A new Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) called a Gradient-Descent Based Self-Organizing Controller is presented. The Self-Organizing Controller(SOC) has two inputs such as error and change of error, and updates control rules with monitoring a performance measure. There are many works in the SOC which concentrate on the self-organizing ability in control rule base, but have a few research on the performance measure which is akin to sliding mode control. With this procedure, we can get a robust performance measure on the SOC. To verify the perfomance of proposed controller, we have performed for the cart-pole system which is one of the well-known benchmark problem in the control literature.
Sources of nonlinearity In a fuzzy logic controller Include the fuzzification, the fuzzy reasoning and the defuzzification. In this paper, a closed form expression for the defuzzified output is derived in case of a fuzzy logic controller with two Inputs, triangular memberships, MacVicar-Whelan type linguistic rules, and direct fuzzy reasoning. As a result, it is shown that fuzzy logic controller is a nonlinear controller. Also its nonlinearity Is analyzed with respect to the conventional PID control and the sliding mode control.
Cutting process has been automated by progress of CNC and CAD/CAM, but polishing process has been depended on only experiential knowledge of expert. To automate the polishing pricess polishing robot with 2 degrees of freedom which is attached to a machining center with 3 degrees of freedom has been developed. this automatic polishing robot is able to keep the polishing tool normal on the curved surface of die to improve a performance of polishing. Polishing task for a curved surface die demands repetitive operation and high precision, but conventional control algorithm can not cope with the problem of disturbance such as a change of load. In this research, we develop robust controller using real time sliding mode algorithm. To obtain gain parameters of sliding model control input, the signal compression method is used to identify polishing robot system. To obtain an effect of 5 degrees of freedom motion, 5 axes NC data for polishing are divided into data of two types for 3 axis machining center and 2 axis polishing are divided into data of two types for 3 axis machining center and 2 axis polishing robot. To find an efficient polishing condition to obtain high quality, various experiments are carried out.
In this paper, we presents sliding surface design techniques using the virtual state. This sliding surface has same dynamic of nominal system and permit application with other controller. If select initial value of the virtual state properly, problem of reaching phase disappears. And applied in AC servo motor's speed control to show performance of proposed sliding mode control techniques.
The wheel slip control systems are able to control the braking force more accurately and can be adapted to different vehicles more easily than conventional ABS systems. In order to achieve the superior braking performance through the wheel-slip control, real-time information such as the tire braking force at each wheel is required. In addition, the optimal target slip values need to be determined depending on the braking objectives such as minimum braking distance, stability enhancement, etc. In this paper, a robust wheel slip controller is developed based on the adaptive sliding mode control method and an optimal target slip assignment algorithm. An adaptive law is formulated to estimate the longitudinal braking force in real-time. The wheel slip controller is designed using the Lyapunov stability theory and considering the error bounds in estimating the braking force and the brake disk-pad friction coefficient. The target slip assignment algorithm is developed for the maximum braking force and searches the optimal target slip value based on the estimated braking force. The performance of the proposed wheel-slip control system is verified In simulations and demonstrates the effectiveness of the wheel slip control in various road conditions.
