Software reconfigurable radio will give future users a number of benefits like global roaming, multi mode, multi band, and multi standard. It will also offer complete programmability and reconfigurability to both multi mode and multi functional communication terminal and network nodes. This configuration will be implemented by application of different combination of radio configurable software. In this paper, It proposes the algorithm needed for reconfiguration with basic explanation of the software download. A description of an implementation such reconfiguration processes as partial download and full download and critical and non-critical download installation using the registration table in included.

This paper describes the software download framework for SDR(Software Defined Radio). SDR is expected to solve the compatibility problem among various mobile communication standards so that people can use the same device for different wireless network. We integrated the SDR software download process into Jini architecture, and modified Jini's several functions. We implemented this proposed framework on a Linux and windows operating systems with Java programming language. With Java platform, we can easily transfer this framework into hand-held devices.

Software architecture and protocols to be maintained between components for the reconfigurable SDR system is analyzed and suggest system design idea for the implementation of software. To do this, related surveys are reviews and set up the system model with the structure of embedded system. SDR system architecture is suggested with five layered structure, consisted with hardware, operating system, middle-ware, service objects and application layer. SDR system is designed to be work on the basis of Linux operating system, and aimed to be scalable and reconfigurable. It is introduced the design result of software protocol and state transition diagram for the implementations of software download function which is the most important feature in SDR.

This paper proposes a broadcast software download (BSD) scheme for a 10-gigabit-capable passive optical network (XG-PON), which dramatically reduces the time required to update a remotely-located user terminal's software. The performance of the proposed BSD is examined by numerical analysis and demonstrated by experimental verification on our XG-PON test platforms. The results show that the BSD takes less than 5 minutes to update 45 user-terminal software, while the conventional unicast software download scheme normally takes more than one and half hours.

For an efficient software download in cellular CDMA systems, session admission control based on area (SACA) is presented. In the SACA scheme, the base station only allows mobile terminal to start session when the mobile locates near the base station of a cell. A mobile that is located near cell center can request software download session, but the mobile that is far away from the center can request session only after arriving near the cell center. Session duration time follows exponential and Pareto distribution. Performance is analyzed in terms of handoff rate, mean channel holding time, session blocking probability and handoff forced termination probability. As analysis results, handoff rate between cells in the proposed scheme is reduced to 30 ~ 250 % compared to conventional scheme, according to traffic characteristics such as terminal speed, session duration time and the size of the allowable zone area in a cell for the start of the session. And new session blocking probability slightly decreases to 5 ~ 20 %, but handoff session forced termination probability drastically decreases to 35 ~ 220 %.

FOTA는 무선기능이 장착된 Mobile Device에 새로운 Software에 대한 알림기능이 도착하면, Software가 탐재된 서버에 접속하여 Software를 Download 받고, 그 Download한 Software를 Upgrade 하는 기능을 말한다. FOTA 기능을 장착하기 위해서 Mobile Device는 Delta Package의 사이즈를 최소화하기 위한 특별한 Binary 구조를 가지는데 두 Binary의 차이를 압축한 것을 Delta Package라고 부르며, Binary 사이에 Upgrade를 위한 여분의 Gap을 두어, 향후 수정된 내용이 있을 때, 수정사항을 공간 내에 포함할 수 있도록 한다. 바이너리를 구성하는 Object들이 Image내에 어떤 위치에 포함될 것인지를 결정하는 Scatter Loader에 따라, Binary의 구조 및 확장성, Delta의 크기를 결정하게 되는데, 이것은 Object의 Type이나 Scatter Loading File내에서 명시한 순서와는 관계가 없고, Execution Region의 분할 개수를 늘릴수록, 각 Object의 Dependency 별로 묶을수록 Delta Size가 작아지는 것을 알게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 위에서 제시한 조건이 Delta Size에 미치는 원인에 대해 분석하고, Scatter Loading File을 최적화시킬 수 있는 방안에 대해서 연구한다.

The software streaming technology enables telematics software to be automatically updated through a wireless network. When the software starts running, software streaming system inspects its version and then, automatically download latest one. The software streaming system breaks the software into several pieces that are streamed to the user as needed. In this way, software streaming system can improves the telematics application load time while updating the software through wireless network. In our experiments, the application load time was reduced about 7 times compared to downloading whole software at best case.

In this paper we describe the integrated development environment for embedded software education. Our environment uses a cheap and widely available portable game console, Nintendo DS-lite. We have integrated open source development tools, and have implemented download shell, remote debugger. The results are all open source, and were used for university class for real embedded software education.

As malicious apps vary significantly across Android malware, it is challenging to prevent that the end-users download apps from unsecured app markets. In this paper, we propose an approach to classify the malicious methods based on permissions using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) that is used to embed the semantics among Intent and permissions. Then the malicious method that is an unsecured method will be removed and re-uploaded to official market. This approach may induce that the end-users download apps from official market in order to reduce the risk of attacks.
