자동차 엔진오일 열화상태 in situ 측정용 전기용량 센서 (Capacitive Sensor for in situ Measurement of Deterioration of Car Engine Oil)

  • 자동차 엔진오일의 열화상태를 직접 in situ로 측정할 수 있는 코일형 전기용량 센서를 개발하였다. 엔진 오일팬의 드레인 홀의 제한된 공간 속에서 10 pF 이상을 얻기 위하여 코일형으로 설계 제작되었다. 코일의 직경 및 권선 조건, 포머의 재질 및 구조, 차폐조건 등 안정된 전기용량 측정을 위한 설계 요구 조건을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실험적인 방법에 의해서 찾아내었다. 제작된 여러 개의 센서를 이용하여 동일한 조건의 사용오일 특성을 분석한 결과 0.25% 이내에서 일치하였다. 차량에 직접 장착하여 장기간 측정한 결과, 심한 진동과 온도 및 습도변화와 전자기적 잡음 등 열악한 차량의 조건에서도 매우 우수한 측정결과를 나타내었다.

HATS를 이용한 헤드폰의 in situ 측정방법에 관하여 (On the in situ Measurement Method of Headphones using Head And Torso Simulator)

  • 헤드폰을 사용하여 청각실험을 하는 경우에 합리적인 헤드폰 측정방법이 확립되지 않아 그 측정방법에 따라 다른 결과를 초래하는 문제점이 있기 때문에, 헤드폰의 주파수 특성에 관한 표준 측정방법이 요구된다. 본고에서는 이러한 중요성에 입각하여 종래의 의사귀를 이용한 측정방법과 최근 새롭게 제안되고 있는 HATS를 이용한 측정방법을 사용하여, 사람에 있어서 자연적인 청취상태에 입각한 헤드폰 측정방법에 대해 고차하고, 종래의 측정방법과 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과 사람의 귀의 음향 임피던스와 머리의 회절요과를 정확히 모사하지 못한 의사귀 측정방법에 비해, 이 문제점을 해결한 HATS를 이용한 측정방법에서 사람에 있어 보다 자연적인 청취상태에 입각한 주파수 특성을 측정할 수 있었다.

Database of virtual spectrum of artificial radionuclides for education and training in in-situ gamma spectrometry

  • As the field of application of in-situ gamma spectroscopy is diversified, proficiency is required for consistent and accurate analysis. In this study, a program was developed to virtually create gamma energy spectra of artificial nuclides, which are difficult to obtain through actual measurements, for training. The virtual spectrum was created by synthesizing the spectra of the background radiation obtained through actual measurement and the theoretical spectra of the artificial radionuclides obtained by a Monte Carlo simulation. Since the theoretical spectrum can only be obtained for a given geometrical structure, representative major geometries for in-situ measurement (ground surface, concrete wall, radioactive waste drum) and the detectors (HPGe, NaI(Tl), LaBr3(Ce)) were predetermined. Generated virtual spectra were verified in terms of validity and harmonization by gamma spectrometry and energy calibration. As a result, it was confirmed that the energy calibration results including the peaks of the measured spectrum and the peaks of the theoretical spectrum showed differences of less than 1 keV from the actual energies, and that the calculated radioactivity showed a difference within 20% from the actual inputted radioactivity. The verified data were assembled into a database and a program that can generate a virtual spectrum of desired condition was developed.

보급형 He-Ne 타원해석기의 제작과 $TiO_2$ 박막 유효밀도 변화의 in-situ 측정 (Fabrication of He-Ne ellipsometer and in-situ measurement of effective density variation of $TiO_2$thin films)

  • We have fabricated an in situ ellipsometer operating at He-Ne wavelength. It can be applied to the real-time, in-situ tracking of the ellisometric change which occurs during various sample treatments. As a rotating analyzer type, all optical elements and related parts are designed to share a common hollow-axis configuration, and hence the ellipsometer is compact in shape and simple in design. It is mountable on the spare ports of vacuum chamber with ease. Using this ellipsometer, we observed the effective density variation of previously grown $TiO_2$ thin films by using electron beam evaporation. The packing density of the as-grown film was 82%. When exposed to atomsphere, the micro-void of the film was filled with water vapor. This water-filled $TiO_2$ thin film was subject to heating/cooling cycles in vacuum and the ellipsometric variation versus temperature and cycling number was measured in real time using this in situ He-Ne ellipsometer.

