Technology and Patent Trends of Altitude Compensation Nozzles (고도보정 노즐의 기술 및 특허 동향)

  • The altitude compensation nozzle is a nozzle designed for optimum performance at all altitudes. A method of improving the specific impulse of the space launch vehicle is a method of improving the characteristic exhaust velocity which is a characteristic of the combustion chamber and a method of improving the thrust coefficient which is a characteristic of the nozzle. The altitude compensation nozzle enables improvement of the performance of the space launch vehicle by improving the nozzle performance for the same combustor. Research on altitude compensation nozzles has been actively carried out in the DLR in Germany and is being carried out in advanced countries such as the US, Russia, UK, Australia and Japan. In this paper, the technology trends and patent trends of altitude compensation nozzles are investigated and summarized. Based on this, the technical trends of altitude compensation nozzles is grasped and utilized as basic data for the study on the performance improvement of a launch vehicle.

  • Furniture has been developed in pursuit of human convenience and comfort, but nowadays it does not consider human users and gradually loses the essence of furniture. Especially furniture design that disregards the relation with space loses both the meaning and purpose of furniture. In this regards, it is necessary to understand the essence of furniture design and establish a design direction for future progress. Based on the relation between furniture and space, this paper intended to study on John Pawson's works that pursued the essence of design focusing on users, and propose a direction in a sense of real meaning for modern furniture design after exploring the characteristic of the furniture design of John Pawson. The study method of this paper was to investigate the design language of John Pawson and analyze his furniture in the morphological structural, functional, and material aspects. Based on such analysis, this study investigated the characteristics of the furniture design and found out what the core of the design that he pursued was. The scope of the study included the Independent Furniture that was restricted furniture collections of Driade and Spatial Furniture designed and installed at the stage of space construction. The study result showed that the design of John Pawson considered 'the suitability to a specific place' as important factor and furniture was planned at the stage of planning space. Each independent furniture defines all spaces in the morphological, lay-out and functional aspects of furniture and emphasizes their own property. As Spatial Furniture shares the function of spatial composition element, Pawson's furniture can be all called Spatial Furniture.

Smallest-Small-World Cellular Genetic Algorithms (최소좁은세상 셀룰러 유전알고리즘)

  • Cellular Genetic Algorithms(CGAs) are a subclass of Genetic Algorithms(GAs) in which each individuals are placed in a given geographical distribution. In general, CGAs# population space is a regular network that has relatively long characteristic path length and high clustering coefficient in the view of the Networks Theory. Long average path length makes the genetic interaction of remote nodes slow. If we have the population#s path length shorter with keeping the high clustering coefficient value, CGAs# population space will converge faster without loss of diversity. In this paper, we propose Smallest-Small-World Cellular Genetic Algorithms(SSWCGAs). In SSWCGAs, each individual lives in a population space that is highly clustered but having shorter characteristic path length, so that the SSWCGAs promote exploration of the search space with no loss of exploitation tendency that comes from being clustered. Some experiments along with four real variable functions and two GA-hard problems show that the SSWCGAs are more effective than SGAs and CGAs.

Analysis on Dynamic Characteristic and Circuit Parameter of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor by Electromagnetic Analytical Method (전자기 해석법에 의한 직선형 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기의 회로정수 도출 및 동특성 해석)

  • This paper deals with analysis on dynamic characteristic and circuit parameter of linear switched reluctance motor by electromagnetic analytical method. Above all, using space harmonic method, which is electromagnetic method, the air-gap flux density is analyzed in the both align and unaign positions, and the inductance profile, force characteristic and resistance per phase are calculated by means of the process. The validity of the analyzed results are demonstrated by the finite element method(FEM) and manufacture of the prototype machine. Second, the dynamic simulation is analyzed by the use of circuit parameters derived from analytical method, and the operating system of the prototype machine is manufactured to demonstrated the validity of simulation analysis. As a result, it is considered that the characteristic equation suggested in this paper will contribute to the design, analysis and application of LSRM.

