  • This study aims to develop a multi-functional cage for dogs as a house to reduce their anxiety when they go out using cages. This study investigates the types and characteristics of cages and cage preference by surveying men and women in their 20s who use them. The cage product reviews are also analyzed. The research results are as follows: First, domestic dog cages are classified into crate, shoulder, cross (sling bag), backpack, carrier, and stroller types. The crate type is easy to clean and can be used as a house, but it is bulky and therefore inconvenient to carry when using public transportation. The shoulder type is a fabric material with good air permeability but has the disadvantage of being easily soiled. It can be used as a house and is light weight, making it convenient when using public transportation. Second, as a result of consumer research, respondents prefer the shoulder-type fabric over the crate-type plastic material. Third, from the shoulder-type product review, the shape stability, companion dogs' psychological safety, the wearability of companions, and management convenience are derived. Fourth, based on the survey results, a multi-functional cage is developed taking into account the companion dog, companion person, and functional factors.

On recognition of view, most subjects of research considered high-storied apartment houses hindered urban view and its regulation is needed. Apartment houses at small cities become main factors of hindering urban view because they were located randomly regardless of scale of city and surrounding situation, but there is no measure to control it. Accordingly, view control through enaction of regulations is urgently needed with establishment of guidelines such as height of large buildings including high-storied apartment houses, length of main building, location and regulation of exterior design.

  • This paper explores the relationships between technological acquisition strategies of small firms and innovation in the Korean Electronics industry. Its thesis is that small firms' technology strategies and their effects on the rate of innovation differ according to the new and traditional technology settings. A primary finding of this study is that in-house R & D and technical linkages with buyers and suppliers have stronger effects on the radical innovation in the new technology setting rather than in the traditional technology setting. The findings of the study provides insight for interpreting inconsistent results of recent research for the importance of external linkages to innovation. They also suggest some implications of small firms' strategies and public policies for accelerating technological innovation.

The packaging step was best f3r the determination of grading in the large slaughter house. This survey indicated that two or more grades were proper to determine the grading in the middle slaughter house, however only two grades were proper for the others. Freshness, bruise, wound, trimming and the inclusion of foreign materials affected to the grading. Poultry meat cuts were accepted for the grading in large-slaughter house, but whole poultry carcass was accepted for the grading in the others. • This study was made to determine the factors involving personal exposure levels of nitrogen dioxide for housewives living in urban area in two seasons, winter and summer. Nitrogen dioxide was measured with a small passive sampler containing triethanolamine. The samplers were set for 24 hours at three points. They were places: on the collar of the housewife to investigate the personal exposure level, near the TV in the living room (indoor level), and near the porch of their house (outdoor level). The subjects recorded the times of cooking using a gas range, using a kitchen ventilator, passive smoking, kerosene heater, total number of minutes at an open window, going out of home, etc.$\ldots. There was an apparent increase in personal exposure level in the case of the unvented heater and also an increase by cooking on a gas range. There was no marked increase in the other situations. There was an increase in the indoor level by cooking on a gas range, only in western style cooking in the winter season. Through these observations, we concluded that personal exposure level of nitrogen dioxide was strongly related to indoor nitrogen dioxide level, and factors involving indoor nitrogen dioxide level seemed different between winter and summer. The most significant difference in nitrogen dioxide level was indoor pollution in the winter and the outdoor environment in the summer. The maximum personal exposure level appeared in the western and tenement house in the winter and the traditional korean house in the summer.

  • In this study, the plane type of main building relics of unified Silla period house site which excavated in Gyeongju city after 1990s was classified and the architectural characteristic of them was investigated. The chronology of building relics in Silla capital city site was mostly known as 8-9th century, and by standard of column arrangement, the plane types of them could be classified as grid type, front veranda-grid type, outer column type. The outstanding characteristic of plane is wide span and open front veranda. In most relics the span were over 4 meters, and inner foundations for small post and strip foundation were found between columns. The front veranda added type buildings were composited of enclosed main room and open front veranda, and column arrangement of them dose not fall into line in most case. Thus it thought that the structures of enclosed main room and open front veranda were independent. The interior space of enclosed main room were divided two rooms by partition wall in some case. In this case, one room is enclosed by wall, and the other room has open front side. This plane is considered for the pleasant life in cold winter and hot summer.
