광화학적 방법을 이용한 금속입자의 합성과 광학적 특성 연구 (Surface Plasmon Resonances of Metal Colloidal Particles Synthesized by a Photo-Chemical Process)

  • 이 논문에서는 광화학적 방법을 이용하여 금속 콜로이드 입자를 반도체 나노입자를 함유한 수용액내에서 제조하여 그 광학적 특성을 관찰하였다. 형성된 금속입자는 사용된 반도체 입자에 따라 다른 경향을 나타낸다. Au 금속 입자를 CdS 입자를 함유한 수용액내에서 제조한 경우 일반적인 금속 입자의 Plasmon Resonance의 특성을 보이는 반면 Ag금속 입자를 AgBr 입자를 함유한 용액내에서 제조한 경우 Red-Shift 현상을 보였고, 그 정도는 UV 조사량에 따라 달라졌다. 이러한 금속 Plasmon Resonance의 Red-Shift 현상을 Effective Medium 이론을 이용하여 이론적으로 설명하였다.

Surface Wear Monitoring with a Non-Vibrating Capacitance Probe

  • This study concerns the design and development of the non-vibrating capacitance probe which could be used as a non-contact sensor for tribological wear. This device detects surface charge through temporal variation in the work function of a material. Experiments are performed to demonstrate the operation of the probe on a roating aluminum shaft. The reference electrode of the probe, made of lead, is placed adjacent (< 1.25-mm distance) to the shaft. Both surfaces which are electrically connected, form a capacitor. An artificial spatial variation in the work function is imposed on the shaft surface by coating a segment along the shaft circumference with a colloidal silver paint. As the shaft rotates, the reference electode senses changing contact potential difference with the shaft surface, owing to compositional variation. Temporal variation in the contact potential difference induces a current through the electrical connection. This current is amplified and converted to a voltage signal by an electoronic circuit with an operational amplifier. The magnitude of the signal decreases asymptotically with the electrode-shaft distance and increases linearly with the rotational frequency. These results are consistent with the theoretical model. Potential applications of the probe on wear monitoring are proposed.

심전도 및 수면시 체동 측정 모듈 장착을 위한 브래지어 프로토타입 개발 (A Development of Brassiere Prototype for Attaching the Measuring Module of ECG and Body Movement while Sleeping)

  • In this study, brassiere prototype was developed for attaching the measuring module of ECG measurement and body movement while sleeping. For ECG measurement, textile electrodes was made of stretch fabric containing polyurethane in consideration of elasticity of brassiere band. It was used as a conductive yarn by silver coating on the warp. The textile electrodes was woven with twisted twill to increase the density of conductive yarns. The pressure of the brassiere band was enough to sensing stably the ECG, and the elastic band of the brassiere was designed to be wider than 3cm to install the textile electrodes inside, so that textile electrodes was close fitting to the skin at a constant pressure without lifting. The textile electrodes coated with silicon on rear was attached to brassiere elastic band, and the module was installed with a snap connector to textile electrodes of brassiere band. The module was suitable to monitering ECG measurement of a typical R peak, pulse rate and body movement while sleeping without interfering.

Zinc Sulfide-selenium X-ray Detector for Digital Radiography

  • The high bias voltage associated with the thick layer (typically 500-1000 ㎛) of selenium required to have an acceptable x-ray absorption in radiography and fluoroscopy applications may have some practical inconvenience. A hybrid x-ray detector with zinc sulfide-amorphous selenium structure has been developed to improve the x-ray sensitivity of a a-Se based flat-panel digital imaging detector. Photoluminescence(PL) characteristic of a ZnS:Ag phosphor layer showed a light emission peak centered at about 450 nm, which matches the sensitivity spectrum of selenium. The dark current of the hybrid detector showed similar characteristics with that of a a-Se detector. The x-ray sensitivity of hybrid and a-Se x-ray detector was 345 pC/㎠/mR and 295 pC/㎠/mR at an applied voltage of 10 V/㎛, respectively. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the pertinence of a solution using a thin selenium layer, as a photosensitive converter, with a thick coating of silver doped zinc sulfide phosphor.

