Scheduling and simulation for FMC systems (FMC 시스템의 스케쥴링 및 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper deals with the scheduling and simulation for FMC(Flexible Manufacturing Cells). In order to achieve CIM, there is a critical need to link factory level and machine level. The primary functions performed by this link for all jobs issued to the shop floor and cell include short-term scheduling and dynamic operational scheduling. Here, hierarchical control structure is introduced to define these functions. And Intelligent scheduling through expert module is adopted for efficiency of FMC operation. Computer simulation reveals that expert scheduling method is better than heuristics in various performance index.

  • In this manuscript, we provide some new results with short proofs for the existence of Picard-Jungck operators in the framework of generalized metric spaces using $C_G$-simulation functions. An example is also provided to illustrate the usability of the results.

  • This research attempts to develop 4D CAD function to support optimal road design by expanding the existing 4D CAD utilization system, which focused on construction phase, to the design phase. The functions such as earthwork simulation for selecting of road alignment, alternative route simulation and structure type simulation were suggested as functions to support road design. Through those virtual reality (VR) functions, visual confirmation of the condition of route and earthwork Is possible by the developed system, and an optimal alternative route can be selected by carrying out layout simulation of the alternative route. The functions presented in this research provide the decision making tools based virtual model for efficient support to road design.

An Operational Availability Analysis in Supply Chain Using Simulation (다단계 공급체인에서의 장비운용가용도 시뮬레이션 분석)

  • This study shows the operational availability(Ao) analysis of the supply chain with maintenance functions using the system dynamics simulation. The simulation uses 60 equipments which are serial systems composed by 4 major components. And every entities are connected each other by causal loops. So whole simulation executed like one organic system. Specially we consider 2 constraints, one is the number of spare parts and the other is maintenance capacity level. 2 constraints have 11 levels each so the simulation has 121(11*11) scenarios which scenario has 30 different random number seed. The simulation executed total 3,630(11*11*30) times. We analysis average Ao of total equipments by 121 scenarios and additionally the regression of the average Ao and 2 constraints. As the result, we can get the more accurate values by the system dynamics simulation than the regression to analysis complex system like the supply chain with maintenance functions.

In this study (or paper), It analyzes the simulation system concept and its characteristics, and analyze the main functions simulation system and the range of functions which are already used currently. Therefore, It could find the limit of the present simulation system, and propose more effective solutions to develop Schedule based Architectural Construction Simulation System.

  • As the application domains of rule-based systems become larger and more complicated, the integration of rule-based systems within the database systems has become the topic of many research works. This paper suggests a simulation modeling using expert system and database. The integration methods employed in this research are as follows. First, we defined new states and state transition functions to interrelate simulation model and expert system. Second, we designed and implemented FCL(Fact Class Library) as a interface of expert system and database. FCL has facilities of filtering data from database, and assigning a meaning to the filtered data. Also, FCL detects the violation of the integrity rules in database, as the result of inference is reflected. Some implementation problems are pointed out and the methods to solve these problems are discussed in this paper, We developed a simulation model of the grating production line and executed it to validate the functions of the proposed method.

  • Simulation has been recognized as an invaluable tool in designing and analyzing manufacturing system. In this paper, a Petri net based simulation tool to facilitate the simulation project in manufacturing area is presented . To simulate a manufacturing system, three models are developed ; a Petrinet model, a monitor, and a token control function. While hardware objects in manufacturing systems are modeled by Petri net objects, cell level control functions are separately modeled and integrated with a Petri net model so that they resolve conflicts occuring in Petri net execution. The monitor is a model regarding the information flow between Petri nets and token control functions. The facilities of the developed tool are presented. Also, a modeling procedure with the tool is illustrated via a case study.

  • The conceptions of generalized b-metric spaces or Gb-metric spaces and a generalized Ω-distance mappings play a key role in proving many important theorems in existence and uniqueness of fixed point theory. In this manuscript, we establish a new type of contraction namely, Ωb(𝓗, 𝜃, s)-contraction, this contraction based on the concept of a generalized Ω-distance mappings which established by Abodayeh et.al. in 2017 together with the concept of 𝓗-simulation functions which established by Bataihah et.al [10] in 2020. By utilizing this new notion we prove new results in existence and uniqueness of fixed point. On the other hand, examples and application were established to show the importance of our results.

  • Since SBA is regarded as mandatory for DM&S, many M&S frameworks and solutions were developed and applied to military simulation systems. Simulation systems developed based on such framework or solution are consist of simulation control part, scenario generation part and modeling part in common. Although the functions of these parts are similar between another simulation systems, these are developed separately by different implementation, so it causes increase of development cost. In order to solve these problems, we developed a simulation scenario framework which can be reusable regardless of simulation purpose. In this paper, we propose an architecture of simulation scenario framework and its functions.
