In this paper, based on large deviation probabilities on Gaussian random vectors, we obtain Strassen's functional LIL for d-dimensional self-similar Gaussian process in Holder norm via estimating large deviation probabilities for d-dimensional self-similar Gaussian process in Holder norm.

In this paper, the authors investigate the structure of operators similar to normaloid and transloid operators. In particular, we characterize the interior of the set of operators similar to normaloid (transloid, respectively) operators. This gives a concise spectral condition to determine when an operator is similar to a normaloid or transloid operator. Also it is proved that any Hilbert space operator has a compact perturbation with transloid property. This is used to give a negative answer to a problem posed by W. Y. Lee, concerning Weyl's theorem.

빠른 속도와 넓은 대역폭을 이용한 멀티미디어 데이터 전송이 가능하게 됨으로써 패킷 스위칭 네트워크로부터 발생되는 트래픽은 burstiness 성질을 보여준다. 이러한 트래픽은 전통적인 해석적 방법에서 네트워크의 성능평가를 위해 사용되고 있는 트래픽 모델과는 상당히 다른 self­similar 트래픽 성질을 갖고 있다는 것이 실제 트래픽을 측정한 결과 나타나고 있다. 일반적으로 ATM 스위치는 패킷을 효율적으로 전송하기 위해 다양한 공유 버퍼관리 방법을 적용한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 공유 버퍼를 사용하여 다중 스위치로 상호 연결된 ATM 스위치에서 self­similar 트래픽이 이웃 스위치들 간에 미치는 영향을 통하여 초고속 네트워크의 성능을 분석한다.

Using informations of subsets of divergence points and the relation between members of spectral classes, we give another complete decomposition of spectral classes generated by lower(upper) local dimensions of a self-similar measure on a self-similar Cantor set with full information of their dimensions. We note that it is a complete refinement of the earlier complete decomposition of the spectral classes. Further we study the packing dimension of some uncountable union of distribution sets.

멀티미디어 환경에서 많은 패킷 스위치 네트워크로부터 발생되는 트래픽은 burstiness성질이 상당히 넓은 범위의 time scale상에 존재하고, 트래픽 특성이 self-similar현상을 보이고 있다는 것이 알려지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Shared-Buffer를 이용한 ATM 스위치 buffer관리방법을 적용하여 입력포트에 self-similar 트래픽이 들어올 때 출력포트의 long-range dependency의 변화를 분석하며 아울러 큐잉 지연, 셀 손실률 그리고 이용도(utilization)등이 self-similar 트래픽에 미치는 영향을 분석할 것이다.

The unit interval is not homeomorphic to a self-similar Cantor set in which we studied the dimensions of distribution subsets. However we show that similar results regarding dimensions of the distribution subsets also hold for the unit interval since the distribution subsets have similar structures with those in a self-similar Cantor set.

멀티미디어 데이터 전송이 가능한 초고속 통신망의 발달로 음성을 위주로 서비스하던 과거와는 다른 self-similar 특성을 갖는 데이터 트래픽이 발생된다는 것이 알려지고 있다. 이러한 트래픽은 전통적인 네트워크 해석 방법인 포와송 트래픽 모델과는 상당히 차이가 난다는 것이 여러 트래픽의 측정 결과 나타나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 공유 메모리를 갖는 CS(Complete Sharing), DT(Dynamic Threshold), PO(Push-Out) 그리고, SMXQ(Sharing with Maximum Queue)와 같은 다양한 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) 스위치의 버퍼 관리 기법을 이용하여 입력포트에 self-similar 성질을 갖는 트래픽이 들어올 때 출력포트에서의 self-similarity와 셀 손실률 그리고, 이용률 등을 분석한다.

이동 객체(moving objects)의 궤적(trajectories)은 내용 기반 비디오 검색을 위해 비디오의 내용이나 의미를 색인하는 데 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 비디오 데이터가 지니는 이동 객체의 궤적(moving objects' trajectories)에 대한 효율적인 검색을 위해 k-워핑(k-warping) 알고리즘에 기반한 유사 부분궤적 검색(similar sub-trajectory retrieval) 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 궤적을 구성하는 움직임 요소 모두에 대해서 고정된 값(k)만큼까지의 반복을 허용하는 고정 반복 유사 부분궤적 검색(Fixed-Replication similar Sub-trajectory Retrieval: VRSR)과 움직임 요소 각각에 대해서 서로 다른 값으로 할당하고 그 값만큼까지의 반복을 허용하는 가변 반복 유사 부분궤적 검색(Variable-Replication similar Sub-trajectory Retrieval: VRSR) 방법이다. 제안하는 방법은 이동 객체의 궤적을 모델링하기 위해 주로 사용되는 방향만의 단일 속성(property) 뿐만 아니라, 방향, 거리, 그리고 시간 등을 포함하는 다중 속성(multiple properties)을 지원한다. 마지막으로, 성능 평가를 통해, 제안하는 k-워핑 알고리즘에 기반한 유사 부분궤적 검색 기법이 동등한 재현율을 유지하면서, 기존의 Li의 방법(no-warping)과 Shan의 OCMR방법(infinite-warping)에 비해 정확율 측면에서 좋은 성능을 보인다.

We compute the Hausdorff and packing dimensions of the cylindrical lower or upper local dimension set for a self-similar measure having different minimum and maximum of the local dimension on a self-similar set satisfying the open set condition.
