The Distribution Automation System(DAS) Master Station(MS) is the core of the system, which has the functions of supervising, data acquisition, processing and man-machine interface. In this paper, we suggested the optimal configuration of the medium/small scale DAS MS in accordance with the consideration of various requirements such as reliability, scalability flexibility, etc.
Potential energy function sets for some ion-exchanged A-type zeolites, K-A and Rb11Na1-A, were determined by introducing the X-ray crystal structures as constraints. The potential functions reproduced well the X-ray crystal structures of the monovalent ion-exchanged zeolites. The activation energies for the en- or de-capsulation of small molecules (H2, O2, N2, and CH4) and inert gases from the α-cage of model zeolites (Na-A, K-A, Rb11Na1-A, and Cs3Na9-A) were obtained by the molecular mechanical calculations. The calculated activation energies agreed well with experimental results.
This paper is concerned with the value distribution for meromorphic solutions f of a class of nonlinear partial differential-difference equation of first order with small coefficients. We show that such solutions f are uniquely determined by the poles of f and the zeros of f - c, f - d (counting multiplicities) for two distinct small functions c, d.
The small GTPase RhoA has been studied extensively for its role in actin dynamics. In this study, multiple bioinformatics tools were applied cooperatively to the microarray dataset GSE64714 to explore previously unidentified functions of RhoA. Comparative gene expression analysis revealed 545 differentially expressed genes in RhoA-null cells versus controls. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was conducted with three gene set collections: (1) the hallmark, (2) the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway, and (3) the Gene Ontology Biological Process. GSEA results showed that RhoA is related strongly to diverse pathways: cell cycle/growth, DNA repair, metabolism, keratinization, response to fungus, and vesicular transport. These functions were verified by heatmap analysis, KEGG pathway diagramming, and direct acyclic graphing. The use of multiple gene set collections restricted the leakage of information extracted. However, gene sets from individual collections are heterogenous in gene element composition, number, and the contextual meaning embraced in names. Indeed, there was a limit to deriving functions with high accuracy and reliability simply from gene set names. The comparison of multiple gene set collections showed that although the gene sets had similar names, the gene elements were extremely heterogeneous. Thus, the type of collection chosen and the analytical context influence the interpretation of GSEA results. Nonetheless, the analyses of multiple collections made it possible to derive robust and consistent function identifications. This study confirmed several well-described roles of RhoA and revealed less explored functions, suggesting future research directions.

In order to examine the accuracy of the intensity method, the fiber orientation-angle distribution of fiber-reinforced polymeric composites is measured using image processing. The fiber orientation function is calculated from the fiber orientation measured by the soft X-ray photograph. Theoretical and experimental results of fiber orientation function are compared for the composites with different fiber contents and fiber orientations. The intensity method is used for the experimental investigation and the measured fiber orientation function is compared to the calculated one. The relations between the measured and the simulated fiber orientation functions $J{\small{M}}$ and $J{\small{S}}$ respectively are identified. For the fiber length of 1.000mm and 2.000mm, it shows that $J{\small{M}}=0.83J{\small{M}}$. However. in general. the value of $J{\small{M}}$ decreases as the fiber length increases. For GFRP composites the relations between $J{\small{M}}$ and theoretical value J show that $J{\small{M}}$=0.73J for short fiber and $J{\small{M}}$=0.81J for long fiber.
Diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN) is the most common form of diabetic neuropathy, and causes a significant morbidity with an impact on the quality of life in the patients with diabetes. Since DPN frequently induces foot deformity and ulceration, which finally leads to foot amputation, the early detection and treatment is very important for the prevention of a permanent structural change. In the early stage of DPN, the diagnostic methods which can evaluate the function or structure of small nerve fibers should be employed because small nerve fibers are first involved in the course of DPN. However, the nerve conduction study cannot reflect the function of the small nerve fibers, and thus, has a definite limitation in the early diagnosis of DPN. For the early detection of DPN, electrodiagnostic data should be interpreted on a clinical context, along with the careful evaluation of the small nerve fiber functions using the tests such as the analysis of intraepidermal nerve fiber density.

In small embedded systems including IoT devices, memory size is very small and it is important to reduce memory amount for execution of application programs. For multi-threaded applications, stack may consume a large amount of memory because each thread has its own stack of sufficiently large size for worst case. This paper presents an implementation of single stack multi-threading, called SSThread (Single Stack Thread), by sharing a stack for all threads to reduce stack memory size. By using SSThread, multi-threaded applications can be programmed based on normal C language environment and there is no requirement of transporting multi-threading operating systems. It consists of several library functions and various C macro definitions. Even though some functional restrictions in comparison to operating systems supporting complete multi-thread functionalities, it is very useful for small embedded systems with tiny memory size and it is simple to setup programming environment for multi-thread applications.
Electrospun nanofibers are being widely used as a substratum for mammalian cell culture owing to their structural similarity to collagen fibers found in extracellular matrices of mammalian cells and tissues. Especially, development of diverse synthetic polymers has expanded use of electrospun nanofibers for constructing cell culture substrata. Synthetic polymers have several benefits comparing to natural polymer for their structural consistency, low cost, and capability for blending with other polymers or small molecules to enhance their structural integrity or add biological functions. PMGI (polymethylglutarimide) is one of the synthetic polymers that produced a rigid nanofiber that enables incorporation of small molecules, peptides, and gold nanoparticles through co-electrospinning process, during which the materials are fixed without any chemical modifications in the PMGI nanofibers by maintaining their activities. Using the phenomenon of PMGI nanofiber, here I introduce a construction method of a nanofiber substratum having cell-affinity function towards a pluripotent stem cell by incorporating a small molecule in the PMGI nanofiber.

We study a semiparametric Bayesian approach to small area estimation under a nested error linear regression model with area level covariate subject to measurement error. Consideration is given to radial basis functions for the regression spline and knots on a grid of equally spaced sample quantiles of covariate with measurement errors in the nested error linear regression model setup. We conduct a hierarchical Bayesian structural measurement error model for small areas and prove the propriety of the joint posterior based on a given hierarchical Bayesian framework since some priors are defined non-informative improper priors that uses Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods to fit it. Our methodology is illustrated using numerical examples to compare possible models based on model adequacy criteria; in addition, analysis is conducted based on real data.
It is demonstrated by using a highly positive uranium ion as a test case that the exact relation between the small and the large components of a Dirac spinor in relativistic self-consistent-field (RSCF) calculations is not fully satisfied by the kinetic balance condition only even for two electron systems. For a fixed number of large component basis functions, total energies are sensitive to the change of the size of the small component basis sets even after the kinetic balance condition is fully satisfied. However, the kinetic balance condition appears to be a reasonable guideline in generating reliable and practical basis sets for most applications of RSCF calculations. With a complete small component basis set, energies from RSCF calculations exhibit a variational behavior, implying the stability of the present RSCF procedure.