  • Manufacturing bulk nanostructured materials with least grain growth from initial powders is challenging because of the bottle neck of bottom-up methods using the conventional powder metallurgy via compaction and sintering. In the study, densification behavior of nano Cu powders during pressureless sintering was investigated using an in-situ optical dilatometer technique. The initial heating and steady temperature stages during the sintering of nano Cu powder compacts were observed. At the initial heating stage, the powder compact has many porosities and full densification needs high temperature and/or high pressure sintering. In the experimental analysis, changes in geometry and density were measured and discussed for optimal consolidation and densification by the in-situ optical dilatometer.

  • This paper presents a proof-of-concept study on the evaluation of torsional vibration isolation performance through in-situ output torque measurement by using a non-contacting magneto-elastic torque transducer installed in the vehicle driveline system. The de-trending processing is first conducted to extract the torsional vibration from the measured driveline output torque. In order to estimate the transmissibility, primary performance indicator of a vibration isolator, the magnitude of transmitted torsional vibration with different frequencies is compared. From the conservative estimation results, the torsional damper built in a lock-up clutch of a torque converter is identified to be a vibration isolator. The evaluation results show that the fluid damping by torque converter outperforms the vibration isolation function of a torsional damper, and the isolation performance needs to be enhanced.

이산 칼만 필터를 이용한 구동 출력 토크 추정 (Driveline Output Torque Estimation Using Discrete Kalman Filter)

  • This paper presents a study on the driveline output torque estimation using a discrete Kalman filter. The in-situ output shaft torque is first measured by a non-contacting magneto-elastic torque transducer. The linear state-space system equations are first derived and the discrete Kalman filter is designed based on the Kalman filter theory to recover the driveline output torque contaminated by random noises. In addition to using torque measurement, the estimation of the output torque using two angular velocities: the output and wheel, is also conducted. The experimental results show that the discrete Kalman filter can be effective for not only removing the random noise in output torque but also estimating the output torque without torque measurement.

차량 출력 토크 측정 시스템의 시스템 식별 (System Identification of In-situ Vehicle Output Torque Measurement System)

  • This paper presents a study on the system identification of the in-situ output shaft torque measurement system using a non-contacting magneto-elastic torque transducer installed in a vehicle drivline. The frequency response (transfer) function (FRF) analysis is conducted to interpret the dynamic interaction between the output shaft torque and road side excitation due to the road roughness. In order to identify the frequency response function of vehicle driveline system, two power spectral density (PSD) functions of two random signals: the road roughness profile synthesized from the road roughness index equation and the stationary noise torque extracted from the original torque signal, are first estimated. System identification results show that the output torque signal can be affected by the dynamic characteristics of vehicle driveline systems, as well as the road roughness.

하천 합류부에서의 부유입자 분포에 대한 현장측정 (Field Measurement of Suspended Material Distribution at the River Confluence)

  • 하천 합류부에서는 지형적 특성에 기인하는 고유한 수체혼합양상과 흐름특성을 보인다. 이러한 합류부에서의 2차원적 수체혼합양상을 파악하기 위해서는 측선기반이 아닌 평면적 계측이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강-금호강 합류부를 대상으로 UAV를 활용한 정성적 수체혼합모니터링과 ADCP, 다항목수질측정기, 현장용광학입도분석기(LISST : Laser In-Situ Scattering & Transmissometry)를 이용한 흐름, 수질, 부유입자특성에 대한 측정을 통해 하천합류부에서의 2차원적 수체흐름 및 물질혼합 특성을 파악할 수 있는 현장측정기법을 제시하고 적용성을 검토하고자 하였다. 수리량, 수질인자, 부유입자의 농도 및 입도분포에 대한 현장측정을 통해 복잡한 지형적 특성을 가지는 하천합류부에서의 2차원적 흐름양상과 그에 따른 수체 및 물질혼합양상을 파악할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
