근거리 무선 전력 전송을 위한 평형 증폭기 구조의 10MHz 10W급 전력원 설계 (Design of the 10MHz and 10W Power Source for Short Distance Wireless Power Transmission)

  • In this paper, we have designed and manufactured 10MHz power source for the application of short distance wireless power transmission. The designed power source consists of a DDS(direct digital synthesizer) signal generator, a buffer driver and a balanced power amplifier. Short range wireless power transmission is usually carried out by near-field inductive coupling between source and load. The distance variation between source and load gives rise to the change of load impedance of power amplifier, which has effect on the operation of power amplifier. To overcome this problem due to load variation of power amplifier, we have adopted the balanced power amplifier using the quadrature hybrid implemented by lumped capacitors and a mutually coupled coil. The experiment results show the above 40dBm output power, frequency range of 9 to 11MHz, and total DC power consumption of 36W.

전력소모 감소를 위한 저 전압 BUS 구동과 인터페이스 분석 (Low Voltage Swing BUS Driver and Interface Analysis for Low Power Consumption)

  • 본 논문은 FCSR(Freedback Control Swing voltage Reduction) 방식을 이용하여 bus 구동전압을 수백 mV이내로 줄일 수 있는 구동기에 대한 내용을 다루고 있다. 이는 MDL 구조와 같이 대용량, 대단위 bus에서의 전력소모를 줄이기 위한 연구로 FCSR은 dual-line bus와 bus precharging을 기본구조로 채택하고 있다. Bus 환경이 변화함에 따라 일정한 구동전압을 유지하기 위하여 구동기의 크기를 자동적으로 조절할 수 있도록 구동기와 bus를 모델링 하였고 또한 odd mode로 동작하는 이웃하는 선간의 커플링 영향을 평행 전류원으로 모델링하여 선간간섭(crosstalk) 영향을 분석하였다. 현대 0.8um 공정으로 제작된 chip은 bus를 600mV로 구동하도록 설계되었으며 테스트결과 3.3V에서 70Mhz로 동작 가능하다. Hspice 시뮬레이션으로 FCSR은 3.3V에서 250Mhz의 동작이 가능하다.

  • The identification of location and strength distribution of extended noise sources is important in the practical noise control engineering, especially in the viewpoint of dealing with the inherent nature of noise problem in question. For noise source ranking inside an automotive vehicle, the window method has been mainly used due to its simplicity. However, time and cost drawbacks in the measurement and inaccuracy due to low-frequency tunneling and lack of phase information have been a serious problem in using this method. In this study, the inverse FRF method was employed to carry out the noise source ranking inside an automotive vehicle and it was also used to predict the interior sound pressure with the change of sound insulation materials. As a result, it was found that the source contribution of vehicle panels could be successfully identified in comparison with the window method. The sound pressure at driver's ear position was predicted based on the obtained data and was compared with the measured data. The agreement in spectral trends was acceptable and their difference in level was within 3㏈ above 500㎐.

  • A new dithering algorithm, "Hi-FRC", to enable full (16,777,216) color display on LCD panel with 6-bit source D-IC's is presented. The conventional FRC can display only 16,194,277 colors. In addition, The LCD panel with Hi-FRC can meet the color grayscale linearity of TCO '03 because it can improve the color shift problem.

  • Required characteristics of poly-Si TFT's are investigated for the implementation of analog circuits to be integrated on System-on-Glass (SoG). Matching requirements on resistor values, threshold voltage and mobility of poly-Si TFT's are derived as a function of the resolution of display system. Effective mobility of poly-Si TFT's required for the realization of source driver is analyzed for various panel sizes.

  • This paper proposes a new method to improve signal characteristics at branches frequently met in system-level routing. We also introduce the numerical formula which can estimate the time delay due to branches and the simple design guideline for system-level routing. Finally, we propose the routing method which can eliminate the signal reflection for the case of one driver and two receivers (multi-drop topology).

  • Integrating systems on TFT-LCD panels is more and more popular for the mobile display application. However, it may not be necessary to use LTPS TFT devices. A-Si TFTs are used to integrate systems on TFT-LCD panels, especially scan (gate) drivers. To further reduce the chip size of driver IC, the triplegate pixel structure is developed. Therefore, the number of the source lines is reduced to 1/3 times.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the noise level and the noise source for domestic trains. We measured and analyzed the interior noise, the rolling noise and the engine noise at Honam line(Seodaejeon-Jangseong) for passenger and power cars. The noise level is below 69㏈A for Seamaeul PMC(Powered Motor Car) coachs, below 65㏈A for Seamaeul and Mukungwha coachs, over 80㏈A for the driver's room of PMC and diesel-electric locomotives.

  • Each LCD TFT panel requires a power supply IC on the panel board. The IC provides the power rails for the timing controller, source and gated driver IC and others. The industry trend moves towards higher integrated devices. The challenge for the panel manufacturer is the development and implementation of such an IC in cooperation with the semiconductor supplier. If not done carefully the solution will not reduce the overall solution cost or can't provide the expected performance and reliability. This paper discusses the key considerations to successfully develop and integrate a highly integrated LCD bias IC into the system.
