  • Recently the heavy weight impact noise transmitted slab vibration has been recognized as an important issue. The aim of this study is to find the path of vibration transmission, comparing the numerical analysis with the field test results. Additionally the effect of stiffening beam element under slab, as a method to increase the stiffness of slab, will be shown concerning natural frequencies.

박스형 암거와 보강슬래브에 의한 줄눈 콘크리트 포장의 거동 (Behavior of Jointed Concrete Pavement by Box Culvert and Reinforced Slab)

  • PURPOSES : Hollows are easily made, and bearing capacity can be lowered near underground structures because sublayers of pavement settle for a long time due to difficult compaction at the position. If loadings are applied in this condition, distresses may occur in pavement and, as the result, its lifespan can decrease due to the stress larger than that expected in design phase. Although reinforced slab is installed on side of box culvert to minimize the distresses, length of the reinforced slab is fixed as 6m in Korea without any theoretical consideration. The purpose of this paper is investigating the behavior of concrete pavement according to the cover depth of the box culvert ad the length of the reinforced slab. METHODS : The distresses of concrete pavement slabs were investigated and cover depth was surveyed at position where the box culverts were located in expressways. The concrete pavements including the box culverts were modeled by finite element method and their behaviors according to the soil cover depth were analyzed. Wheel loading was applied after considering self weight of the pavement and temperature gradient of the concrete pavement slab at Yeojoo, Gyeonggi where a test road was located. After installing pavement joint at various positions, behavior of the pavement was analyzed by changing the soil cover depth and length of the reinforced slab. RESULTS : As the result, the tensile stress developed in the pavement slab according to the joint position, cover depth, and reinforced slab length was figured out. CONCLUSIONS : More reasonable and economic design of the concrete pavement including the box culvert is expected by the research results.

  • Computer programs have been developed to design the forging dies of turbine and compressor blades. The design of forging dies is based the side force and the filling of die cavity. In this study, slab method has been applied to simulate forging processes numerically. the program composed of Visual Basic also provides the informations of mean stress, total forging load, distribution of temperature, position of neutral line, total volume and volume of flash in the final stage to users. The preform position is predicted by the reverse slab method. The program has been successfully applied to various types of turbine blades.

  • 원형으로 굽은 평판 광도파로를 직선 광도파로로 등각사상화 시켰다. 단조 증가하는 굴절률 분포를 갖는 바깥쪽 클래드영역의 누설모드를 표현하기 위해 진행파형 수정된 Airy함수가 처음으로 소개되었다. 모의 전산을 통해 유도된 방법에 의한 굽음손실 및 field해 분포를 계산하고, WKB에 의한 결과와 비교하였다. 모의 전산결과 기존의 WKB 방법에 비해 회기점에서 수렴하는 해를 구할 수 있었으며, 더 정확한 굽음 손실을 계산할 수 있었다.

  • The total length of Korean urban railways reaches 1,200km. Urban railway used to be installed with ballasted tracks by reason of low cost at the time of construction, slab tracks are now being installed due to the reasons of the improvement in safety, lengthening service life and more economical method in terms of maintenance. The length rate of slab tracks has exceeded 70% of the domestic urban railways with the methods ranging from STEDEF, LVT, ALT, Eidan-type, B2S to RHEDA. This study surveyed the share of domestic slab tracks, and compared and evaluated the input cost at the initial stage by the types of slab tracks. Construction processes have been standardized by the existing design documents and calculated the initial input cost for the length of 1km of a hypothetical straight line. Cost breakdown structure was evaluated as materials cost, construction cost, equipment cost, indirect cost, etc. It is expected that this study will be used in selection & evaluation which is considering the economic feasibility of slab tracks.

  • Recently, the number of passengers using urban railway has been increased by reasons of the reductions of car use due to high fuel prices and the enlightenment about the environment. Above all, the noise and the vibration coming from the friction between the wheel and the rail of trains in operation which is not only a factor that hinders riding comforts but causes civil complaints. Furthermore, the noise has become social issues from tightening the relevant regulations by the government since January 2010. Although ballasted tracks were constructed on urban railways at the time of opening, they have been changed into slab tracks because slab tracks require much less maintenance. However, in view of sound absorptivity of track, slab tracks have 10 times less capability than ballasted tracks(ballasted track : 0.5~0.6/slab tracks : 0.06) results more noise than that of ballasted tracks as much as 3dB(A) since slab tracks emit more reflection noise. Therefore, in order to minimize reflection noise on slab tracks, noise abatement system has been developed as a national R&D program to apply on-site test. It is assumed that the construction technology developed in this study can be used not only as basic data for the on-site test for the noise reduction in urban railway but as an efficient construction method.

