In this paper, two 4$\times$4 rectangular patch array antennas operating at 20 GHz are implemented for the satellite communication. The sixteen patch antennas and microstrip feeding line are printed on a single-layered substrate. The design goal is to achieve high directivity and gain by optimizing design parameters through permutations in element spacing. The spacing between the array elements is chosen to be 0.736$\lambda$. Numerical simulation results indicate that the HPBW(Half-Power Beam Width) of the 4$\times$4 patch array antenna is 18.78 degrees in the E-plane and 18.48 degrees in the H-plane with a gain of 17.18 dBi. Numerical simulations of a 4$\times$4 recessed patch array antenna yield a HPBW of 18.71 degrees in the E-plane and 17.82 degrees in the H-plane with a gain of 19.43 dBi.

An investigation into power conditioners that interface with photovoltaic array and utilities has been completed. The rating for this investigation is residential system(3-5kW) that interface with a 220V single phase utility connection. As the result of this investigation, a 3kW high frequency PWM IGBT inverter feeding a high frequency isolation transformer with a sinusoidal current wave was selected. The output of the transformer rectified with a diode bridge rectifier four IGBT, used as 60Hz switched, reverse the polarity of the rectified current on every other half cycle of the utility voltage. Even though the high frequency link system used more power semiconductors a net size, weight, and parts cost saying result compared to the other systems due to elimination of 60Hz transformer.

Anoplocnemis dallasi Kiritchencho is a sap-sucker which feeds on tips of amorpha fruticosa Linne in Korea. A. Dallasi had one generation a year and overwintered as the young adult stage. Most overwintered survivors emerged in early-mid May to late May. Known host plants were reviewed, and new host records were added. Females mainly laid eggs in linear single chain masses on leaves of Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens. Nymphs (except the non-feeding first instars) fed on young shoots. First instar nymphs clustered on leaves or shoots where they hatched, and, if disturbed, reformed aggregations soon. The second to the fifth instar nymphs migrate to the upper part of the shoot and congreagate on a partly expanded leaf. New adults firstly appeared in late August, remained on A.fruticosa, host plant, and fed on until mid October. The duration and survivorship curve, in laboratory rearing, of the egg and each nymphal stadium was determined.

PWM controlled line-side converters of modern ac traction locomotives inject harmonic currents into the feeding overhead line. This causes problem of electromagnetic interference. Passive and Active filters are usually provided for a reduction of the line harmonics. Active filters are more reasonable than passive filters in terms of weight and space of the filters. Successful control of active filters requires an accurate harmonic current reference. A technique to generate the harmonic current reference is proposed in this paper. The analysis is performed in frequency domain and its effectiveness is verified by simulation.

In this paper, fuel cell power generation system that is being studied in recent railway field was applied to compensate for the voltage drop due to the load as driving electric vehicle. PSIM simulation program is to be used to implement the modeling of the electric railway for AC AT feeder system. For it, It was applied to the product-type single-phase PLL algorithm, step-down converter is controlled as power so as to have the fuelcell generation system. Based on it's result, a reactive power due to the catenary impedance in accordance with the current flowing is compensated as linked with fuelcell generation system which supplied the current to the power supply grid. and then its performance was confirmed that voltage compensation effect obtained at SubStation (SS), SubSectioning Post (SSP), Sectioning Post (SP).

The KSR-III developed by KARI is the first rocket vehicle which is adopting the liquid propellant rocket engine system in Korea and its flight test was successfully done last year. KSR-III is a sounding rocket class launch vehicle, but there is a sense to accomplish design, manufacture, performance test and finally its flight test by domestic technology. In this paper, the authors are intended to introduce the multi-purpose test facility(PTA-II Test Facility) which is constructed for the variety of tests on KSR-III feeding system(single component tests, verification tests, cold flow tests and combustion tests) and its test results.

The high speed line and conventional line are a single-phase AC feeding system; and power supplies of different phases meet at SS(SubStation)s or SP(Sectioning Post)s. These sections should be negotiated with the main circuit breaker in the traction vehicle switched off, whereby the length of the neutral zone prevents the pantographs shunting adjacent overhead line section. In order for electric railway vehicles to make power running there, there must be a power supply changeover section (approx. for 1km), where a changeover switch changes a power supply to the other power supply of a train running direction sequentially. For a thorough changeover switching control, the precise train position detection is necessarily required. In this paper, to realize the ground-based train position detection method, configuration scheme of train position detection equipment is suggested by using track circuit and axle counter.

Biotransformation of progesterone to 11 $\alpha$ -hydroxyprogesterone by growing cells of Rhizopus nigricans was investigated. As the concentration of progesterone increased, the specific growth rate of R. nigricans decreased linearly, and consequently the conversion yield lowered. The hyphae of the microorganism were observed to become thicker, shorter, and more densely branched at high concentrations of progesterone. In order to improve the process productivity, biotransformation was conducted with continuous addition of progesterone. When the substrate was added continuously at a rate of 0.86 g/hr for 30 hrs, overall conversion yield reached upto 56% while a single addition of the same amount of progesterone yielded about 40% eonversion. When additional feeding of glucose was carried out upon its depletion, an improved br'oconversion yield upto 68% was obtained.

In the course of our studies for new anticancer medicinal plants, we evaluated the effects of an alcohol-water (1:1, V/V) extract of Dendrostellera lesserii (Thymelaeaceae) leaves on the growth rates of breast tumors of rats. The breast tumors were induced in a group of rats by Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) injection. Our data showed that daily oral feeding of the crude extract to the rats, for 20 consecutive weeks, significantly repressed the growth rates of the breast tumors. In addition, the probable effect of D. lessertii crude extract or one of its purified active components on metastasis was evaluated using wehi-164 cells. Treatment of the cells with a single nontoxic dose of the purified active component for 48 hours inhibited the adhesion of the cells to the immobilized fibronectin molecules by almost 80% compared to the untreated control cells.
