온라인 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 글로벌 확산에 관한 연구 (Global Diffusion of Online Social Network Services : A Cross-Country Study)

  • This study examines online social media diffusion across different countries that will help to provide a picture of current global online social network services (SNSs). Analyzing country-level data drawn from 78 nations, we find that non-technological factors such as culture and language as well as technological factors including Internet penetration rate and smartphone adoption rate have significant effects on online social media diffusion. These findings, derived from a broad range of different countries, not only provide theoretical insights into understanding critical factors that enable successful global expansion of online social media services but also help practitioners plan their marketing strategies more effectively in a global context.

  • 타겟팅 서비스는 다양한 미디어 서비스 환경에서 사용자 프로파일, 선호도 및 사용 내역 등을 기반으로 사용자의 취향에 가장 적합한 서비스를 추천 및 제공함으로써, 서비스의 만족도와 이용량을 향상 시키는 주요한 응용서비스로서 주로 방송분야에서 연구되어 왔다. 타겟팅 서비스는 방송 콘렌츠에서 interstitial 콘텐츠로, 고정형 TV단말에서 모바일 단말로 서비스의 영역이 확대되고 있으며, 단순한 방송 데이터에서 광고 데이터, 쿠폰 및 관련 미디어 콘텐츠 정보 등으로 데이터의 종류가 다양해지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 정보를 기반으로 기사, 광고 및 방송정보에 대한 타겟팅 데이터 서비스를 설계, 구현하고자 한다. 이를 위해 웹 기반의 미디어 콘텐츠에 적용할 수 있도록 사용자 프로파일, 선호도 및 사용 내역 정보를 기존 TV-Anytime Forum의 사용자 메타데이터 및 OpenSocial의 사용자 정보를 기반으로 새롭게 정의하였다. 또한, 사용자 정보와 콘텐츠 정보간 유사도 및 사용 내역을 기반으로 사용자 선호도 정보 및 행동 패턴 정보를 생성하여 타겟팅 데이터 서비스를 구현하였다. 성능평가를 통해서 제안하는 타겟팅 데이터 서비스 기술이 기존의 방송 서비스뿐만 아니라, 웹 기반의 미디어 콘텐츠에서도 적용 가능 하다는 것을 확인하였다.

소셜 미디어의 인지된 가치가 브랜드관계품질에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 연구: 자기존중감 조절 효과 (Examining the Effects of Perceived Value of Social Media on the Brand Relationship Quality: The Moderating Role of Self-Esteem)

  • According to the previous studies about relationship marketing, customers who have relationship with preferable brand or company take spontaneous word of mouth(WOM) and make more purchases than those who don't. Recently, as e-commerce has been combined with social media, many companies that are looking for solution which can promote customer relationship quality using social media. This study aims to investigate the role of customer's perceived value on brand relationship quality in social media. Although perceived value has been defined from many perspectives, we only consider "perceived social value" and "perceived emotional value" in this paper. According to social capital theory, self-esteem is an important variable when we explain the relationships. Thus this paper considers "self-esteem" as a moderating variable between relationship quality and relationship retention. To serve the research purpose, we collect 226 valid questionnaires from social media users. And we analyze data set and test research hypotheses by using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20. We expect that the result contain a lot of implication for both researchers and practitioners. Major findings from analyzing 226 valid questionnaires are as follows. First, when customer recognizes social value about brand or company, relationship quality with the brand or company has been improved. Second, when customer recognizes emotional value about brand or company, relationship retain intention with the brand or company has been improved. Third, self-esteem doesn't have moderating effect between relationship quality and relationship retention in social media.

  • 소셜미디어가 마케팅 채널로 확대됨에 따라 소수의 일반인들도 소셜네트워크 서비스의 정보보급자 역할을 담당하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 뷰티채널의 소셜 미디어 마케팅에 관한 다양한 관점에서 그 영향관계를 분석하여 효율적인 소셜미디어 마케팅 운영 전략 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 뷰티 채널 소셜 미디어 경험이 소비자의 소셜미디어 만족도와 구매의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 살펴보았다. 소셜 미디어 경험의 구성요소를 오락성, 상호작용성, 최신성, 유용성으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 소셜미디어 경험은 브랜드 인지와 브랜드 이미지에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 확인되었다. 결과적으로 소셜미디어 경험은 소셜미디어 만족도와 구매의도에 큰 영향을 미쳤으며, 각 구성 요소에 대한 소셜미디어 경험의 영향 관계는 오락성, 유용성으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 뷰티 인플루언서의 전문성은 소셜미디어 만족도와 구매의도에 유의미한 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 소셜미디어 뷰티채널 관리와 인플루언서를 활용한 마케팅에 중요한 기초자료로 활용될 것이라고 판단되며, 효율적인 소비자 관리를 위한 마케팅 전략과 실무에 필요한 자료로 활용될 것이다.

Rural Communication in the Covid-19 Pandemic: an Empirical Analysis from Thua Thien Hue Province, Central Vietnam

  • The world has witnessed the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic. Mainstream and social media are playing an important role in Covid-19 pandemic prevention. This research explores awareness, communication channels and effectiveness of communication in the Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas of Thua Thien Hue province, Central Vietnam. Primary information was collected from 181 respondents, who are farmers, non-farmers and students. Secondary information was collected from reports and statistical data. Television, word of mouth and local loudspeakers are the main channels of mainstream media while social media mentions the role of Facebook and Zalo to transfer Covid-19 pandemic information. Mainstream media is still the main channel of farmers and old people while non-farmers and young people tend to access information through social media. Communication has significantly contributed to improving awareness and action of rural people in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention.

