The Site Plan and the Design of Daeungjeon(Main Buddhist Hall) of Songgwangsa Temple Seen by Yi Ok, in the Late Joseon Period (이옥이 본 조선 후기 완주 송광사의 가람배치와 대웅전의 구조)

  • While going into troops for writing in the vignette style(小品文) in opposition to the Classical Chinese(古文), Yi Ok stopped by Songgwangsa Temple in Wanju. The things he felt during this stop were recorded in the Temple Chapter("寺觀") written in 1795. Therefore, the present dissertation evaluates the Songgwangsa Temple of the time based on this Temple Chapter. Data in the Temple Chapter draws attention to the fact that it records the layout of the temple in detail. Thus the study was able to confirm the change in layout by reviewing relevant records about repair. This reveals that the form of layout in general has been maintained although there were changes involving the relocation of the buildings and their names. Furthermore, the original Buddhist building was changed to a quarter for the monks. Also, in terms of layout after the 18th century, there are frequent name changes of the Myeongbujeon(冥府殿) and Nahanjeon(羅漢殿). After two repairs, in order to find the appearance of a Daeungjeon(Main Buddhist hall) with a two-storied structure of five bays at the front, the study evaluated the Geugnakjeon at Muryangsa Temple and the Daeungbojeon at Magoksa Temple. The evaluation revealed that the 'Jeol' used in the Temple Chapter were small pillars erected on a ridgepole just like the Geugnakjeon at Muryangsa Temple, and that the angle rafters were installed to corner bays in rectangular form. The intellectual Yi Ok left behind invaluable architectural data that reveals the Songgwangsa Temple of the 18th century.

A Study on the Facility Layout and Signal-fire Stand of Border Signal-fire in Chosun Dynasty (조선시대 연변봉수(沿邊烽燧)의 배치형식 및 연대(煙臺)에 관한 연구)

  • Signal fire was a communication system which deliver urgent news by smoke and light. It informed the condition of the border to the central government and the military base rapidly. This research was to analyze the border signal-fire which is the main facility of military protective duty for safety of sea side in chosun dynasty. The results of this research were described separately as follows. 1. The border signal-fire has three types of facility layout, The majority was one-site, near two-site, separate type. The majority was near two-site type. 2. Plan configuration of signal-fire stand which is separated with circle, oval, round-rectangular and rectangular type roughly was constructed with circle type generally. Four types of signal-fire stand was observed in southern and western sea side impartially. However, in eastern side, circle type of signal-fire stand was mainly found. Therefore, regional characteristics could be considered partially. 3. The height of signal-fire stand was about 8~10m. The diameter of combustion chamber on the signal-fire stand was 2~3m in circle type, and the dimension of rectangular type was about $1.9{\times}1.9{\sim}3.2{\times}3.0m$. 4. Building base that protect ground moisture and infilteration of rainfall was found in 10 border singal-fire, the height of it was about 0.3m~2.5m.

Site Layout of ChungChong-Do Chonui-hyon Government Office in the Late Chosen Dynasty (조선후기(朝鮮後期) 충청도(忠淸道) 전의현(全義縣) 관아건축(官衙建築)의 배치구성(配置構成)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • This study is to analyze site layout traditional government office building focused on Chonui-hyon(全義縣) in Chungchong province with Chungchong-do regional maps(忠淸道地方地圖) and Eupjis(邑誌, topography) being compiled in the late Chosun dynasty. The conclusion of analysis can be summarized as follows; 1. Chonui-hyon(全義縣) in Chosun dynasty is gone with a planning principle of the capital city(Han-Seong, 漢城) with disposing Sa-Ji-Dan(社稷壇) and Gaek-Sa(客舍), which are placed to the left and right of Eupchi(邑治), and it is followed in the wake of the spatial structure of Chosun dynasty palace with disposing Dong-Heon(東軒) in front, Nae-A(內衙) at the back of it, or from side to side, also by the Dong-Heon of the center, with organizing each facility around it. 2. Dong-Heon and Gaek-Sa of Chonui-hyon is passed through three step gate, Mun-Ru(門樓), Woi-Sammun(外三門), Nae-Sammun(內三門), from Hong-Salmon(紅門), and are shown hierarchy by haying been placed at the end of approach axis. 3. Dong-Heon can be disposed by Feng-Shui(風水) which have influence on the southeast direction with Jin-San(鎭山) and An-Dae(案對), on the other hand, Gaek-Sa can be disposed by symbolic of the authority of a king. 4. Site layout by function of provincial government office is provided into four ferrite, Dong-Heon, Gaek-Sa, Nae-A, practical business territory, and eve territory is organized by official institution on a social position to radiation, by the compositive axis to be made Woi-Sammun Nae-Sammun Dong-Heon Nae-A 5. Approach process of Chnui-hyon government office is three door system similar to Kam-Young(監營) in a different way two door system in most provincial government office, also approach axis is formed by bending.

