의료사고 및 분쟁 줄이기: 효과적인 의사소통을 중심으로 (Reduction of Medical Accidents and Disputes: with priority given to effective communication)

  • The importance of effective communication is increasingly stressed in the medical sector. This is crucial for the resolution of medical accidents and conflicts, and that can contribute to the prevention of the two as well. The careful attitude of the medical team toward patient safety and their communication with colleagues and other departments are mandatory for the successful decrease of dental accidents. The good communication within of the hospital organization is one of vital ways to ensure accurate diagnosis and successful treatment. In the field of health care, effective teamwork requires a shared goal, superb work skills, communication and cooperation, but this fact has been overlooked so far. Among those factors, communication is indispensable to the achievement of organizational goals, and how to boost communication by acquiring diverse skills and using appropriate tools in the dentistry should discreetly be considered. This study explared how to improve the teamwork and communication of organization in an effort to seek specific ways of reducing medical conflict in dental.

결혼이주여성의 자원체계와 한국생활적응 (International Marriage Immigrant Women's Resources for Life Adjustment in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand married female immigrants' life adjustment process in Korea by explaining the resources to which they have access and how they use them. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten female participants who have more than one child, have participated in programs of the multicultural family support center, have work experience, can communicate with Koreans, and live in Daegu. The major findings are as follows. The participants' personal resources differed. English language skills were very useful resources for making money and for earning the respect of family members and others. However, the participants without English language skills had sincerely and actively tried to learn the Korean language and gain bilingual competence. The participants obtained diverse family resources from their husbands and parents-in-law after adapting themselves to perform their gender role. Further, the participants used the social resources offered by public support systems as a starting point for learning the Korean language in their early adaptation process, and formed personal networks with staff members at the multicultural family support center. The results show that the participants used many kinds of resources for acculturation by interacting positively with their environment. Moreover, the resources from diverse levels of their environments affected their acculturation process.

국내 2+4년제 약학대학 졸업생의 취업 현황에 따른 임상약학 관련 교과과정에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Clinical Pharmacy Education based on the Employment Status of 2+4 Pharmacy School Graduates in South Korea)

  • Background: This study aims to determine whether the new 6-year pharmacy curriculum is designed to help students in their career path based on the employment status of the current 2+4 pharmacy school graduates. Methods: An online survey was conducted to the pharmacists who graduated from Woosuk University College of Pharmacy between 2015 and 2021. The survey questions included the current employment status of the graduates and their feedback on the clinical pharmacy curriculum at Woosuk University. Results: There were a total of 104 graduates who responded to the survey out of 312 graduates of whom the school had current contact information. Most of the graduates are currently working in a community pharmacy (63.5%), followed by hospital pharmacy (27.9%) and pharmaceutical industry (4.8%). Although most graduates were satisfied with clinical pharmacy courses at our college, many thought there needs to be a reinforcement or improvement in the curriculum, including pharmacotherapy and pharmacy practice experiences as well as social pharmacy courses. Conclusion: Based on our study, clinical and social pharmacy are the courses that teach the knowledge and skills required in community and hospital pharmacy and yet, are most in need of improvement. As most graduates work in a community or hospital pharmacy, it is necessary to improve our pharmacy curriculum so that they can learn and demonstrate their clinical skills effectively.

A Hierarchical Solution Approach for Occupational Health and Safety Inspectors' Task Assignment Problem

  • Background: Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a significant interest of all governments to prevent workplace hazards. Although appropriate legislation and regulations are essentials for the protection of workers, they are solely not enough. Application of them in practice should be secured by an efficient inspection system. Fundamental components of an inspection system are inspectors and their audit tasks. Maintaining the fair balanced task assignment among inspectors strictly enhances the efficiency of the overall system. Methods: This study proposes a two-phased goal programming approach for OHS inspectors' task assignments and presents a case study. Results: The solution approach gives the balanced assignment of inspectors to the workplaces in different cities of the country in the planning period. The obtained schedule takes into account the distances covered by the work places and the number of the workplaces' employees to be audited and pays attention to the human factors by considering the preferences of the inspectors. The comparisons between the obtained optimal schedule and the implemented one that is produced manually show that the approach not only maintains the technical requirements of the problem, but also provides social and physical balance to the task assignment. Conclusion: Both the approach and the application study are expected to offer fruitful inspirations in the area of safety management and policy and they provide a good guide for social policy and organizational aspects in the field of OHS inspectors' task assignment.