Debonding strain for steel-concrete composite slabs with trapezoidal metal deck

  • Steel-concrete composite slabs represent a very efficient floor solution combining the key performance of two different materials: the steel and the concrete. Composite slab response is governed by the degree of the interaction between these two materials, mainly depending by chemical and mechanical bond. The latter is characterized by a limited degree of confinement if compared with the one of the rebars in reinforced concrete members while the former is remarkably influenced by the type of concrete and the roughness of the profiled surface, frequently lubricated during the cold-forming manufacturing processes. Indeed, owing to the impossibility to guarantee a full interaction between the two materials, a key parameter governing slab design is represented by the horizontal shear-bond strength, which should be always experimentally estimated. According to EC4, the design of the slab bending resistance, is based on the simplified assumption that the decking sheet is totally yielded, i.e., always in plastic range, despite experimental and numerical researches demonstrate that a large part of the steel deck resists in elastic range when longitudinal shear collapse is achieved. In the paper, the limit strain for composite slab, which corresponds to the slip, i.e., the debonding between the two materials, has been appraised by means of a refined numerical method used for the simulation of experimental results obtained on 8 different composite slab types. In total, 71 specimens have been considered, differing for the properties of the materials, cross-section of the trapezoidal profiled metal sheets and specimen lengths.

대심도 복층터널 프리캐스트 중간슬래브의 횡방향 현장이음방식에 대한 실험연구 (The Experimental Study on Transverse Field Joint Method of Precast Road Deck Slab of Double Deck Tunnel in Great Depth)

  • 대심도 복층터널 구조물에서 중간슬래브 구조에 적용되는 형식중 하나인 프리캐스트 구조에서는 차량 진행 방향으로 이음이 발생한다. 따라서, 이 이음부를 일체로 거동하게 하는 것이 중요하다. 이 연구에서 제안하는 대심도 복층터널 중간슬래브는 터널의 공간 활용을 극대화 하기 위하여 프리스트레스를 도입한 보 형식의 구조체로, 'PS 이음방식'과 '볼트체결방식'에 대한 이음방법을 개발하였다. 또한, 두 가지 이음방식을 적용한 중간슬래브의 구조성능을 평가하기 위해서 실물모형 구조실험을 수행하였으며, Contact 모델을 적용한 FEM 해석을 통해서 구조적인 안정성을 검증하였다. 이음방식을 적용한 복층터널 중간슬래브의 정적재하실험 결과 매우 안정적인 거동을 보였으며, 균열 및 처짐에 있어 도로교설계기준(2011)을 만족하여 사용성에도 문제가 없다고 판단되었다. FEM 해석에 따른 중간슬래브의 거동은 실험과 비교하여 강성이 미소하게 크게 나타났으나 전체적인 거동이 거의 유사하게 나타났다. 따라서 이 연구에서 개발한 이음방법을 적용한 중간슬래브를 시공함에 있어 구조적으로 문제가 없을 것으로 판단된다.

콘크리트와 강제데크의 합성 바닥판의 실용적인 진동해석 방법 (A Efficient Vibration Analysis Method for the Cooncrete-Steel Deck Slab)

  • 데크플레이트와 콘크리트가 합성되어 있는 합성 바닥판 구조물은 데크플레이트의 골 방향과 골 직각방향에 대하여 강성이 다르므로 직교이방성판 거동을 보이고 있으며 테크플레이트와 콘크리트의 합성 거동으로 인하여 적층 바닥판 구조물로 평가할 수 있다. 이러한 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 진동에 대한 정확한 사용성 평가를 위해서는 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 정밀 진동해석을 수행하여야 한다. 이를 위해서는 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 강성에 대한 직교이방성 그리고 데크플레이트와 콘크리트의 합성에 대한 정확한 거동 평가가 수반되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 골 직각 방향에 대한 강성을 계산하기 위하여 각각의 토핑 콘크리트 두께와 데크플레이트 두께를 적용하였다. 또한 골 방향에 대한 강성을 계산하기 위하여 콘크리트와 데크플레이트의 단면 강성을 구하여 등가두께를 적용하였다. 그리고 콘크리트와 데크플레이트의 합성거동을 표현하기 위하여 적층판에 대한 등가 강성식을 적용, 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 강성을 나타내었다. 본 논문에서 제안한 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 실용적인 모형화방법을 적용할 경우에 합성데크 바닥판 구조물의 강성에 대한 직교이방성과 콘크리트와 데크플레이트의 합성 거동을 잘 표현할 수 있었다.