  • The layout of haul routes within a construction site of large complex projects needs to be carefully determined as the productivity of earthwork activity heavily depends on the efficiency of the layout and the routes are not likely to change once they are settled. This paper aims to provide a construction planner with a reliable framework to create an efficient layout of haul routes within a large complex construction site. To construct the framework, five factors affecting haul route layout and the productivity of earthwork activity are described along with the associated rules of thumb recommended by design and field experts. In addition, a methodology based on spatial analysis using raster format in GIS is proposed to further increase haul route efficiency. The proposed planning framework enables a construction planner to easily find a more reliable route layout by thoroughly considering the key factors prior to setting up an earthmoving plan.

  • The research which it led and it tried to observe the layout of Hwa-Um buddhist architecture by Avatamska sutra. The avatamska sutra is one of the scriptures which are important from Buddhism and Hwa-Um buddhist architecture is same channel. Sip-ji-pum that it includes the contents of avatamska sutra is most important. Hwa-um buddhist architecture can divide the major space into a three precinct. First, the gate to a Buddhist temple(A step of self interest. Second, Ru and a building for Buddhist priest(A step of Altruistic act). Third, A Buddhist sancturary(A step of Religious ascetic). From the above results, we can know that site layout of Hwa-um buddhist architecture in the Hwa-um sect relations to the dogmatic background, thought.

  • An operation planning of lift car is crucial in tall building construction especially it's arrangement plans, because it is related with transportation distance of finishing materials affecting construction productivity. Since tall building construction, composed of complicating and huge plane have complex traffic lines of finishing materials, to determine the position of lift car empirically or intuitively has limits. Therefore this paper suggest an optimum layout model of lift car minimizing the transportation distance both at site-level and floor-level using Graph theory and Dijkstra algorithm.

  • In this paper, it was tried to prove the possibility and effect of coordinate measurement by using MEP layout equipment at the construction stage, and to propose a method to improve measurement accuracy during construction. For this study, the passenger terminal site, which is a long span structure, was selected and compared with three dimensional CAD drawings and construction measurement results using MEP layout equipment for the precise construction of long-span irregular curved roof layers. As a result, it was found that it is possible to construct three-dimensional curved roof layers using MEP layout equipment through measurement and analysis.

  • Although there is an increase in demand for free-form buildings, there are several problems such as increased cost and duration and decreased constructability arising from difficult member production and installation. To solve these problems, a technology to produce free-form panels using CNC machine was developed. According to the technology, the information on free-form buildings designed is delivered to the CNC machine, a form is shaped using the delivered information and free-form concrete panels are produced using the form. The limited construction site, duration and project cost as well as interferences with other work types should be considered upon in-situ production of free-form concrete panels. Thus, the purpose of this study is to conduct a base study on in-situ production layout of free-form concrete panels by system dynamics. With this study, we will discover the causal relationship of influence factors on in-situ production of free-form concrete panels, and improved productivity is expected through the production layout.

  • The demand on free-form buildings is gradually increasing, but there are several problems such as increased cost and construction duration, and decreased constructability at the construction phase upon construction of a building owing to the difficulty of member production-installation. To solve these problems, a technology to produce FCP using a CNC machine was developed. Basically, it delivers the information on a free-form building designed to the CNC machine, the shapes of RTM and PCM are created using the information delivered and FCP are produced with the RTM and PCM which act as forms. Since the construction duration and project cost are limited on site, the efficiency of FCP production-installation is significant for application of the technology. For it is almost impossible to change the production-installation layout and process once they are set in the construction phase, they should be carefully determined. Before the production-installation layout are established, it is necessary to analyze the factors that influence the duration. Thus, the study intends to analyze influence factors in PCM mold on estimation of the production-installation duration for FCP. According to the analysis of influence factors, a simulation model for estimation of the duration that changes depending on the constraint conditions can be built.
