  • This paper was investigated the frequency property for optimal operating conditions of mono-crystalline Si solar cell. An internal impedance of mono-crystalline Si solar cell was influenced frequency. An optimal operating conditions of solar cell was under about 10[kHz].

  • 최근 태양광 발전을 전력계통에 연계하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 태양광 발전 시스템은 조사량과 온도의 변화와 같은 환경요인에 의해 출력 특성이 달라지므로 이에 대한 연구와 계통에 미치는 영향 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 EMTP/MODELS를 사용하여 태양전지 내부 손실, 조사강도, 온도 조건을 고려한 Solar Cell의 특성을 구현하고 분석하였다. 또한 실제 Solar Cell 데이터와 비교하여 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Currently, new and renewable energy come into the spotlight, such as solar energy, wind power, fuel cell, hybrid car etc., due to the energy resources is being depleted. In order to solve like this problem, we addressed the roll to roll printing machine for the thin film solar cell by using printing technology.   • ITO_{(n)}/Si_{(p)}$ solar cell is fabricated by vaccum deposition method under the resistance heating with substrate temperature kept about 200[$^{\circ}C$] and than their properties are investigated. The maximum output of fabricated solar cell is obtained when the composition of the thin film is consisted of indium oxide 91[mole %] and tin oxide 9(mole %). The solar cell electrical charateristics can be improved by annealing but are deteriorated at temperature above 600[$^{\circ}C$] for longer than 15[min].

  • This paper has been analyzed, modeled, designed, fabricated, and tested for solar cell simulator which has solar array characteristics. The main purpose is the development of solar cell simulator to test electrical power subsystem for GEO Communication Spacecraft. The maximum power of the simulator is about 5 ㎾, which is consist of 12 independent simulator modules with 420 W power rating. The 12 simulator modules are independently controlled like as real solar array system.

  • Thick films based on the mature crystalline silicon technology are expected to exhibit eversmaller cost reduction. The thin-film-based technology is, however, expected to exhibit a much sharper drop in cost as it develops. In this report, technology and recent R & D of thin film solar cell, such as amorphous silicon, cadnium telluride, copper indium diselenide and gallium arsenide, are described. Perspectives of world photovoltaic market and solar cell price are also described.

Investigation of the Corrosive Chemical Interaction on Antireflective Layers of Solar Cell Multilayers

  • Nowadays, the issue of solar cell durability in local weather and environment is a crucial issue. Above all, surface corrosion on solar cell multilayers is a major factor that determines the durability of commercial solar cells; corrosive chemical interactions between air, humidity and chemical species and solar cell multilayers can unfavorably affect the durability. Here, we study microscopic and spectroscopic surface techniques to investigate the corrosive interaction on the antireflective layers of solar cell multilayers under various conditions such as acid, base, constant temperature and humidity. Surface morphology and adhesion force were characterized with atomic force microscopy before and after chemical treatment. Chemical composition, and transmittance factors were studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, respectively. Based on these studies, we suggest the dominant factors in the corrosive chemical processes, and their influences on the structural, compositional, and optical properties of the antireflective layers.

탄소 기판을 이용한 박막 실리콘 태양전지의 배리어 층 효과 (The Effect of Barrier Layer on Thin-film Silicon Solar Cell Using Graphite Substrates)

  • We have investigated the characteristics of amorphous silicon (a-Si) thin-film solar cell by inserting barrier layer. The conversion efficiency of a-Si thin-film solar cells on graphite substrate shows nearly zero because of the surface roughness of the graphite substrate. To enhance the performance of solar cells, the surface morphology of the back side were modified by changing the barrier layer on graphite. The surface roughness of graphite substrate with the barrier layer grown by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) reduced from ~2 um to ~75 nm. In this study, the combination of the barrier layer on graphite substrate is important to increase solar cell efficiency. We achieved ~ 7.8% cell efficiency for an a-Si thin-film solar cell on graphite substrate with SiNx/SiOx stack barrier layer.

Suppression of Charge Recombination Rate in Nanocrystalline SnO2 by Thin Coatings of Divalent Oxides in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

  • The core-shell $SnO_2$@AO (A=Ni, Cu, Zn and Mg) films were prepared and the effects of coatings on photovoltaic properties were investigated. Studies on X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis and transmission electron microscopy showed the formation of divalent oxides on the surface of $SnO_2$ nanoparticles. It was commonly observed that all the dye-sensitized core-shell films exhibited higher photovoltage than the bare $SnO_2$ film. Transient photovoltage measurements confirmed that the improved photovoltages were related to the decreased time constants for electron recombination.