Simple Analysis for Interaction between Nanoparticles and Fluorescence Vesicle as a Biomimetic Cell for Toxicological Studies

  • With continuing progress of nanotechnologies and various applications of nanoparticles, one needs to develop a quick and fairly standard assessment tool to evaluate cytotoxicity of nanoparticles. However, much cytotoxicity studies on the interpretation of the interaction between nanoparticles and cells are non-mechanistic and time-consuming. Here, we propose a simple screening method for the analysis of the interaction between several AgNPs (5.3 to 64 nm) and fluorescence-dye containing vesicles ($12{\mu}m$) acting as a biomimetic cell-membrane. Fluorescence-dye containing vesicle was prepared using a fluorescence probe (1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatryene), which was intercalated into the lipid bilayer due to their hydrophobicity. Zeta potential of all materials except for bare-AgNPs (+32.8 mV) was negative (-26 to -54 mV). The morphological change (i.e., rupture and fusion of vesicle, and release of dye) after mixing of the vesicle and AgNPs was observed by fluorescence microscopy, and fluorescence image were different with coating materials and surface charge of x-AgNPs. In the results, we found that the surface charge of nanoparticles is the key factor for vesicle rupture and fusion. This proposed method might be useful for analyzing the cytotoxicity of nanoparticles with cell-membranes instead of in vitro or in vivo cytotoxicity tests.

대기압 유전체배리어방전으로 합성 및 산화 처리된 SiOxCy(-H) 박막의 부식방지 특성 (Anti-corrosion Properties of SiOxCy(-H) thin Films Synthesized and Oxidized by Atmospheric Pressure Dielectric Barrier Discharge)

  • A SiOxCy(-H) thin film was synthesized by atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge(APDBD), and a SiO2-like layer was formed on the surface of the film by oxidation treatment using oxygen plasma. Hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane was used as a precursor for the SiOxCy(-H) synthesis, and He gas was used for stabilizing APDBD. Oxygen permeability was evaluated by forming an oxidized SiOxCy(-H) thin film on a PET film. When the single-layer oxidized SiOxCy(-H) film was coated on the PET, the oxygen gas permeability decreased by 46% compared with bare PET. In case of three-layer oxidized SiOxCy(-H) film, the oxygen gas permeability decreased by 73%. The oxygen permeability was affected by the thickness of the SiO2-like layer formed by oxidation treatment rather than the thickness of the SiOxCy(-H) film. The excellent corrosion resistance was demonstrated by coating an oxidized SiOxCy(-H) thin film on the silver-coated aluminum PCB for light emitting diode (LED).

서브 마이크론급 구리 입자의 은도금 공정에 따른 내산화성 강화 연구 (Antioxidation Behavior of Submicron-sized Cu Particles with Ag Coating)

  • 내산화 특성을 가지는 구리(Cu) 기반의 미세 도전 필러를 제조하기 위하여 서브마이크론급의 은(Ag) 코팅 Cu 입자를 제조하고, 그 내산화 특성을 평가하였다. 평균 크기 $0.705{\mu}m$의 Cu 입자들을 습식 합성법으로 제작한 후, 에틸렌글리콜 용매를 사용한 연속 공정으로 Ag 도금을 실시하여 Ag 도금 Cu 입자를 제조하였다. Ag 도금 공정에서 제어한 주요 변수는 환원제 아스코빅산의 첨가 농도, Ag 전구체 용액의 주입속도 및 혼합 용액의 교반속도였는데, 이들의 변화에 따른 Ag 도금의 특성과 미세한 순수 은Ag 입자의 생성 변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 공정변수들을 최적화시킴으로써 불필요한 순수 Ag 입자들이 생성을 막고, Ag 도금 Cu 입자들간의 응집을 억제할 수 있었다. 최적 제조조건에서 제조된 Ag 도금 Cu 입자들은 다소간의 응집을 나타내었으나, 대기중에서 $10^{\circ}C/min$의 승온속도로 가열 시 약 $225^{\circ}C$에서야 0.1%의 무게 증가를 나타내었고, $150^{\circ}C$의 대기중에서는 75 분까지 무게 증가가 없는 우수한 내산화 특성을 나타내었다.

