 후 질적 분석방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 대안학교에서는 인문학을 바탕으로 교과수업과 독서교육을 통합하고자 노력하고 있었으며, 도서관 활용수업이 진행되고 있었고, 독서 프로그램 기획, 진행에 학생들이 적극적으로 참여하고 있었다. 또한 독서교육이 성공적으로 진행될 수 있었던 조건들도 드러났다. 우선 교사, 학교, 도서관이 독서교육을 지지하고 지원하는 체계를 갖추고 있었으며, 독서 프로그램에 학생들의 관심과 흥미가 적극적으로 반영되고 있었다. 이와 더불어, 학생들의 독서 능력과 필요에 따라 독서교육 내용이 차별화되어 구성되고 있었으며, 독서 후 대화하고 소통하는 활동이 강조되고 있었다.

데이터 중심의 연구환경으로 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이에 따라 국내 대학도서관에서도 대학의 연구자를 지원하기 위한 연구데이터 관리 서비스 구축 및 운영을 준비하고 있다. 본 연구는 과학기술특성화 대학도서관에서 연구자를 지원하기 위한 연구데이터 관리 서비스를 제안하고자 설계되었다. 해당 서비스를 제안하기 위하여 해외 및 국내 과학기술특성화 대학 중 11곳을 선택하여 해당 기관의 연구데이터 관리 서비스를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 연구데이터 관리, 전자 연구노트 그리고 RDM 교육으로 핵심 카테고리를 도출하였으며 특히, '연구데이터 관리' 카테고리는 DMP, 데이터 수집, 데이터 관리, 데이터 보존, 데이터 공유 및 출판, 데이터 재사용, 인프라 및 도구 그리고 RDM 가이드 및 정책으로 구성하였다. 본 연구 결과는 과학기술특성화 대학도서관에서 연구데이터 관리 서비스를 도입하고 운영하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

본 연구는 국가도서관의 현재 자원들을 정보적, 인적, 공간적 차원에서 살펴보고, 이를 기반으로 향후 협력사업의 정책적 과제와 방향성을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 외국 사례, 국가도서관관련 법령과 국가정책, 관종별 도서관협력과 국회도서관의 자원별 대외협력사업의 사례들을 분석하였다. 사례분석을 통해 국가도서관 협력사업의 미래방향으로 가치개발, 특화콘텐츠확보, 해외네트워크 리더십확보 등 세 가지 정책방향성을 제안하였다.

본 연구에서는 국립세종도서관이 '정책정보 수집 및 서비스 중심의 국립중앙도서관 지역분관'이라는 기본적 정체성을 정립하고 미래지향적인 중장기 발전방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 정책정보 중심의 특화도서관이라는 정체성을 기반으로 현실적 존재가치를 제고시킬 수 있는 중장기 로드맵(비전과 핵심가치, 전략적 목표 및 기능수행, 핵심 추진과제 및 실행전략, 조직 및 인력구성, 모체기관인 국립중앙도서관과의 정책정보서비스 역할분담, 공동사업 추진 및 교류협력)을 제시함으로써 조직의 안정과 발전, 내적 핵심역량의 강화, 그리고 국가 및 사회에 대한 기여도를 높이는 논거를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.
