The order to see how the deep cleansing change sebum and moisture condition by skin type, 20 persons with dry skin and oily skin were divided into two groups of scrub group and enzyme group and given the deep cleansing care, totaling 8 time. After 8 times of the deep cleansing care, the scrub group showed a valid change with oily skin while the enzyme group showed a valid change with dry skin. However, both groups did not have change a moisture with any skin types. The outcome from the questionnaire that had been done to find subjective feeling indicated that oil change resulted in a valid feeling whereas change of moisture and sensitivity were barely felt.
Purpose: Skin grafting is one of the most commonly used methods in reconstructive plastic surgery field, but complications such as color change, contracture or hypertrophy are common problems. However, pathophysiology of the color change after skin graft is not yet determined and no animal model is established. Methods: Full thickness skin grafts were performed on the dorsum of C57BL/6 mice. Serial chronological gross inspection for color change and pigmentation were examined. Melanin pigments were traced by Fontana-Masson staining and semi-quantitative analysis was performed. In addition, immunohistochemical staining of S-100, Micropthalmia related Transcription Factor (MITF) and Melan-A antibodies were also performed to observe melanocytes and their changes. Results: After skin graft, color change and pigment spots were observed in the graft. Fontana-Masson staining showed melanin pigments in the epidermal and dermal layers in all mice. Immunohistochemistry staining to S-100, MITF, Melan-A antibodies showed melanocytes at the basal layer of epidermis and dermis. Conclusion: In conclusion, we have established an animal model for skin pigmentation after skin graft. We believe this study may be useful in understanding of the behavior of melanocytes after skin graft.

Many eastern females concern themselves about the condition and the color of their skin. The purpose of the present study is to classify the skin trouble and the change of the facial color due to hormonal cycle in female. We examined the actual cricumstances by questionnaires, and made patch tests of methyl nicotinate, representing rubefacient, to estimate the epidermal penetratin rate, and measured the facial color change during the menstrual cycle period to invest the correlation factors between skin trouble due to cosmetics and facial color change. Fifty-two percent of subjects had skin trouble relating to cosmetics. One second of subjects with skin trouble due to cosmetic complained the change of sysptom by menstrual cycle. The changes of systptom were related on premenstrual period. The skin trouble developed mainly on the first trimester of the pregnancy. In patch test of methyl nicotinate, most cases showed decreased threshold of the reaction on minstruation, and other cases showed increased reactivity of the skin of menstruation. In facial color measurements, it proves in the appearance of red spot, darkness, increasing the value and turning the hue to yellowish, Also it demonstrates that premenstruation hue turn red and value level decrease. During the period, facial color turns pale and hue progress to yellow. This fact coincides with the questionnaire. We have quqntified through questionnaire, which demonstrates it has good correlation with done to the subjects among the internal environment factors hormonal cycle influences the facial color change and the skin trouble due to cosmetics. Through this paper the development of an more fragmented make-up and skin care products is required to increase the interest to females, to make true the creation of beauty.
We measured change of peripheral skin temperature and mean skin temperature when the upper arm and thigh are pressured in order to know the effect of skin pressure applied by clothing on blood circulation. After release from pressure, we observed also recovery condition. At the same time, we examined relation between pressure and a feeling of thightness. Three physiques of healthy females, namely slender, standard and plump, served as subjects. We used continuous restraint method with skin pressure applied by experimental fabric for 10 min. As a result of this experiment, we obtained following findings. 1. The significant difference was marked at the pressure, measuring time and physique with change of skin temperature under upper arm restraint. The peripheral and mean skin temperature decreased with the lapse of restraint time. A remarkable tendency observed according to the increase of restraint pressure. Recovery condition after release from pressure not yet recovered to original state, for all after a lapse of 10 min. 2. The significant difference was marked at the pressure, measuring time and physique with change of skin temperature under thigh restraint, especially different physique was remarkable among them. The peripheral skin temperature decreased or decreased. Recovery condition after release from pressure was the same upper arm. 3. Main factor affecting the evaluation of a feeling of tightness was restraint pressure. The value of pressure sensation made remarkable declined after a lapse of 10 min restraint time. Individual differences, however, were shown in pressure sensation.
