Recently, deep speaker embedding approach has been widely used in text-independent speaker verification, which shows better performance than the traditional i-vector approach. In this work, to improve the deep speaker embedding approach, we propose a novel method called group-based speaker embedding which incorporates group information. We cluster all speakers of the training data into a predefined number of groups in an unsupervised manner, so that a fixed-length group embedding represents the corresponding group. A Group Decision Network (GDN) produces a group weight, and an aggregated group embedding is generated from the weighted sum of the group embeddings and the group weights. Finally, we generate a group-based embedding by adding the aggregated group embedding to the deep speaker embedding. In this way, a speaker embedding can reduce the search space of the speaker identity by incorporating group information, and thereby can flexibly represent a significant number of speakers. We conducted experiments using the VoxCeleb1 database to show that our proposed approach can improve the previous approaches.
Constructing speaker embeddings in speaker verification is an important issue. In general, a self-attention mechanism has been applied for speaker embedding encoding. Previous studies focused on training the self-attention in a high-level layer, such as the last pooling layer. In this case, the effect of low-level layers is not well represented in the speaker embedding encoding. In this study, we propose Masked Cross Self-Attentive Encoding (MCSAE) using ResNet. It focuses on training the features of both high-level and low-level layers. Based on multi-layer aggregation, the output features of each residual layer are used for the MCSAE. In the MCSAE, the interdependence of each input features is trained by cross self-attention module. A random masking regularization module is also applied to prevent overfitting problem. The MCSAE enhances the weight of frames representing the speaker information. Then, the output features are concatenated and encoded in the speaker embedding. Therefore, a more informative speaker embedding is encoded by using the MCSAE. The experimental results showed an equal error rate of 2.63 % using the VoxCeleb1 evaluation dataset. It improved performance compared with the previous self-attentive encoding and state-of-the-art methods.
Many studies based on I-vector have been conducted in a variety of environments, from text-dependent short-utterance to text-independent long-utterance. In this paper, we propose a speaker verification system employing a combination of I-vector with Probabilistic Linear Discriminant Analysis (PLDA) and speaker embedding of Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) with attention mechanism in far-field and noisy environments. The LSTM model's Equal Error Rate (EER) is 15.52 % and the Attention-LSTM model is 8.46 %, improving by 7.06 %. We show that the proposed method solves the problem of the existing extraction process which defines embedding as a heuristic. The EER of the I-vector/PLDA without combining is 6.18 % that shows the best performance. And combined with attention-LSTM based embedding is 2.57 % that is 3.61 % less than the baseline system, and which improves performance by 58.41 %.

To train the model of the deep learning-based single-speaker TTS system, a speech DB of tens of hours and a lot of training time are required. This is an inefficient method in terms of time and cost to train multi-speaker or personalized TTS models. The voice cloning method uses a speaker encoder model to make the TTS model of a new speaker. Through the trained speaker encoder model, a speaker embedding vector representing the timbre of the new speaker is created from the small speech data of the new speaker that is not used for training. In this paper, we propose a multi-speaker TTS system to which voice cloning is applied. The proposed TTS system consists of a speaker encoder, synthesizer and vocoder. The speaker encoder applies the d-vector technique used in the speaker recognition field. The timbre of the new speaker is expressed by adding the d-vector derived from the trained speaker encoder as an input to the synthesizer. It can be seen that the performance of the proposed TTS system is excellent from the experimental results derived by the MOS and timbre similarity listening tests.
Text-Independent speaker verification needs to extract text-independent speaker embedding to improve generalization performance. However, deep neural networks that depend on training data have the potential to overfit text information instead of learning the speaker information when repeatedly learning from the identical time series. In this paper, to prevent the overfitting, we propose a segment unit shuffling layer that divides and rearranges the input layer or a hidden layer along the time axis, thus mixes the time series information. Since the segment unit shuffling layer can be applied not only to the input layer but also to the hidden layers, it can be used as generalization technique in the hidden layer, which is known to be effective compared to the generalization technique in the input layer, and can be applied simultaneously with data augmentation. In addition, the degree of distortion can be adjusted by adjusting the unit size of the segment. We observe that the performance of text-independent speaker verification is improved compared to the baseline when the proposed segment unit shuffling layer is applied.
