Two-Stage Endovascular Repair for Concurrent Penetrating Atherosclerotic Ulcers of the Thoracic and Abdominal Aorta

  • We report a case of concurrent saccular aneurysms caused by a penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer of the thoracic and abdominal aorta that were successfully treated by staged endovascular repair. Even though surgical open repair or endovascular repair is the treatment option, use of endovascular repair is now accepted as an alternative treatment to surgery in selected patients. To prevent contrast medium-induced nephropathy and spinal cord ischemia caused by a simultaneous endovascular procedure, a saccular aneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta was excluded by stent graft, followed by the placement of a bifurcated stent graft in the infrarenal abdominal aorta one month later.

초급성 두개내 출혈 환자에서 조영제의 혈관외 누출을 동반한 비전형적 자기공명영상 (Unusual MR Features of Extravasation of Contrast Material in Hyperacute Intracerebral Hemorrhage)

  • 초급성 두개내 출혈에 있어서 조영제의 혈관외 누출은 급성 출혈을 의미하며, 혈종의 크기 증가를 예견하는 소견이다. 또한, 임상 의사들에게는 적절한 치료 방침 결정에 있어 중요한 소견이다 우리는 세 명의 초급성 두개내 출혈 환자에서 비전형적인 조영제의 혈관외 누출을 보인 자기공명 영상을 보고하고자 한다. 첫 번째 증례는 우측 기저핵과 좌측 측뇌실에 동시에 발생한 조영제 혈관외 누출의 예이며, 두 번째 증례는 혈관염이 의심되는 환자에서 조영증강을 보이는 종양이나 혈관 질환을 감별하였던 비교적 다량의 조영제의 혈관외 누출을 보인 증례이다. 마지막으로, 세 번째 증례는 고혈압 환자에서 자기공명 영상을 얻는 중에 발생한 급성 출혈의 예이다.

  • NEMA IEC body phantom으로 PET/MR 스캐너를 이용해 MR 영상 기반의 감쇠보정 된 PET 영상을 얻고, 반복재구성 기반의 점 확산 함수(PSF)에 적용 유무에 따라 PET 영상을 Contrast recovery 와 SNR 의 평가 인자를 적용해 평가하였다. 또한, 동일한 재구성 방법에 따라 본원의 내원한 환자의 영상도 평가하였다. 데이터는 임상환자 와 팬텀 실험 모두 PSF를 적용해 재구성한 영상이 모두 영상의 질이 향상됨을 확인하였다. MR 기반으로 얻어진 PET 영상 평가가 추후에도 계속해서 필요하다고 사료된다.

Co-adsorption of Irreversibly Adsorbing Sb and Te on Pt(111)

  • Presented is a voltammetric study of co-adsorption of irreversibly adsorbing Sb and Te on Pt(111). When a layer of Sb and Te was formed via simultaneous adsorption, the reduction peak of Te was observed at 0.30 V in the initial cathodic scan. In contrast, sequential adsorption of Sb followed by Te adsorption led to a Te reduction peak at 0.50 V in the initial scan. As the voltammetric scan was continued, in addition, the voltammogram of the simultaneously co-adsorbed layer changed, while that of the sequentially co-adsorbed layer did not. These observations are discussed in terms of formation of a homogeneously mixed layer and a layer consisting of heterogeneously separated domains of Sb and Te. Also, the difference in the adsorption strength of Sb and Te was observed.

한 대의 카메라와 Fiducial 마커를 이용한 SLAM (Indoor Single Camera SLAM using Fiducial Markers)

  • In this paper, a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) method using a single camera and planar fiducial markers is proposed. Fiducial markers are planar patterns that are mounted on the ceiling or wall. Each fiducial marker has a unique hi-tonal identification pattern with square outlines. It can be printed on paper to reduce cost or it can be painted using retro-reflective paint in order to make invisible and prevent undesirable visual effects. Existing localization methods using artificial landmarks have the disadvantage that landmark locations must be known a priori. In contrast, the proposed method can build a map and estimate robot location even if landmark locations are not known a priori. Hence, it reduces installation time and setup cost. The proposed method works good even when only one fiducial marker is seen at a scene. We perform computer simulation to evaluate proposed method.

  • 본 연구에서는 cdma2000기술에 기반한 IMT-2000에서 CDMA MAC을 이용한 실시간 데이터 및 비실시간 데이타를 효율적으로 전송할 수 잇는 다중 엑세스 기법을 제안한다. 이 방식은 깆노의 회선형 방식과 달리 패킷형 서비스를 지원하다. 실시간 데이타의 가변 전송률에 근거한 대역의 통계적 다중화 기법을 통하여 가임자 용량을 극대화하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 전송 지연고 채널 이용률 등의 성능을 회선형 방식과 비교한다.

