  • The materials for transmission line construction were transported by road which opened in mountainous areas until the mid 1990s, However, from the mid 1990s, as social interest in the environment standard increases, a cable way and helicopter transport methods of construction have been applied to minimize damage to the environment and to build an environmental friendly system. The current cable way method is a single cable way system which has a lower section base to load materials into a carriage and carry them to the tower construction site by use of an engine and a main rope. Then the carriage lowers itself via a slope between the tower construction site and the lower section base. The single cable way system has the demerits of site acquisition for the lower section base, forest felling when installing the wire rope, and it is not applicable to a even topology Also it has to be installed separately at each tower site. Accordingly, to carry materials without forest felling and regardless of slope, the chain cable way system was developed to provide materials for more than two towers consecutively by use of an engine carriage and winch.

  • Due to the increasing interest in SNPs and mutational hot spots for disease traits, it is becoming more important to define and understand the relationship between SNPs and their flanking sequences. To study the effects of flanking sequences on SNPs, statistical approaches are necessary to assess bias in SNP data. In this study we mainly applied Markov chains for SNP sequences, particularly those located in intronic regions, and for analysis of in-del data. All of the pertaining sequences showed a significant tendency to generate particular SNP types. Most sequences flanking SNPs had lower complexities than average sequences, and some of them were associated with microsatellites. Moreover, many Alu repeats were found in the flanking sequences. We observed an elevated frequency of single-base-pair repeat-like sequences, mirror repeats, and palindromes in the SNP flanking sequence data. Alu repeats are hypothesized to be associated with C-to-T transition mutations or A-to-I RNA editing. In particular, the in-del data revealed an association between particular changes such as palindromes or mirror repeats. Results indicate that the mechanism of induction of in-del transitions is probably very different from that which is responsible for other SNPs. From a statistical perspective, frequent DNA lesions in some regions probably have effects on the occurrence of SNPs.

  • The system under study is a single item, multi-echelon distribution system with a capacitated production facility. All the nodes at the downstream ends are demand-sites, i.e., ordered items are delivered to the customers from the node. Also any transshipment depots in the midstream can be demand-sites as well. For a given planning period, at each of demand-site, demand is forecasted and known. Our objective is to minimize the average system cost per period which is the sum of holding and backorder costs in the entire network. Due to the capacity restrictions, it is difficult to establish efficient distribution planning. To overcome such a difficulty and obtain a reasonable and better solution, we convert this problem into a single machine earliness and weighted tardiness scheduling. We propose a simple but cost-effective heuristic for this problem. The experimental results showed that the proposed heuristic obtained much better solutions compared with another approach.

  • Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis was used to determine the genetic relationships among seventeen species of the Acanthopanax species. The DNA isolated from the leaves of the samples was used as template in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with twenty random decamer primers in order to distinguish plant subspecies at the level of their genomes. The RAPD patterns were compared by calculating pairwise distances using Dice similarity index, and produced to the genetic similarity dendrogram by unweighted pair-group method arithmetic averaged (UPGMA) analysis, showing three groups; a major cluster(twelve species), minor cluster (4 species) and single-clustering species. The results of RAPD were compatible with the morphological classification, as well as the chemotaxonomic classification of the Acanthopanax species. The Acanthopanax species containing 3,4-seco-lupane type triterpene compounds in their leaves corresponded to the major cluster, another species having oleanane or normal lupane type constituents to minor clusters, and one species not containing triterpenoidal compound to single-cluster.

  • Here I describe a multiplex allele specific PCR-based approach for the rapid detection between Hanwoo and Holstein meat associated with Melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) gene. Specific and universal oligonucleotide primers were used in combination to detect the presence of a single nucleotide polymorphism within the bovine MC1R DNA sequence. The presence of the bovine MC1R gene is indicated by the production of a single control PCR product, whilst positive samples generate an alternative smaller specific product over the same region. The mutations in MC1R104 codon revealed depending on the presence or absence of an indicative fragment amplified from the wild-type allele of this codon. As little as 0.39 ng and 1.56 ng of genomic DNA of Hanwoo and Holstein could be detected by MAS-PCR assay, respectively. This technique, which is widely used in human genetic screening, provides a reliable and sensitive result that has not been documented for the identification of bovine coat color. The MAS-PCR assay approach was proven to be useful in complementing routine beef DNA analysis for differentiation of these MC1R variants and it would facilitate the screening of deceiving sales of Holstein meat in the butcher shop.