  • Although natural and science museum project is being promoted, performance of research that can be recommended for exhibition space plan is not sufficient. Nature and science museum is the space of participation type so structure and type of space depends on the content of exhibition. Therefore, this paper is the gradational research to understand correlation and characteristic and give direction for exhibition space plan suitable for system of exhibition content through analyzing system of exhibition content and structure of exhibition space. Further, prepare basic material for exhibition space of nature and science museum being newly planned or renovated through understanding structure of exhibition space according to exhibition scenario.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the Site layout of Buddhist Architicture by water space of landscape architecture. As a result, the following fact is identified; We knew that land scape of Buddhist Architecture is intentional device. Example from the Tong-do Temple, it leads cleary the intention of water-space. The case of Tong-do Temple, water space is divided into Yeon-ji(lotus pond) and the Yeong-gi(shadow pond) and Gye-ryu(mountain stream). The viewing intention of Gu-Ryong-ji where Yong-ji the construction intention characteristic is positive it was intended there is a possibility of knowing. From the research which it sees it is limited in case of the Tong-do Temple tries to search a concrete instance. but on this outside many multiple architectural space uses water space and It creates the space where it leads the harmony of architecture and intention it was plentifully included.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the architectural space of modern and contemporary architecture which has been changed by the aesthetic cognition on space. The intention of considering architectural space aesthetically is to convert the viewpoint of seeing space as simple physical structure into different viewpoint of regarding 'space' as 'cultural place' However this does not means to apply aesthetic theory to architectural space. The aesthetic cognition on space is one of the main subjects of the expression of art from ancient to today however the appearance of space concept as architectural aesthetics accelerated by G. Semper theory after the latter half of 19th century. On the standpoint of perpetuity in architecture the aesthetics of scientific rationalism in modernism based on the reasonable thinking regards the variety of inherent characteristic in architectural space as 'Transferential Space'. On the other hand, in regarding to architectural trend, the nature in architectural space has been considered as 'Existential Space' starting from the conscious construction of environments to help human existence in the existentialism. The Conclusion logic of follows as belows; first, the concept of space structure in architecture has been exchanged from Enclosed Space to Topological Space. Second, the concept of architectural space has been changed and developed to the Deterministic, Profound, Dissipative, and Recognizable Space according to the change of expression in architecture.

  • Virtual reality is not a new concept but just a new word and also it isnt limited to the reality created by computer-assisted image composition. Furthermore, we have lived within the virtual reality since long time ago, and the newly emerging digital technology has made the limits of the virtual expression vague and the definition of space concept new, The magical experiences we have had within the digital space consisted of Virtual space are the philosophical subject which we can hardly explain as a simple dichotomous definition such as Virtuality or Reality. But its true that our experiences made within virtual space are felt as much newer space considering those of space design, which have been traditionally made in our physical territory. Digital game is the representative space that provides a new space. Therefore, the new concept in space will be not just the territory expansion of space but also the opportunity we can find a new possibility through the relation between human and space. At this point in time that the life territory is expanding as a new space, this research goal is to show the new possibility of the connection of human and digital space through studying the relationship of Human and Space, Space and Digital space and Human and Digital space as well as The peculiarity of the space which is expressed at Digital game, the most representative space providing new experiences.

Characteristics of Horizontal Winds in the Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere Region over Korean Peninsula Observed from the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute Meteor Radar

  • We present for the first time the characteristics of upper atmospheric horizontal winds over the Korean Peninsula. Winds and their variability are derived using four-year measurements by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) meteor radar. A general characteristic of zonal and meridional winds is that they exhibit distinct diurnal and seasonal variations. Their changes indicate sometimes similar or sometimes different periodicities. Both winds are characterized by either semi-diurnal tides (12 hour period) and/or diurnal tides (24 hour period) from 80-100 km. In terms of annual change, the annual variation is the strongest component in both winds, but semi-annual and ter-annual variations are only detected in zonal winds.

A Study on the Metaphorical Expression Characteristics of New Materials for Emotional Housing Space Design (감성주거공간디자인을 위한 신소재의 은유적 표현 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed metaphorical characteristics of composite materials in terms of a visual aspect on a new material that is applicable for housing space. The results are as follows. First, the recent trend of housing space tends to stimulate emotions of residents through visual finishing materials, and for this reason, visual expression of a new material that is applicable to finishing materials plays an important role. Second, convertibleness, association and duplicity were selected as items of metaphorical expressions through the precedent studies. Third, most of combinations of materials were shown different from the existing materials in an expressive characteristic of composite materials through analysis, and application of a technology showed a different visual effect of patterns and textures from the existing materials. This implies that visual expression and directing are being attempted using such technology on finishing materials of housing space with development of digital technologies. Fourth, for metaphorical characteristics of composite material for housing space, combination of various materials and a digital technology were applied on convertibleness. For association, a combination of materials that have each different characteristic associated with the third material, and combination with subsidiary material of optical fiber and a digital technology were appled for duplicity. Data obtained from the results of this study has high efficiency in planning finishing materials for emotional housing space in future, and it will be basic data for a study on development of new finishing materials.
