  • As the use of MP3 audio compression increased, the demand for the insertion of additive data about copyright or information on music contents has been groved and the related research has been progressed actively. When an additive data is inserted into MP3 bitstream, it should not to happen any distortion of music quality or the change of file size, due to the modification of MP3 bitstream structure. In our study, to make these conditions satisfied, we inserted some additive data to bitstream by modifying some bits of linbits among the quantized integer coefficients having big values. At this time, we consider the characteristics of linbits and their distributions. As a result of subjective sound quality test through MOS test, we confirmed that the quality of MOS 4.6 can be achieved at the data insertion rate of 60 bytes/sec. Using the proposed method, it is possible to effectively insert an additive data such as copyright information or information about media itself, so that various applications like audio database management can be realized.

  • Recently, small radar has been reduced in size and power consumption to cope with various operating environments. It also requires the development of a small millimeter wave radar with high range resolution to disable the system of target with a single strike. In this paper, we design and implement a signal processor that can be used in small millimeter wave radar. The signal processor for the small millmeter wave radar is designed with a digital IF(Intermediate Frequency) receiver and DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) module capable of real time FFT operation for miniaturization and low power consumption. Also it was to leverage the FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) and DAC(Digital Analog Converter) as a means for correcting the distortion of signals that can occur in the receive path of the small millimeter wave radar to create a RF signal that is used by the system. Finally, we verified the signal processor presented through performance test

  • In this paper, the linearity of Doherty power amplifier has been improved by applying a new Photonic Bandgap(PBG) structure on the output of amplifier. The reposed spiral PBG structure is a two-dimensional(2-D) periodic lattice patterned on a dielectric slab that does not require nonplanar fabrication process. This structure has more broad stopband and high suppression performance than the conventional three cell PBG. Also, It has a sharp skirt property. We obtained the 3rd-order intermodulation distortion(IMD3) of -33dBc for CDMA applications with that of maintaining the constant power added efficiency(PAE), the IMD3 performance is improved as much as -8 dB compared with a Doherty power amplifier without PBG structure. Moreover, the physical length of PBG is shortened, therefore the whole amplifier circuit size is considerably reduced.

  • This study investigated body type among women in their 20s and the development of prototypes for tailored jackets by body type in order to design clothes in consideration of an imbalance in body type caused by the popularity of portable devices such as smartphones and Netbooks. This study aims to create a design of jacket patterns by body type through both actual and virtual wear testing among women in their 20s, who are the major consumer of ready-made clothes and are very sensitive to size fit. This study will provide pattern information for the manufacture of jackets with a goal of securing the latest scientific body type information and establish the grounds for a research method in the manufacture of clothes. According to actual and virtual wear tests of four different body types, a significant difference was found in armhole circumference in most types because it was scanned with the arms slightly apart to prevent the armhole area from being missed during the 3D scanning. This has resulted in a slight distortion in measurements. To correct this problem, it is necessary to verify the precision of the body scanner and its program. In categories in which a large significant difference was found, it is necessary to test them against many subjects. In addition, it would be required to perform a further study on the 3D virtual wear system, which could be useful in the clothing industry.

  • Reversible data hiding, which can recover the original image without any distortion after the extraction of the hidden data, has drawn considerable attention in recent years. However, underflow and overflow problems have occurred occasionally in the embedded image. To overcome these problems, we propose a new reversible data hiding algorithm which embeds a compressed location map used to identify these underflow and overflow points. In addition, the proposed algorithm allows for multilevel data hiding to increase the hiding capacity. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm generates good performances in the PSNR, the embedding capacity, and the size of side information.

  • The facial asymmetries include maxillary, mandibular, and chin asymmetries, although the most common deformity is primarily in the mandible. Common causes of this type of asymmetry can include asymmetric growth of the condyle or the mandible. In these patients, the location of the Me would be deviated to the shorter side because of the asymmetric growth of the mandible, and, commonly, the maxillary occlusal plane would be tilted toward the deviated side because the maxilla likely grows asymmetrically according to the pattern of asymmetric mandibular growth. Three-dimensional CT images are ideal for evaluating the size and location of anatomic structures, and such reconstructed images allow the use of software that can show anatomic structures from numerous angles, allowing actual measurements of distances and angles without problems of magnification, distortion, or superimposition caused by 2-dimensional imaging. In the present study using 3D-CT imaging, the 8 parameters, including measurements of the upper midline deviation, maxillary canting in the canine and first molar regions, width of the upper arch, width of the mandible at the Go, vertical length of the ramus, inclination of the ramus, and deviation of the Me were easily measured. The dentition should be orthodontically decompensated and dental midline should ensure incisor midlines positioned in the midline of each jaw before surgical correction. Surgical correction could be considered such as canting or yawing correction in the frontal or horizontal aspect, respectively.

