  • TD-CDMA is based on a combination of CDMA, TDMA, and TDD technologies, and it is proposed to support TDD mode for IMT-2000 service. To analyze the performance of TD-CDMA, we have to establish a modeling technique that takes into account the interference that can occur in each scheme. There is special interference in TDD mode, e.g. interference from base station to base station and from mobile to mobile. In this paper, we present an interference model for analyzing the performance of TD-CDMA systems and the slot allocation strategies. This model includes the cell synchronization error. As a result, this paper shows that almost equal slot allocation and low cell synchronization error guarantee desirable performance in TD-CDMA.

  • In this paper, a channel access control algorithm and a dynamic slot allocation algorithm are proposed for rt_VBR services and ABR services in the wireless ATM networks. In the proposed algorithm, rt_VBR terminals that require real-time services transmit a reservation request packet by a RAS minislot. An rt_VBR terminal, which transmitted the reservation request packet, transmits the dynamic parameters by DPS minislot without contention. On the other hand, ABR terminals that have a non-real-time traffic burst transfer a reservation request packet with contention basis. Based on the received dynamic parameters, the base station scheduler allocates uplink data slots as well as DPS minislot into rt_VBR terminals.

  • The recent increase in use of the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for wireless connectivity in personal area networks makes of it an important technology for low-cost low-power wireless personal area networks. Studies showed that voice communications over IEEE 802.15.4 networks is feasible by Guaranteed Time Slot (GTS) allocation; but there are some constraints to accommodate voice transmission beyond two hops due to the excessive transmission delay. In this paper, we propose a GTS allocation scheme for bidirectional voice traffic in IEEE 802.15.4 multihop networks with the goal of achieving fairness and optimization of resource allocation. The proposed scheme uses a greedy algorithm to allocate GTSs to devices for successful completion of voice transmission with efficient use of bandwidth while considering closest devices with another factor for starvation avoidance. We analyze and validate the proposed scheme in terms of fairness and resource optimization through numeral analysis.

  • This paper proposes a new DBA (dynamic bandwidth allocation) algorithm for a TWDM PON (time and wave-division multiplexing passive optical network) which is based on XGPON (10-Gigibit-Capable PON). Modifying a DBA algorithm of an XGPON, the proposed algorithm not only allocates the transmission slot but also assigns a wavelength to use for each ONU.

  • In this paper, we investigate power allocation scheme and outage performance for a physical-layer network coding (PNC) relay based secondary user (SU) communication in cognitive multi-antenna relay networks (CMRNs), in which two secondary transceivers exchange their information via a multi-antenna relay using PNC protocol. We propose an optimal energy-efficient power allocation (OE-PA) scheme to minimize total energy consumption per bit under the sum rate constraint and interference power threshold (IPT) constraints. A closed-form solution for optimal allocation of transmit power among the SU nodes, as well as the outage probability of the cognitive relay system, are then derived analytically and confirmed by numerical results. Numerical simulations demonstrate the PNC protocol has superiority in energy efficiency performance over conventional direct transmission protocol and Four-Time-Slot (4TS) Decode-and-Forward (DF) relay protocol, and the proposed system has the optimal outage performance when the relay is located at the center of two secondary transceivers.

  • In this paper we focus on dynamic reservation slot allocation scheme for supporting QoS of a voice traffic in WATM MAC. Especially, voice traffic is the most important real-time object, and so we propose a new MAC protocol for voice traffic over WATM networks in the multimedia environment. According to the characteristics of voice traffic which is repeatedly in silent state and active state, new protocol allocates reservation slots dynamically with respect to the number of silent voice source of which starting time is stored to the state table in base station (BS). The simulation results show that the proposed protocol has better performance than slotted ALOHA in average access delay, collision rate, better than NC-PRMA(Non Collision Packet Reservation Multiple Access) in band width efficiency, and can provide a certain level of QoS requirement by the given slot assignment even though the number of voice terminals is increased.

  • In this paper, n study a distributed establishment scheme to setup lightpath in WDM/TDM Network considering user traffic characteristics. We propose a GBTA(guaranteed-bandwidth time-slot allocation) algorithm which assigns time-slots according to the requred traffic so that it can utilize given network resources efficiently in RWTA(routing and wavelength time-slot assignment) schemes. We consider traffic specification on the basis of ATM traffic classes. Also, in order to increase link utilization and minimize blocking probability, we extend distributed lightpath establishment protocol based on GBTA algorithm. In order to establish lightpath in distributed WDM/IDM network, we use backward resonation protocol that resewes resource with recent information. We use DOWTns(Distributed Optical WDM/TDM ns) that is extended from NS(Network Simulator), in order to verify proposed GBTA-based optical wavelength routed network.

  • Please WBAN(Wireless Body Area Networks) is wireless communication of within 3 m radius from inside and outside of the body. WBAN is many uses IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol for WBAN MAC protocol requirements. IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol applies GTS(Guaranteed Time Slot) allocation scheme for guarantee packet delivery of application which requests QoS(Quality of Service). However, GTS allocation scheme of IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol uses FIFS(First In First Service) queueing. So it reduces data transmission reliability and has many problems. Therefore, IEEE 802.15.4 applies not WBAN MAC protocol for emergency data transmission. In this paper, we proposes a priority based MAC protocol for emergency data transmission in wireless body area networks. the proposal MAC protocol sets priority the data. So GTS reqeuest throughput of emergency data increasing and GTS allocation delay of emergency data decreasing.

  • An allocation of sensing and reporting times is proposed to improve the sensing performance by scheduling them in an efficient way for cognitive radio networks with cluster-based cooperative spectrum sensing. In the conventional cooperative sensing scheme, all secondary users (SUs) detect the primary user (PU) signal to check the availability of the spectrum during a fixed sensing time slot. The sensing results from the SUs are reported to cluster heads (CHs) during the reporting time slots of the SUs and the CHs forward them to a fusion center (FC) during the reporting time slots of the CHs through the common control channels for the global decision, respectively. However, the delivery of the local decision from SUs and CHs to a CH and FC requires a time which does not contribute to the performance of spectrum sensing and system throughput. In this paper, a super-allocation technique, which merges reporting time slots of SUs and CHs to sensing time slots of SUs by re-scheduling the reporting time slots, has been proposed to sense the spectrum more accurately. In this regard, SUs in each cluster can obtain a longer sensing duration depending on their reporting order and their clusters except for the first SU belonged to the first cluster. The proposed scheme, therefore, can achieve better sensing performance under -28 dB to -10 dB environments and will thus reduce reporting overhead.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive multislot allocation algorithm in order to achieve large system capacity and higher throughput data transmissions. The proposed system is the combination of the slow adaptive modulation system, in which the base station dynamically a signs optimum modulation parameters measuring the CNR(carrier to noise power ratio) of each transmission terminal, and the multislot allocation scheme, in which the base station flexibly allocates an appropriate number of TDMA data slots according to the instantaneous load conditions. Computer simulations confirm that the proposed system can tremendously improve average message delay characteristics in comparison with the conventional fixed slot allocation method.