In order to evaluate objectively the anxiety level in dental treatment, the author used Biotrainer(BF-120R), one of the skin temperature biofeedback apparatus, to examine 68 dental outpatients on their digital skin temperature change due to routine consecutive dental procedures(oral examination, anesthetic injection, cavity preparation, fissure sealing, polishing). The subjective anxiety level change was also evaluated by visual analog scale. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The skin temperature decreased through consecutive procedures and the temperature in each procedure decreased until 60sec, and then increased on 120sec. 2. The temperature changes in Preparation and Injection were greater than those in other procedures. 3. Generally, male exhibited more change of skin temperature in all procedures than female. 4. Type II, continuously decreasing after procedure, occupied the most in all patients and yhad the lowest beseline temperature. 5. The anxiety level of before-procedure was higher than that of after-procedure and the levels in Injection and Preparation were higher than in other procedures.
We measured change of peripheral skin temperature and mean skin temperature when the upper arm and thigh pressured in order to know the effect of skin pressure applied by clothing on blood circulation. After release from pressure, we observed also recovery condition. At the same time, we examined relation between pressure and a feeling of tightness. Three physiques of healthy females, namely slender, standard and plump, served as subjects. We used intermittent method with skin pressure applied by experimental fabric at l-minute intervals. Besides we made a comparative study with results according to different restraint method (continuous method and intermittent method). As a result of this experiment, we obtained following findings. 1. The significant difference was marked at the pressure, measuring time, physique and measuring region with change of skin temperature under upper arm and thigh restraint by intermittent method. The peripheral skin temperature decreased with the lapse of restraint time. A remarkable tendency observed according to the. increase of restraint pressure. Recovery condition after release from pressure not yet recovered to original state, for all after a lapse of 10 min. The mean skin temperature decreased with the lapse of restraint time in case of upper arm restraint, it was not an obvious tendency except 60mmHg under thigh restraint. 2. Main factor affecting the evaluation of a feeling of tightness was restraint pressure, when the upper arm and thigh restraint by intermittent method. The respondence rate of 'very tight' grew larger according to the increase of restraint pressure. The value of pressure sensation declined after restraint ten times as compared with one time, but there was difference according to restraint pressure. 3. We reexamined change of skin temperature and feeling of tightness by different restraint method(continuous method and intermittent method). The results were as follows. 1) The skin temperature decreased more greatly during skin pressure by continuous method than intermittent method, especially in the peripheral. Without different restraint method, the skin temperature of slender plysique decreased more greatly than that of plump physique. 2) The value of pressure sensation by intermittent method was highly on both sites of upper arm and thigh.
Purpose: During the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) outbreak, mask-wearing is required to protect against and limit the spread of infection, but it can directly affect skin problems. Change in skin condition might be related to mental health. This study explored the association between skin conditions and behavior of skin cares and stress levels during the Covid-19pandemics. Research design, data and methodology: A survey was conducted on 516 adults who were aware of damaged skin due to continuous wearing of masks for a long time during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The study included 164 men and 352 women in the Republic of Korea. Results: Skin conditions and behavior of skin cares associated with stress perceptions. A multiple linear regression model was used adjusting for potential confounder. Conclusion: Since management so far in the COVID-19 Pandemic can cause skin concerns and change the original skin type, it is necessary to redefine and improve the use of skin care, face-washing methods, and functional cosmetics. People with high and low interest in skin type recognition and management were evenly identified, and it was confirmed that stress awareness decreases as awareness of skin care attitude increases.