시설 거주 정신장애인의 자부심과 자기표현 향상을 위한 집단프로그램 개발 및 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Group Program for Improving Self-Esteem and Assertiveness of the Chronically Mentally Ill Living in the Institutions)

  • It is a recent trend to emphasize community services for the rehabilitation of the mentally ill. However, it is also necessary to provide social work services for those living in the institutions, who is the most underprivileged in our society. To deal with interpersonal skill deficits which is one of the main characteristics of the mentally ill, social skills programs are being utilized, usually in the communities, but not in the institutions. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop and evaluate institution-relevant program for the improvement of assertiveness, which is the basic ability among the interpersonal skills, and self-esteem, which is the emotional basis of assertiveness. Because there has been little literature on such a program, a preliminary program had been implemented in order to include the peculiarities of the life in the institutions on the main program. The evaluation of the program effect was done by pretest-post test control group design, and its results are as follows. Firstly, in regard to program effectiveness, the pre and post test showed that self-esteem improved in a statistically meaningful way, but that assertiveness did not so. However, the staff verified the improvement of the group members' assertiveness to some degree in their actual lives. Secondly, in regard to the group process, the group interaction improved in a statistically meaningful way between 2nd and 5th session, and the improvement maintained till the program termination. Also the group members evaluated the program as helpful in their everyday lives. Therefore it can be said that the result of this program is encouraging. In light of this, several suggestions were made: utilizing more dynamic techniques in the program; developing the advanced level of the program; making an effort to change environmental structures as well as individuals; applying this kind of program to another living facilities such as those for the homeless or handicapped.

  • We discuss the paper by Cho, Shin, Lee, and Han on the "information-relate" undergraduate statistics major program from the following perspectives: Recently, Korean universities are under re-structuring turmoil. To effectively confront the situation, we need both the vision and the strategy for statistics and statistics departments. For undergraduate statistics major program, our visions are 1) it should not be preliminary education program targeted for the graduate degrees, 2) it should be responsive to future social demand, and 3) it should incorporate the progressive identity of statistics as information and data science. As strategies, we propose 1) the effective integration and due balance among data collection, management and analysis, 2) the harmony and role development of computers and mathematics as statistical tools, 3) the statistics education through task-oriented problem solving, and 4) the emphasis of team work and communication skills.on skills.

비경제활동 유지 장애인의 취업의사 예측변인 탐색 (Predictors of Intention to Work among People with Disabilities who Maintain Economic Inactivity)

  • 본 연구는 비경제활동을 지속하는 장애인들의 취업의사에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 2014년 장애인고용패널조사 자료에서 2년 연속 미취업상태로 확인된 총 2,255명을 대상으로 $X^2$ 검증, t분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 비경제활동을 유지하는 장애인들의 취업의사에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하기 위해 선행연구에서 제시한 인구학적 요인, 장애 요인, 인적자본 요인, 심리사회적 요인을 가정하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 인구학적 요인에서 남성이거나, 배우자가 있거나, 기초생활수급자인 비경제활동 유지 장애인일수록 높은 취업의사를 가질 확률이 상승했다. 장애 요인 중 장애차별경험의 경우, 장애차별경험이 많을수록 비경제활동 유지 장애인들의 취업의사가 높을 가능성이 상승했으나, 이러한 결과는 구직활동에 적극적일수록 장애차별경험을 많이 경험하게 된다는 상관관계 측면에서 이해해야 할 것으로 보인다. 그리고, 인적자본 요인과 심리사회적 요인 중에서 활용능력(컴퓨터, 영어구사능력, 대인관계 및 적응능력), 직업재활서비스의 직업훈련 프로그램 이용 경험, 자아존중감 등의 세부 요인이 비경제활동 유지 장애인의 취업의사에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 여성장애인 취업지원 확대, 장애인의 활용능력과 자아존중감을 향상시키는 프로그램, 장애인 직업재활서비스의 전반적 확대와 접근 편이성 개선 등을 제안하였다.