The Changes of Consumption Behavior in Bengkulu, Indonesia: Case of Purchasing Corona Prevention Products Through Indirect Ditribution Channel

  • Purpose: COVID-19, government regulation and social media have changed many aspects of life including consumption behavior. The influence of social media by spreading massive news about COVID-19 also have the impact toward emotions threat, perceived risk, and perceived value of consumption behavior in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the extent to which changes in the consumption behavior, mainly for purchasing of corona prevention products through indirect distribution channels. Research design, data and methodology: This research was descriptive quantitative using the IPA method with sample of people in Bengkulu Province. This study obtained 208 respondent data from questionnaires and tested the validity and reliability with corrected-item total correlation method. Results: The study found that COVID-19 pandemic and government regulation variable were in quadrant II, in quadrant III there were social media variable, emotions threat and perceived risk. Meanwhile, in quadrant IV there were perceived value variable. Conclusions: The findings indicated that COVID-19 and government regulation are the most variable that influence people to buy corona prevention product, meanwhile perceived value is the less influence variable. Therefore, government and marketers have to prepare strategic plan in order to raise people awareness to avoid corona by buying corona prevention product.

Continuous usage intention of social media as an online information distribution channels

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore the variables that may play a significant role in inducing Facebook users to use Facebook as online information distribution channels continuously. Research design, data, and methodology: The population of this study are all Facebook users who have actively used Facebook as a social media as online information distribution for at least one year. Purposive sampling technique was used in this study and 290 respondents were enrolled. The data was collected using a questionnaire and further analyzed with path analysis and SEM-PLS approach. Result: The results showed that perceived ease of use, perceived critical mass, perceived enjoyment, and perceived information intelligence have a positive and a significant effect towards perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness also has a positive and significant effect on users' attitude, and users' attitude has a positive and significant effect on intentions to use Facebook continuously among its users. Conclusions: Hence, it is important for Facebook as an online information distribution channel to maintain its perceived usefulness in order to create a positive impact on its users' and induce Facebook users' to use social media continuously.

FakedBits- Detecting Fake Information on Social Platforms using Multi-Modal Features

  • Social media play a significant role in communicating information across the globe, connecting with loved ones, getting the news, communicating ideas, etc. However, a group of people uses social media to spread fake information, which has a bad impact on society. Therefore, minimizing fake news and its detection are the two primary challenges that need to be addressed. This paper presents a multi-modal deep learning technique to address the above challenges. The proposed modal can use and process visual and textual features. Therefore, it has the ability to detect fake information from visual and textual data. We used EfficientNetB0 and a sentence transformer, respectively, for detecting counterfeit images and for textural learning. Feature embedding is performed at individual channels, whilst fusion is done at the last classification layer. The late fusion is applied intentionally to mitigate the noisy data that are generated by multi-modalities. Extensive experiments are conducted, and performance is evaluated against state-of-the-art methods. Three real-world benchmark datasets, such as MediaEval (Twitter), Weibo, and Fakeddit, are used for experimentation. Result reveals that the proposed modal outperformed the state-of-the-art methods and achieved an accuracy of 86.48%, 82.50%, and 88.80%, respectively, for MediaEval (Twitter), Weibo, and Fakeddit datasets.

소셜 미디어 상 고객피드백을 위한 감성분석 (The Sensitivity Analysis for Customer Feedback on Social Media)

  • SNS 등과 같은 소셜 미디어는 실시간으로 자발적인 고객의 의견들을 대거 포함하고 있어 최근 기업들은 효율적인 경영을 위해 소셜 미디어상의 빅 데이터를 분석하는 시스템을 이용하여 고객피드백에 관한 정보를 수집하고 분석하고 있다. 그러나 온라인 사이트에서 수집한 데이터는 띄어쓰기와 철자 오류가 많아 기존의 형태소 분석기로는 정확한 분석을 할 수 없다. 또한 온라인 상의 문장은 짧다는 특징이 있어 상호 정보량, 카이제곱 통계량 등과 같은 기존의 의미 선택 방법을 이용하게 되면 문장 내 선택 할 수 있는 의미의 부재로 인해 정확한 감성 분류를 할 수 없다는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 초/중성 및 어절 패턴 사전을 이용해서 보정할 수 있는 모듈과 문장 내 품사의 우선순위를 이용한 의미 선택 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 방법으로 형태소 분석기에서 추출된 품사 정보를 기반으로 용언과 체언을 분리해서 분석 해당 품사에 종속적인 속성 DB 구축 한 후 학습에 의해 누적된 속성 DB를 사용하여 보다 정확한 긍/부정 감성을 추출한다.

Evaluating the Usage of Social Medias in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Methodological Limitations and Adjustments

  • This research aimed to provide a profound description of the practices of social media users in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), specifically the users of Facebook® (FB) and Snapchat® (SC), the reasons for these practices, decisions made, and the people involved. Such research would be of significant help to designers and policymakers of social media applications in understanding user practices when using social media applications and the reasons for such practices in the KSA. This better comprehension would be of significant help in improving current applications and creating new ones. According to the data analysis, there was a clear preference for SC over FB in the KSA. Most participants with SC accounts were described as very active users, accessing their accounts at least once a day compared to FB users. The users were led by this high preference for SC to create new words derived from the name of the application and use them in daily life. We showed our experience of carrying out a study in which the main objective was to collect factual empirical data from participants about their daily usage of social media applications while considering the unique cultural settings in the KSA. Mixed quantitative and qualitative methods were used to triangulate the data, increasing its trustworthiness and validity. Multiple perspectives were obtained using various data collection methods. Therefore, conclusions would not be confounded with limitations of any particular methodology or with conditions of any collection rounds. This research would constitute a valuable guide for researchers intending to use methods with male and female informants from different cultures, preparing them for potential challenges and suggesting possible solutions.
