  • Recently a large number of people have been using social networking and microblogging services such as Facebook and Twitter. These mediums play a pivotal communication channel in a business-to-customer (B2C) relationship. Given its importance in today's business, companies have invested in the strategic application of social network services to reach out to customers. This study provides a blueprint for mechanisms for successful execution of social network services in the context of developing an effective B2C relationship, such as customer participation behavior. The S-O-R(Stimulus-Organism-Response) framework lays out the foundation for developing our research model and provides a structured view for understanding customer participation behavior on brand loyalty. For the methodology, this study employed a mixed-method approach. Additionally, in order to provide empirical evidences, a total of 121 respondents have completed the survey. All the data were compiled and analyzed through structural equation modeling and were implemented in partial least square (PLS). To sum up, this study presented theoretical and practical implications by providing the effect of customer participation behavior on brand loyalty through B2C microblogging.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine children's emotional and behavioral problems using parent and teacher ratings. The study also explored how children's individual factors were associated with their problems. The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire Korean version (SDQ-Kr) was completed by parents and teachers of 157 elementary school students. Parents reported perceptions of their child's social skills. Children completed the measure of self-esteem. The results showed that moderate to strong correlations were found between parents and teachers, revealing a stronger correlation in regard to hyperactivity than to emotional problems. Self-esteem and social skill were associated with emotional and behavioral problems in children classified by socio-emotional developmental level. Integrating information from parents and teachers can provide a more complete portrait of a child's adjustment and can better identify a child's problems. These findings highlight that self-esteem and social skill may play critical roles in intervening on children's emotional and behavioral problems.

  • Many of users play Mobil Social Network Games (M-SNG). M-SNGs are played through social network, and typically features multiplayer and asynchronous gameplay mechanics. It is most often implemented as mobile devices with mobile instant messenger app. Kakaotalk provids mobile game platform. The purpose of this study is to find significant factors that have effects on the commitment of M-SNGs. We also conduct multi-group comparison test to study the difference in factors of models between time t and time t1. Time t is October, 2012 and time t1 is April, 2016. This study is to empirically test the research model using data collected from M-SNGs' users. We survey two different groups of time t and time t1 people with the same model. We use structural equation model analysis with AMOS 18.0 and compare two models of different times. This study is to give academicians and practitioners insight about its effects and implications

  • This study concerns therapeutic effects and long-term effects of Therapy Dog Assisted Program (TDAP) on autistic children. Subjects participating in this study are two groups of Korean elementary school boys of the same age (twelve years old) : an experimental group and a controlled group of equal number of children (six children in total). The thirteen different sessions of the first intervention and eight different sessions of the second intervention were performed over six months (from April 20th to October 27th, 2000). Two standard instrument (ASIEP, E-CLAC) are used as major instruments in order to evaluate the effectiveness of TDAP. Evidene from the present study indicates that the children participating in TDAP program achieved a greater degree of improvement in their social interaction in comparison with the counterpart. The present study also demonstrates that, in general, the effectiveness of TDAP somewhat decreased after the termination of TDAP with some exceptions. However we also found that the effectiveness of TDAP were maintained in the some behavioral area such as bowing to teacher, play for cooperation with peers, which activities were sufficiently offered TDAP to the children. The questions of possible influence of parental support and other family background of each individual autistic child on the effect and long-term effect of TDAP need to be addressed in future study.

  • This study conducted a step-wise discriminant analysis to determine which variables play key roles in distinguishing among 3 mutually exclusive delinquent groups - disclosed delinquency group, closed delinquency group, and no delinquency group - and to 'develop a procedure for predicting group membership for new cases whose group membership is undetermined. Variables included in this study were collected by the review of previous empirical studies, which were identified as related to juvenile delinquency. The variables can be classified as character-related variables, family-related variables, school-related variables, peer-related variables, and socioeconomic variables. A sample of 693 youths were employed to conduct the statistical analysis. Out of 35 possible predictors of juvenile delinquency 14 variables were included in the pool of predicting variables. This study used a hold-out sample (n=300) to test if the linear discriminant function classify cases correctly into one of 3 groups. The percentage of cases classified correctly by the discriminant function was turned out to be acceptable in the area of social sciences. Discussions and suggestions were provided in terms of prevention and intervention for juvenile delinquency with focus on the 14 predictor variables.

  • Unlike the traditional belief that knowledge flows along the formal reporting procedures, recent social network research has reported the importance of informal social networks which may play a critical role as the real knowledge conduits. In fact, as a complementary approach of utilizing knowledge management systems (KMSs), many firms have focused on managing informal knowledge flow through which to acquire and transfer valuable knowledge in a fast and effective way. In a case of global companies that have newly developed foreign branches or subsidiaries, due to cultural or institutional differences and lack of understanding of knowledge management and its benefits, they often have difficulties in activating knowledge sharing in local branches. In these situations, diagnosing organizational knowledge flow through SNA can be a first step to solve the problems. Therefore, in this paper, I report on the result of case study on a foreign branch of "A" global company by identifying organizational knowledge paths. Based on the results of the diagnosis, some implications and insights for building knowledge management (KM) strategy specified for a newly developed foreign branch will also be discussed.

  • This study examines the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the role of Malaysian local wisdom called "Ugahari" in managing Work-Life Balance (WLB) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. Data was obtained through online and offline surveys which were distributed to the agencies in the public and private sectors spread across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Pura Jaya. Overall 466 respondents were found to have given valid and complete responses. This research utilized the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. It was found that the use of the ICT during Work from Home (WFH) helped workers to have relatively high flexibility where they could easily expand or contract one domain to meet the demands of another domain. At the same time it also offered high permeability where aspects of one domain entered another domain. This encourages workers to integrate their roles and achieve broad work autonomy. Furthermore, this situation then gives rise to a high level of interference at the boundary between work and family domains. On the other hand Ugahari reduces the level of interference caused by ICT use and encourages workers to compartmentalize their respective roles. Thus, ICT and Ugahari's behavior can play a role and complement each other in the context of realizing worker well-being.

  • This study examines how class differences are expressed through costumes based on the costumes of characters in Bong Joon-Ho's film . Based on Video on Demand (VOD), the main situations in which characters' costumes change in the play were captured and used as analysis data. Colors, textures, and color symbol were analyzed to find the formative properties shown in the characters' costumes. The results are as follows. The home wear of Kim's family were unsuitable for the top and bottom, faded clothes, and the vague boundary between outdoor and indoor clothes appeared. In comparison, Park's family's home wear was featured a modern and elegant design, a clear distinction that suited purpose and situation. Analysis of street wear showed that the Kim's family had a big difference before and after getting a job, and Park's family wore different costumes for the purpose of going out. Social class expressed in the film costumes were shown to have the characteristics of intrinsic class invariance, temporary class changes, differences in class expression by age, and differences in costume choice by class.