  • The optimal design of batch-storage network by using periodic square wave model provides analytical lot sizing equations for a complex supply chain network characterized as multi-supplier, multi-product, multi-stage, non-serial, multi-customer, cyclic system including recycling and/or remanufacturing. The network structure includes multiple currency flows as well as material flows. The processes are represented by multiple feedstock/product materials with fixed composition which are very suitable for production processes. In this study, transportation processes that carry multiple materials with unknown composition are added and the time frame is changed from single period into multiple periods in order to represent nonperiodic parameter variations. The objective function of the optimization involves minimizing the opportunity costs of annualized capital investments and currency/material inventories minus the benefit to stockholders in the numeraire currency. The expressions for the Kuhn-Tucker conditions of the optimization problem are reduced to a multiperiod subproblem for average flow rates and analytical lot-sizing equations. The multiperiod lot sizing equations are different from single period ones. The effects of corporate income taxes, interest rates and exchange rates are incorporated.

  • Resveratrol was incorporated into various combinations of single- and double-layer nanoemulsions, prepared by self-assembly emulsification and complex coacervation with chitosan, alginate, and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin, respectively. Resveratrol nanoemulsions were composed of medium-chain trigacylglycerols (MCTs), $Tween^{(R)}$ 80, water, chitosan, alginate, and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin. The corresponding mixtures were formulated for the purpose of being used as a nutraceutical delivery system. Resveratrol nanoemulsions were obtained with particle sizes of 10-800 nm, with the size variation dependent on the emulsification parameters including the ratio of aqueous phase and surfactant ratio. Resveratrol nanoemulsions were characterized by evaluating particle size, zeta-potential value, stability, and release rate. There were no significant changes in particle size and zeta-potential value of resveratrol nanoemulsions during storage for 28 days at $25^{\circ}C$. The stability of resveratrol in the double-layer nanoemulsions complexed with chitosan or ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin was higher, compared with the single-layer nanoemulsions.

  • In this paper, the downlink of the multicast based spatial modulation systems is investigated. Specifically, physical layer multicasting is introduced to increase the number of access users and to improve the communication rate of the spatial modulation system in which only single radio frequency chain is activated in each transmission. To minimize the bit error rate (BER) of the multicast based spatial modulation system, a joint optimizing algorithm of antenna selection and multicast precoding is proposed. Firstly, the joint optimization is transformed into a mixed-integer non-linear program based on single-stage reformulation. Then, a novel iterative algorithm based on the idea of branch and bound is proposed to obtain the quasioptimal solution. Furthermore, in order to balance the performance and time complexity, a low-complexity deflation algorithm based on the successive convex approximation is proposed which can obtain a sub-optimal solution. Finally, numerical results are showed that the convergence of our proposed iterative algorithm is between 10 and 15 iterations and the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) of the iterative algorithm is 1-2dB lower than the exhaustive search based algorithm under the same BER accuracy conditions.

  • Nuclear DNA was isolated from the sperm cells representing genetic characteristics and genomic polymorphisms of rainbow trout by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) amplification of DNA using arbitrary primers. Genomic DNA fingerprints were generated from rainbow trout sperm DNA by polymerase chain reaction amplification using 20 arbitrary decamers as primers. Out of these primers, 4 generated 17 highly reproducible RAPD markers, producing almost six polymorphic bands per primers. Four of 6 primers tested generated amplified fragments which were polymorphic between different individuals. Polymorphic DNA fragments were reproducibly amplified from independent DNA preparations made from individuals. Rainbow trout was distinctly observed 3 specific DNA markers (2. 3, 2.0 and 1.3kb) in bandsharing. Individual fragments generated using the same arbitrary primer, demonstrated that a single primer detected at least three independent genomic polymorphisms in rainbow trout sperm DNA. The RAPD polymorphism generated by this primer may be used as a genetic marker for individual identification The RAPD-PCR technique has been shown to reveal informative polymorphism in many species of fish. The present results demonstrate that RAPD markers are abundant, reproducible and provide a basis for future gene mapping and MAS in these important aquaculture species using RAPD polymorphic markers. It is concluded that RAPD polymorphisms are useful as genetic markers for fish breed differentiation.

  • The purpose of this study is to study how to apply block-chain technology to prevent data forgery and alteration in the defense sector of AI(Artificial intelligence). AI is a technology for predicting big data by clustering or classifying it by applying various machine learning methodologies, and military powers including the U.S. have reached the completion stage of technology. If data-based AI's data forgery and modulation occurs, the processing process of the data, even if it is perfect, could be the biggest enemy risk factor, and the falsification and modification of the data can be too easy in the form of hacking. Unexpected attacks could occur if data used by weaponized AI is hacked and manipulated by North Korea. Therefore, a technology that prevents data from being falsified and altered is essential for the use of AI. It is expected that data forgery prevention will solve the problem by applying block-chain, a technology that does not damage data, unless more than half of the connected computers agree, even if a single computer is hacked by a distributed storage of encrypted data as a function of seawater.
