A New Improved Integral Variable Structure Systems for Uncertain Systems (새로운 개선된 적분 가변구조제어기)

  • A new improved variable structure controller is designed to drive uncertain linear systems to any given point by using a sliding surface with an integral of state error for removing any reaching phases. Predetermination or prediction of output response is feasible for all the persistent disturbances. The usefulness of the proposed algorithm is verified through an illustrative example.

  • The conventional sliding mode control and variable structure control (VSC) of nonlinear uncertain system are well known for their robust property and simplity of control law. However, the use of them is only pardonable on the assumption that the upper-bound of parameter variation or nonlinearity is known and that the complete information about state is available. Though the former has been solved with adaptive robust control theory recently, the latter seems not to be solved. In this paper, we try to solve this problem using the technique of VSS adaptive robust control theory. That is, we propose a VSS adaptive observer and a sliding mode control incorporated with this observer. We can prove the robust stability of the closed system applying the Lyapunov's second method.

  • In this paper, we discuss the problem of continuous k.nearest neighbors (CKNN) monitoring over distributed streams wavelet synopses, which also considered sliding window structure under stream based kNN query. We developed traditional skylines techniques and propose a new method which called DR.skylines to process CKNN queries as a bandwidth.efficient approach. It tries to process CKNN queries on synopses for optimized sliding window time and space computation.

  • The position control accuracy of a robot arm is significantly deteriorated when a long arm robot is operated at a high speed. In this case, the robot arm must be modeled as a flexible structure, not a rigid one, and its control system should be designed with its elastic modes taken into account. In this paper, the tip position control scheme of a one-link flexible manipulator using 2-DOF controller with sliding mode is presented. The robot consists of a flexible arm manufactured with a thin aluminium plate, an AC servo motor with a harmonic drive for speed reduction, an optical encoder and a CCD camera as a vision sensor for on-line measuring the tip deflection of the flexible m. Simulation and experimental results of the flexible manipulator with a proposed controller are provided to show the effectiveness of the controller.

  • MRAS observer, which is based on adaptive control theory, estimates speed and position by using optimal observer gains on the basis of Lyapunov stability theory. However, in case of MRAS theory, position estimation error is in existence because of non-linearity for inductance variation and limit cycles for position estimation. The adaptive sliding observer based on the variable structure control theory estimates the speed and position for zero of estimation error by using the sliding surface equal to the error between speed and position estimation. The binary observer estimates the rotor speed and rotor flux with alleviation of the high-frequency chattering, and retains the benefits achieved in the conventional sliding observer, such as robustness to parameter and disturbance variations. The speed and position sensorless control of SRM under the load and inductance variation is verified by the experimental results.

  • The variable structure control(VSC) with sliding mode is an important and interesting topic in modern control of nonlinear systems. However, the discontinuous control law in VSC leads to undesirable chattering in practice. As a method solving this problem, in this paper, we propose a scheme of the VSC with neural network sliding surface. A neural network sliding surface with boundary layer is employed to solve discontinuous control law. The proposed controller can eliminate the chattering problem of the conventional VSC. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation results.

  • In this paper, distributed tension observer for R2R process is proposed. The minimal order observer theory is utilized to design the distributed tension observer. The proposed method estimates the tension of a specific sub-process based on the speed and tension information from its adjacent sub-processes. Utilizing its properties, the proposed method can be applied to decentralized control structure. In order to achieve high estimation accuracy, sliding mode technique is also adopted to the proposed method.

  • This paper presents the design of a now controller for the read/write head of a hard disk drive. The general controller for seeking is the time-optimal control. However if we use only the time optimal control law, this could be vulnerable to chattering effect. To solve this problem, we propose a modified controller design algorithm in this paper. The proposed controller consists of bang-bang control for seeking and sliding-mode control for tracking. Moreover, to test the robustness and stability of control system, a bounded disturbance is selected to maximize a severity index. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed controller through comparison with time optimal VSC(variable structure control).

  • This paper presents a new speed and position sensorless control method of permanent magnet synchronous motors based on the sliding mode observer. The sliding mode observer structure and its design method are described. Also, Lyapunov functions are chosen for determining the adaptive law for the speed and the stator resistance estimator. The effectiveness of the proposed observer is confirmed by the experimental results.

  • 가변구조 제어시스템(variable structure control system)을 위해 제안된 기존의 대부분 슬라이딩 서피스 (sliding surface)는 주어진 초기조건과 무관하게 설계되었으며, 서피스 계수 또는 임의로 설정되었다. 이러한 서피스를 갖는 제어시스템은 슬라이딩 운동이 일어나기 전까지 외란등에 매우 민감하며 또한 느린 추적시간 (tracking time)을 초래한다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 임의로 주어진 초기조건을 항상지나 며 시간에 따라 기울기 및 절편이 변하는 새로운 슬라이딩 서피스를 설계하였다. 이 서피스와 연계된 제어시스 템의 슬라이딩 모드(sliding mode) 존재성을 증명하였고, 서피스의 움직임 절차를 상세히 기술하였다. 2차 선형 시스템과 2자유도계 로봇의 추적제어를 통해 제안된 방법의 효율성과 우수성을 입증하였다.