  • Container vessels continue to grow in size, led by global shipowner. Large ships can be loaded more cargo at a time, reducing the cost of transportation per teu. this eventually leads to economies of sale, in which the production cost per unit decreases with increasing output. in accordance with the 70th Convention of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization, as of January 1, 2020, MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 14.1.3 will be effective. All vessels must be meet these criteria to reduce Sox emissions and reduce NOx emissions by reducing the content of manned sulfur oxides from 3.5% to less than 0.5%, otherwise IACS Member States Entry to the port is denied. in order to do that need to LNG storage tank. in this study characteristic of the material after line heating (600℃,700℃,800℃,900℃) of 9% Ni steel used in the manufacture of LNG fuel tank of ship were verified using by mechanical test. In the heating method by line heating. The initial properties of steel are changed by variables such as temperature, time, speed. The experimental data of line heating presented in this paper confirmed that the initial change of 9% Ni steel could be minimized.

  • Thermal transport in nanomaterials is not only scientifically interesting but also technological important for various future electronic, bio, and energy device applications. Among the various computation approaches to investigate lattice thermal transport phenomena in nanoscale, the atomistic nonequilibrium Green's function approach based on first-principles density functional theory calculations appeared as a promising method given the continued miniaturization of devices and the difficulty of developing classical force constants for novel nanoscale interfaces. Among the nanometerials, carbon atomic chains, namely the cumulene (all-doulble bonds, ${\cdots}C=C=C=C{\cdots}$) and polyyne (alternation of single and triple bonds, ${\cdots}C{\equiv}C-C{\equiv}C{\cdots}$) can be considered as the extream cases of interconnction materials for nanodevices. After the discovery and realization of carbon atomic chains, their electronic transport properties have been widely studied. For the thermal transport properties, however, there have been few literatures for this simple linear chain system. In this work, we first report on the development of a non-equilibrium Green's function theory-based computational tool for atomistic thermal transport calculations of nanojunctions. Using the developed tool, we investigated phonon dispersion and transmission properties of polyethylene (${\cdots}CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2{\cdots}$) and polyene (${\cdots}CH-CH-CH-CH{\cdots}$) structures as well as the cumulene and polyyne. The resulting phonon dispersion from polyethylene and polyene showed agreement with previous results. Compared to the cumulene, the gap was found near the ${\Gamma}$ point of the phonon dispersion of polyyne as the prediction of Peierls distortion, and this feature was reflected in the phonon transmission of polyyne. We also investigated the range of interatomic force interactions with increase in the size of the simulation system to check the convergence criteria. Compared to polyethylene and polyene, polyyne and cumulene showed spatially long-ranged force interactions. This is reflected on the differences in phonon transport caused by the delicate differences in electronic structure.

  • Hydrogen is in the world limelight for future energy source, and it has been already used in various industry fields including aerospace. The extremely fine molecule of the hydrogen can be easily leaked from tiny size of the crack on the surface of transporting pipes or storage tanks, and it could bring on awfully terrible disaster. In this study, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) was employed to develope a reliable detection scheme for a small quantity of hydrogen leakage. Effect of three different metal substrates (i.e. Al, Cu, SUS) on plasma generation and the intensity of the hydrogen atomic signal was investigated, and the surface damage of the substrates due to repetitive laser shots was observed using Scanning electron microscope. It was also evaluated how the surface damage could distort the atomic signal. The intensity of the atomic signal was found to be the strongest, and the signal distortion due to the surface damage was approximately $100W/m^2$ lower when Al was used for the substrate.

  • For the improvement of coding efficiency, the H.264/AYC standard uses new coding tools such as 1/4-pel-accurate motion estimation, multiple references, intra prediction, loop filter, variable block size etc. Using these coding tools, H.264/AYC has achieved significant improvements from rate-distortion point of view compared to existing standards. However, the encoder complexity was greatly increased due to these coding tools. We focus on the complexity reduction method of intra macroblock mode selection. The proposed algorithm for fast intra mode selection calculates the edge activity in transform domain, and performs fast encoding of intra frame in H.264/AYC through the fast prediction mode selection of intra4x4 and chrominance blocks. Simulation results show that the proposed method saves about 59.76% for QCIF sequences and 65.03% for CIF sequences of total encoding time, while bitrate increase and PSNR decrease are very small.
