  • We analyze the social welfare effect when a policy-based financial system (PFS) enters a decentralized financial market. Particularly, the PFS in this case supports the interest spread for corporate loans held by firms with heterogeneous bankruptcy decisions under an imperfect information structure. Although support for capital costs through the PFS expands the economy consistently, the optimal level of PFS out of the corporate loan market is estimated to be 8.6% by a simulation model considering social welfare adjusted by the disutility of labor. This result is much lower than the recent level of PFS in the Korean financial sector.

  • This study begins with an interest in community capacity, the basis for mobilizing community action and the driving force of community development. The study aims to identify the structural equation model of community capacity, social participation, satisfaction in life, and the impact relationship and to verify the differences between urban and rural areas. The analysis data used the 2018Korean Social Integration Survey, which is the statistical data for national approval. The analysis method was performed by using SPSS was used to perform descriptive analysis and t-test, and the structural equation model. Multi-group analysis of AMOS was also performed to verify the research model. As the result of analysis, both the condition and status of community capacity and social participation, which are products of community capacity, showed a higher average of rural areas than urban areas. As a result of the analysis of the structural equation model between community capacity, social participation, and life satisfaction, differences between rural and urban groups were identified. In rural areas, both the capacity-condition and the capacity-status variables act as positive factors for social participation and life satisfaction, but in urban areas, the path of capacity-condition, social participation, capacity-status and life satisfaction was significant. On the other hand, social participation variables acted as a factor of direct and indirect negatively influence on life satisfaction. Therefore, it can be said that the quality of community capacity in rural areas is superior to that of urban areas.

  • Objectives: Rural housewives are integral to household management and family care, yet their sedentary lifestyles present significant health risks. This study used the transtheoretical model (TTM) to investigate strategies that encourage and maintain regular exercise habits among rural housewives. Methods: A semi-experimental study was conducted in 2021 with 114 housewives aged 30 to 59 who attended rural health centers in Gorgan, Iran. Participants were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups. Data collection involved a validated questionnaire that gathered demographic information and constructs of the TTM. The intervention group participated in a comprehensive educational program, which included four 60-minute sessions. Data were collected again 6 months post-intervention and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS version 21. Results: The study encompassed women with an average age of 39.75±6.05 years, the majority of whom had educational levels below a diploma, and over 90% were married. We observed strong correlations between the processes of change, self-efficacy, and decisional balance. At the outset, there were no significant differences in demographics or model structures between the 2 groups. However, 6 months post-intervention, the intervention group exhibited statistically significant differences in the mean scores of model structures, stages of change, and body mass index (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study highlights the importance of physical activity training for rural housewives. The findings suggest that the educational intervention, which utilized the TTM, significantly impacted the participants' model structures and their stages of change.

  • This study deals with the psycho-social development of children raised by disabled parents. In particular, we are willing to examine the influence of parental factors such as social engagement and future forecast on the change of children's psycho-social development. Using the three waves of Korean Welfare Panel Study data, these predictors were examined through the Latent Growth Curve Modeling. The result shows that parent's disability has a negative influence on their children's psycho-social development. However, similar to the findings of the previous studies, the degree of this influence tends to be decreased as children grow up. Lastly, two parental factors have a direct influence on the psychological development of children. Furthermore, parent's social engagement has an indirect influence on the change of sociality of children through the psychological change of them. This result means that we should encourage disabled parents to participate actively in social activities and think positively about their future.

  • Purpose: This investigation examined a model to predict body mass index in order to prevent later development of obesity among adolescents. The hypothesized model was developed based on the principle of Social Cognitive Theory that social influences predict perceptions of cognition as well as behavior. Method: The 5,770 adolescents, aged 14-18 who participated in this study came from 11 separate school districts in Busan and Kyungnam province of South Korea. The adolescent surveys were administered in a group setting at the participating school. Of the 5770 surveys, adolescents with more than 10 percent missing data in the entire survey were excluded. The final sample contained 4,527 cases. The adolescents were included 2,250 (49.7%) males and 2,277 (50.3%) females. Data was analyzed Pearson correlation coefficients using SPSS 12 program and structural equation model (SEM) using Maximum Likelihood estimation was employed using Amos 5.0. Results: Social support directly affects cognitive determinants. Cognitive determinants directly affect behavior determinants which directly affect BMI. Cognitive and behavioral factors mediated the relationship between social support and BMI (GFI= 0.984, CFI= 0.974, RMSEA=0.031). Conclusion: Social levels should be supportive to help adolescents have healthier behaviors. This support can be accomplished by providing frequent support to establish positive cognitive factors as the foundation of the solution to prevent overweight and obesity.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between agricultural insurance, agricultural loans, and the agricultural industry and find ways to consolidate and improve the interactive development between these three systems. We collected relevant data from 2009 to 2019 in 15 provinces of China and constructed a coupled coordination model to analyze the data. The results are as follows: First, the eastern part of China was ahead of the central and western parts in terms of agricultural loans and the agricultural industry, while the western part was ahead of the central and eastern parts in terms of agricultural insurance. Second, the coupling degree of the three systems in all 15 provinces reached an extremely high level. Third, all 15 provinces showed an overall continuous rise in coupling coordination degree. In 2019, eight provinces reached the medium-level coupling coordination development, and seven provinces were in a state of barely coupling coordination development. The three systems formed a mutually reinforcing relationship and basically entered a state of coordinated development. Finally, there was a great development gap between different regions of China concerning the coordinated development of the three systems, therefore, innovative development is urgently needed to further promote the coordinated development level.

  • Economic deprivation of households remains a significant economic issue in the world. Researchers have shown great concern in identifying crucial factors to enhance poor households' socio-economic performance. Therefore, this paper aims to develop a new conceptual framework to investigate the influence of different microfinance services on households' socioeconomic performance using moderated mediation analysis of various crucial factors. Focus-group interviews with managements of the microfinance institution, i.e. Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), and a systematic literature review were conducted for this purpose, and a new framework for the future study has been developed. The result from focus-group interviews and systematic literature review propose microfinance financial services, training programs, and business coaching as independent factors, whereas household socioeconomic performance as a dependent factor in the proposed model. Specifically, this study provides the direction to scholars to empirically test the direct relationship between financial services and household socioeconomic performance and the indirect relationship between training programs, business coaching, and household socioeconomic performance. Further, microfinance institutions' service efficiency is also included as a moderator that can strengthen microfinance services' effectiveness. The study also provides useful implications for policymakers, financial institutions, households, micro-enterprises, and researchers to better understand microfinance interventions and household economic mechanisms.