고령근로자의 직무만족도에 직무특성이 미치는 영향: 성별에 따른 차이를 중심으로 (Influences of Work Characteristics on Older Workers' Job Satisfaction: Focusing on Gender Differences)

  • This study aims to understand potential gender differences in the association between job characteristics and job satisfaction among older workers. The data are from 506 males and 202 females older than 55 from the first wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA). Analyses focused on examining gender differences in the influences of subjective evaluation of work characteristics measured with education and skill fits of the work, work demands, customary early retirement, as well as more objective job conditions assessed with insurances by the employer, work hours, and salary on job satisfaction. Regression analyses revealed that female workers showed higher job satisfaction while job characteristics worked differently between genders to affect job satisfaction. For males, fitting the job with education and job demands were determining factors of job satisfaction, while the job with skills and work hours appeared to be significant factors for females. Results suggest that opportunities to utilize older workers' human capital and flexible working hours, especially for females workers would be helpful in promoting older adults' employment and satisfaction about their work.

가족건강성이 초등학생의 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향 및 문제해결능력의 매개효과 (A Study on the Effect of Family Strength on School Adjustment of Elementary Students and the Mediating Effect of Problem Solving Skills)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생의 가족건강성과 문제해결능력이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 S시 학교사회복지사업 운영 초등학교의 학생들을 대상으로 조사한 자료를 사용하였고, 연구대상은 2,422명이다. 본 연구의 자료는 SPSS 20을 사용하여 빈도분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족건강성과 문제해결능력, 그리고 학교생활적응은 서로 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 가족건강성은 학교생활적응에 매개변인 없이도 직접적인 영향을 주고 있었다. 셋째, 가족건강성은 문제해결능력을 매개로 학교생활적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 학교생활적응을 높이기 위해서는 이에 영향을 미치는 가족의 건강성을 높이고, 문제해결능력을 키우는 제반 환경적 자극을 통해 아동들의 적절한 발달적 과업을 이루도록 돕는 전략이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

미국의 학교-노동 이행에 관한 연구 (School-to-Work Transition in the United States)

  • 지구화시대에 정보산업이 발달하고 국가 경쟁력이 더욱 더 중요해지면서 미국에서도 학교에서 노동으로의 이행에 깊은 관심을 가지고 있다. 학교교육이 산업계의 요구를 충족시켜야 한다는 주장과 학교교육은 기술교육이 아니라 인문교육이어야 한다는 주장이 팽팽하게 맞서고 있지만, 미국은 최근 들어 학교에서 노동으로의 이행을 돕기 위해 새로운 법령을 공포하고 여러 프로그램에 재정적인 지원을 아끼지 않고 있다. 그러나 학생뿐만 아니라 학부모들은 고등학교의 학력으로는 좋은 직장을 얻기 힘들고, 대학 졸업자에 비해 낮은 임금을 받으며, 영원히 사회내에서 낮은 계층에 머무를지 모른다는 위기의식을 지니고 있다. 따라서 학교에서 노동으로의 이행의 프로그램에 적극 참여하기보다는 대학교에 가기 위한 보조장치로 활용하는 경우도 있다. 미국의 주 정부에서는 연방정부의 재정적 지원을 받아 각종 학교-노동시장이행 프로그램을 마련하고 있지만, 연방정부의 재정적 지원이 끊기면서 독자적으로 프로그램을 운영할 전망은 밝지 않다. 고등학교와 대학교를 연계시켜 학교에서 노동시장으로의 이행을 돕는 프로그램은 지구화시대에 치열한 경쟁을 뚫고 나가기 위한 중요한 사회적 장치이다. 그러나 전통적으로 인문교육과 대학교에 진학하는 것이 학부모의 관심사였던 미국사회에서 학교-노동시장 이행 프로그램은 아직 완전히 정착되지 못하고 있다.