This paper was constructed to investigate strange attractor in considering speech which is regarded as chaos in that the random signal appears in the deterministic raising system. This paper searches for the delay time from AR model power spectrum for constructing fit attractor for speech signal. As a result of applying Taken's embedding theory to the delay time, an exact correlation dimension solution is obtained. As a result of this consideration of speech, it is found that it has more speaker recognition characteristic parameter, and gains a large speaker discrimination recognition rate.

With the recent growth of the AI speaker market, the demand for speech synthesis technology that enables natural conversation with users is increasing. Therefore, there is a need for a multi-speaker speech synthesis system that can generate voices of various tones. In order to synthesize natural speech, it is required to train with a large-capacity. high-quality speech DB. However, it is very difficult in terms of recording time and cost to collect a high-quality, large-capacity speech database uttered by many speakers. Therefore, it is necessary to train the speech synthesis system using the speech DB of a very large number of speakers with a small amount of training data for each speaker, and a technique for naturally expressing the tone and rhyme of multiple speakers is required. In this paper, we propose a technology for constructing a speaker encoder by applying the deep learning-based x-vector technique used in speaker recognition technology, and synthesizing a new speaker's tone with a small amount of data through the speaker encoder. In the multi-speaker speech synthesis system, the module for synthesizing mel-spectrogram from input text is composed of Tacotron2, and the vocoder generating synthesized speech consists of WaveNet with mixture of logistic distributions applied. The x-vector extracted from the trained speaker embedding neural networks is added to Tacotron2 as an input to express the desired speaker's tone.
This paper has apparaised ability of speaker recognition and speech recognition using correlation dimension and Lyapunov dimension. In this method, speech was regarded the cahos that the random signal is appeared in determinisitic raising system. we deduced exact correlation dimension and Lyapunov dimension with searching important orbit from AR model power spectrum when reconstruct strange attractor using Taken's embedding theory. We considered a usefulness of speech recognition and speaker recognition using correlation dimension and Lyapunov dimension that characterized reconstruction attractor. As a result of consideration, which were of use more the speaker recognition than speech recognition, and in case of speaker recognition using Lyapunov dimension were much recognition rate more than speaker recognitions using correlation dimension.
In this paper, we propose a system to extract effective speaker representations from a speech signal using a deep learning method. Based on the fact that speech signal contains identity unrelated information such as text content, emotion, background noise, and so on, we perform a training such that the extracted features only represent speaker-related information but do not represent speaker-unrelated information. Specifically, we propose an auto-encoder based disentanglement method that outputs both speaker-related and speaker-unrelated embeddings using effective loss functions. To further improve the reconstruction performance in the decoding process, we also introduce a discriminator popularly used in Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) structure. Since improving the decoding capability is helpful for preserving speaker information and disentanglement, it results in the improvement of speaker verification performance. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method by improving Equal Error Rate (EER) on benchmark dataset, Voxceleb1.
Recent advances in text-to-speech (TTS) technology have significantly improved the quality of synthesized speech, reaching a level where it can closely imitate natural human speech. Especially, TTS models offering various voice characteristics and personalized speech, are widely utilized in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) tutors, advertising, and video dubbing. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a one-shot multi-speaker TTS system that can ensure acoustic diversity and synthesize personalized voice by generating speech using unseen target speakers' utterances. The proposed model integrates a speaker encoder into a TTS model consisting of the FastSpeech2 acoustic model and the HiFi-GAN vocoder. The speaker encoder, based on the pre-trained RawNet3, extracts speaker-specific voice features. Furthermore, the proposed approach not only includes an English one-shot multi-speaker TTS but also introduces a Korean one-shot multi-speaker TTS. We evaluate naturalness and speaker similarity of the generated speech using objective and subjective metrics. In the subjective evaluation, the proposed Korean one-shot multi-speaker TTS obtained naturalness mean opinion score (NMOS) of 3.36 and similarity MOS (SMOS) of 3.16. The objective evaluation of the proposed English and Korean one-shot multi-speaker TTS showed a prediction MOS (P-MOS) of 2.54 and 3.74, respectively. These results indicate that the performance of our proposed model is improved over the baseline models in terms of both naturalness and speaker similarity.
