  • When user wants to receive a smart safe return service, user sends a service request using a smart device to support GPS location data. After the smart safe return system receives the location of user, it selects the neighboring CCTV cameras based on user's location information, and controls the selected CCTV cameras to take a picture of the user, and to chase the user automatically. This service can be useful when there is a crime-ridden district on the path to return home late at night. Previous systems can't provide the smart safe return service to multiple user simultaneously. In this paper, we propose the smart safe return system which can provide the service to multiple users simultaneously.

  • Since the increasing use of smart devices such as smartphone and tablet PC improves the quality of convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication, many new media have been created. This smart device can provide personal environments based on user's profile (age, gender, and job) and current location. In addition, it can be regarded as a media platform with two-way communication. This paper proposes personalized message syndication, called PMS, based on smart devices and then analyzes its business and technical issues. The PMS service as a smart media provides consumers customized information and can be used for producer's marketing tools which can lead consumers' heart and participation.

  • SMART home is one of the most popular applications of Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies, which is expanding in terms of range of applications. SMART home technology provides convenience at home by connecting household appliances to a single network, control, and management. However, many general home appliances do not support the network functions yet; hence, enjoying such convenient technology could be difficult, and it could be expensive in the beginning to build the framework. In addition, even though products with SMART home technologies are purchased, the control systems could differ from device to device. Thus, in this paper, we propose a SMART home framework, called an S-mote that can operate all the IoT functions in a single application by adding an infrared or radio frequency module to general home appliances. The proposed framework is analyzed using four types of performance tests by five evaluators. The results of the experiment show that the SMART home environment was implemented successfully and that it functions appropriately, without any operational issues, with various home appliances, including the latest IoT devices, and even those equipped with an infrared or radio frequency module.

  • In this paper, we present Emergency exit signs are installed to provide escape routes or ways in buildings like shopping malls, hospitals, industry, and government complex, etc. and various other places for safety purpose to aid people to escape easily during emergency situations. In case of an emergency situation like smoke, fire, bad lightings and crowded stamped condition at emergency situations, it's difficult for people to recognize the emergency exit signs and emergency doors to exit from the emergency building areas. This paper propose an automatic emergency exit sing recognition to find exit direction using a smart device. The proposed approach aims to develop an computer vision based smart phone application to detect emergency exit signs using the smart device camera and guide the direction to escape in the visible and audible output format. In this research, a CAMShift object tracking approach is used to detect the emergency exit sign and the direction information extracted using template matching method. The direction information of the exit sign is stored in a text format and then using text-to-speech the text synthesized to audible acoustic signal. The synthesized acoustic signal render on smart device speaker as an escape guide information to the user. This research result is analyzed and concluded from the views of visual elements selecting, EXIT appearance design and EXIT's placement in the building, which is very valuable and can be commonly referred in wayfinder system.

  • Recent wearable smart device products, but with a variety of features and form that go out after a series of releases in has been outside for a lack of consumer content. The device advances, the type of equipment attached to the user's body was released, which was the background to be subjected to a health-care products of interest to the user and the machine-to-machine interaction. This study is to identify health care elements wearable smart device content around the market with features to interact with the game content and game content derived elements fit smart wearable devices. Survey research method was developed or released wearable devices and game content and take advantage of this any existing research literature related to game development. Based on this we derive the interactive elements for a wearable smart devices based.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop walk score application GUI in a smart device for improving user convenience. This study uses the walk score dataset of Seoul City developed in previous studies. Application GUI consists of five parts: address input window and search button, detail information (address, latitude, longitude, walk score), window switching and input window for a number of data, data input window, and menu button. For verifying application GUI, this study uses 12 locations (sets of address, latitude, longitude, and walk score) near Gangnam Station and Myungdong Station in Seoul in several scenarios. First, this study checks if the application has been implemented with address and keyword search options. Then, new data insertion and file output operations are evaluated. The application system developed in this study operated properly in all scenarios. This walk score application can be a useful device in our daily lives.

  • In this paper, we propose the development of an embedded board for construction of smart factory. The proposed embedded board for construction of smart factory consists of main module, ADC module, I/O module. Main module is a main calculating device which includes communication pard that allows interface with external device with using industrial protocol and is ported operating system makes board operating into. ADC module takes part in transferring digital signal has converted from electrical signal to the main module from the external sensor which is installed on the field. I/O module is an input and output module which transfers to the main module about a status, alarm, command signal of field device and it has a function that blocks external noises from field device with isolation circuit into it. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed embedded board for construction of smart factory, it has been tested by an authorized testing institute. As a result, quantity of interacting protocol was 5, speed of hardware clock synchronization was under 10us and operating time of battery without source power was over 8 hours. It produced the same result as the world's highest level.

  • Today all kinds of smart devices are being developed with various researches on wearable devices that support smart computing on the human body. Skin diseases continue to rise including freckles, pimples, atopy, and scalp trouble due to the environmental and genetic factors, and people pay bigger medical bills to treat their skin diseases. There is thus a need to develop a smart-phone or table-based smart healthcare imaging system of high portability and diagnostic accuracy capable of analyzing and managing various skin problems related to skin care. This study proposed an integrated system combining the Smart Mi Band, a wearable device using moisture and UV sensors based on IoT, on the hardware part with the sensor information monitoring software.

  • In the recent gaming industry, the paradigm has been changed with upcoming core-platform as time goes by. Arcade, console, PC online and smart device platforms are representative ones. In recently, the platform is changed to multi-platform which connecting to smart device and other platforms. Besides, the multi-platform without PC is up-coming. This paper suggests that a kind of multi-platform which connecting from smart devices to arcade devices be aware of lack of continuous. It provides a new arcade gaming condition connecting to smart devices, then supplies online network conditions to the arcade gaming machine. The original arcade game was lack of continuous and the game platform was so simple, but now, it could be focused from players by connecting to smart devices to increase the gaming machines' continuity. Furthermore, Bluetooth communication module and wireless Wi-Fi communication module are used to adapt various communication environments. The Unity3D engine would make contents' expandability.