This study was designed to investigate the effect of aromatherapy on skin xerosis and pruritus in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Twenty one subjects of this study were selected from St. Paul's Hosipital in Seoul. All the subjects were received the mineral oil massage at the arm without fistular three timesper week for 4 weeks. After 2 weeks period of wash-out, the subjects were received the aromatherapy of lavender and tea tree essence oil in the same way. This study was carried out from March 20 to June 13, 1998. Pruritus score, skin pH and stratum corneum hydration were measured before and after each treatment. But, biochemical parameters were measured before the treatment of the mineral oil massage, after the treatment of the mineral oil massage and the aromatherapy. Data of this study were analyzed by paired t-test, repeated measures ANOVA, Bonferroni multiple comparisons and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results were as follows ; 1. Pruritus score was significantly decreased after the aromatherapy, while no significant change after the treatment of the mineral oil massage. Therefore, there was a significant difference in the priritus score between the two treatments. 2. Stratum corneum hydration was significantly increased after the aromatherapy, while no significant change after the treatment of the mineral oil massage. Therefore, there was a significant difference in the stratum corneum hydration between the two treatments. 3. Skin pH was significantly increased after the treatment of the mineral oil massage, while no significant change after the aromatherapy. Therefore, there was no significant difference in the skin pH between the two treatments.4. After the aromatherapy, the serum calcium was significantly increased. Whereas the serum parathyroid hormone intact was significantly decreased compared with the treatment of the mineral oil massage. But the level of the serum Ca and PTH-intact were within the normal range. 5. Stratum corneum hydration was decreased corresponding to the duration of hemodialysis, while pruritus score and skin pH showed no change corresponding to the duration of hemodialysis and the age of the subjects. The correlation of pruritus score on skin pH, stratum corneum hydration and biochemical parameters was not significant. In conclusion, this findings indicate that aromatherapy may be effective in decreasing skin xerosis and pruritus score in uremic pruritus patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.
Recently, according to change of lifestyle and increase of concerning in health, needs of the smart clothing based on the vital sign monitoring have increased. Along with this trend, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has been studied various way as textile electrode, clothing design and so on. Smart clothing for ECG monitoring can become a comfortable system which enables continuous vital sign monitoring in daily use. But, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has a weakness on artifact during motion. One of the motion artifact caused by shifting of the electrode position was affected skin change by motion. The aim of this study was to suggest electrode locations for clothing of ECG monitoring to reduce of motion artifacts. Therefore, change of skin surface during the movement were measured and analyzed in order to find location to minimize motion artifacts in ECG monitoring clothing by 3D motion capture. For the experiment, the subjects consisted of 5 males and 5 females in their 20' with average physique. As a result, the optimal location for ECG monitoring was deducted under the bust line and scapula which have least motion artifact. These locations were abstracted to be least affected by movement in this research.
1. Objectives Yangkyuksanhwa-tang is used mush in pruritus and dermatopathy of Soyangin. It is suggested this prescription is effective on atopy dermatitis. 2. Methods For observation of Yangkyuksanhwa-tang effected to atopic dermatitis, extract of Yangkyuksanhwa-tang has been dispensed to the stratum corneum of epithelium in dermatome of murine after making damage to its defense mechanism against fat and causing atopic dermatitis artificially. After that, the change in outer dermatome and minute mechanism of epidermis, the change of eosinophil, the change in distribution of soybean agglutinin, the change in distribution of fat and ceramide in stratum corneum, the change in inflammation in dermatome, the change of cell accrementition and apoptosis, and the effect on anaphylaxis and Staphylococcus aureus was observed. 3. Results After administration of Yangkyuksanhwa-tang, severe skin damage such as eczema and psoriasis, that was observed in the case of atopy dermatitis, was decreased and the increase of eosinophil in serum was suppressed. Lipid lamella was recovered, so epidermal demage was relieved. The distribution of HSP70 in the outer skin was decreased. Yangkyuksanhwa-tang suppressed activation of $NF-_{\kappa}B$ p50, induced CD11/18b not to be generated, and suppressed inflammatory response of skin. Anaphylaxis and groth of Staphylococcus aureus was suppressed. 4. Conclusions Yangkyuksanhwa-tang decreased skin damage of atopy dermatitis. It has antibiosis about Staphylococcus aureus, it can be medicinal substances on atopy dermatitis. In addition, it is possible that it can be medicinal substances on regional skin allergy.