A Newton-Raphson Solution for MA Parameters of Mixed Autoregressive Moving-Average Process

  • Recently a new form of the extended Yule-Walker equations for a mixed autoregressive moving-average process of orders p and q has been proposed. It can be used to obtain p+q+1 parameter values from the first p+q+1 autocovariance terms. The autoregressive part of the equations is linear and can be easily solved. In contrast the moving-average part is composed of nonlinear simultaneous equations. Thus some iterative algorithms are necessary to solve them. The iterative algorithm presented by Choi(1986) is very simple but its convergence has not been proved yet. In this paper a Newton-Raphson solution for the moving-average parameters is presented and its convergence is shown. Also numerical example illustrate the performance of the algorithm.

자율 수중 로봇을 위한 사실적인 실시간 고밀도 3차원 Mesh 지도 작성 (Photorealistic Real-Time Dense 3D Mesh Mapping for AUV)

  • This paper proposes a photorealistic real-time dense 3D mapping system that utilizes a neural network-based image enhancement method and mesh-based map representation. Due to the characteristics of the underwater environment, where problems such as hazing and low contrast occur, it is hard to apply conventional simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) methods. At the same time, the behavior of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is computationally constrained. In this paper, we utilize a neural network-based image enhancement method to improve pose estimation and mapping quality and apply a sliding window-based mesh expansion method to enable lightweight, fast, and photorealistic mapping. To validate our results, we utilize real-world and indoor synthetic datasets. We performed qualitative validation with the real-world dataset and quantitative validation by modeling images from the indoor synthetic dataset as underwater scenes.

Distinct Effect of Neurotrophins Delivered Simultaneously by an Adenoviral Vector on Neurite Outgrowth of Neural Precursor Cells from Different Regions of the Brain

  • For many years, it has been demonstrated that neurotrophins regulate the adult nervous system, implicating their potential as therapeutic agents for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. We generated adenoviral vectors encoding brain-derived neutotrophin factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin-3 (NT3) and tested either separately or together for the ability to induce differentiation of neuronal precursor cells with two different origins. Separate transduction of adenovirus delivering BDNF (BDNF-Ad) or NT3 (NT3-Ad) induced the neuronal differentiation in hippocampal and cortical precursor cells. NT3-Ad infected cells extended short neurites, whereas BDNF-Ad infected cells had longer neurites. In the early differentiation of hippocampal precursor cells, simultaneous infection of BDNF-Ad and NT3-Ad promoted further differentiation and neurite elongation compared with the separate infection of each virus. In contrast, simultaneous infection did not show the synergistic effect in the cortical precursor cells, suggesting that the neurotrophins play distinct roles in different regions of the brain. However, the numbers of neurites and spines per differentiated cells were markedly increased in cortical as well as hippocampal precursor cells, indicating the promotion of efficient neurite elongation and formation of dendritic spine, when BDNF-Ad and NT3-Ad were co-infected. These results suggest more studies in the effect of a combinatorial use of neurotrophins on different sites of brain need to be carried out to develop gene therapy protocols for neurodegenerative diseases.

For the Acquisition of Customers' Emotional Elements in the Service Design by SOMC: Simultaneous Observation Method based on Cooperation

  • Objective: This research proposes a methodology, which validates a grasp of the customers' emotions in the service design area. Background: As the era of service design has taken its approach, the need for a deliberate design that would reflect the customer's experience had emerged in the area of service. Therefore, a variety of methodologies has been adopted in the field of service design with the purpose of discovery of the customers' needs. Even though the importance of an emotion-sentient research of a service experience increases, its research progress remains to be inadequate in comparison to all the other areas. Method: Having had taken some resources from the emotional studies under other areas of expertise as a base, the concept of volatility of emotions has been introduced as the core element of this research, further followed by an elaboration of its special characteristics. The observation technique under Stakeholder's system: SOMC(Simultaneous Observation Method based on Cooperation) has been proposed in this study as it presents an effective way to grasp the concept of volatile emotions in contrast to the previously existent types of methodologies. Results: The SOMC rather supplements the existing research methods than substitutes the previous ones. In other words, although the existing research system allowed emotion detection, it was difficult to capture the change of momentary and fickle emotions. On the opposite, the SOMC provides a condition allowing a sufficient grasp of the customer's emotions and facilitates emotional capture. Conclusion: For that reason, it is hoped that this piece of research represents a valuable and effective approach in terms of grasping the true needs of the customers on the emotional level, which will in its turn contribute to the improvement of the service quality in the midst of a complicated service condition. Application: Moreover, the purpose of this research is that in its outcome it may serve as a sufficient contribution to the area of emotional studies within the field of service design.