박테리아 셀룰로오스 기반 전도성 막의 전도도 향상을 위한 PEDOT:PEG와 황산혼합액 코팅의 영향 (Effect of Coating with the Mixture of PEDOT:PEG and Sulfuric Acid to Enhance Conductivity of Bacterial Cellulose Platform Film)

  • 본 연구에서는 박테리아 셀룰로오스(BC)와 같은 천연고분자에 전도성 고분자 PEDOT:PEG와 graphene, 은나노와이어(AgNW)를 코팅하여 전도성을 부여하고자 하였다. 미리 PEDOT:PEG와 황산을 10~20%를 혼합하여 그 용액을 전자 스핀 코팅으로 BC 기판에 코팅하였다. 그 후, 전도성을 향상시키고자 graphene과 AgNW로 코팅하여 hall effect로 측정하였다. 그 결과, 대조군 PEDOT:PEG로 코팅한 BC 막의 전자농도($2.487{\times}10^{10}/cm^3$)에 비해 PEDOT:PEG에 황산을 10%로 혼합하여 코팅시킨 BC막($8.093{\times}10^{15}/cm^3$) 쪽이 $3.25{\times}10^5$배 높은 값을 나타내는 것으로 전도도가 대폭 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, SEM분석으로 PEDOT:PEG가 황산처리에 의해 폴리머 형상으로 변화된 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 분자구조의 변화를 FTIR분석결과 $1200cm^{-1}$ 파장의 S-O그룹이 황산처리 전에 비해 황산 혼합한 쪽에서 크게 상승된 것이 확인되었다. 이 방법을 이용하여 소량의 PEDOT:PEG사용으로 투명성을 확보할 수 있으며 미리 황산을 처리하는 것으로 제조공정을 단순하게 할 것으로 사료된다.

EM Radioautographic Techniques에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) - Cork 방법(方法) - (An Improved Method for EM Radioautographic Techniques using Cork)

  • Electron microscope radioautography introduced by Liquier-Milward (1956) is now used routinely in many laboratories. Most of the technical difficulties in specimen preparation have been overcome. This method is modified from loop method for improvement of EM radioautographic techniques. The advantages of this method are: 1. the use of single specimens on small corks and of a large wire loop, allows the experimenter to avoid the blemishes in the membrane; 2. the surfactant dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate is added to diluted ILford L4, thus greatly prolonging the period of time over which good emulsion layers can be made; 3. corks can be handled in perspex holder which allows about 20 specimens to be developed simultaneously. The steps of the method comprise: 1. Cut ribbons of ultrathin sections of silver interference colour 2. Pick them up on formvar-coated 200 mesh grids 3. Prestaining of tissues 4. Coat the specimens with a thin layer of carbon by evaporation (30-60A) 5. Mount the specimens on corks (about 1cm apical diameter) using double-sided scotch tape 6. Emulsion coating; a. Take a 250m1 beaker, place it on the pan of a sliding weight balance and weigh it. Add 10 grams extra to the beam. Add pieces of ILford L4 emulsion to the beaker until the balance is swinging freely. Add the 20ml of distilled water that was previously measured out. b. Surfactant dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate is added to diluted ILford L4. 7. Prepare a series of membranes of gelled emulsion with the wire loop and apply one to each cork-borne specimen. 8. Put the specimens away to expose by pushing the corks into short length of PVC tubing, each tube having a small hole in the side 9. Place the tubes in small boxes together with silica gel. 10. Exposure 11. Developer - Kodak Microdol X for 3 minutes 12. Fixer - A perspex holder can be manufactured which allows 20 specimens to be developed simultaneously. 12. Fixer - 30% sodium thiosulfate for 10 minutes 13. Examination with Siemens Elmiskop 1A electron microscope

$K_2MnO_4/Al_2O_3$촉매를 이용한 과산화수소 기화기의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Hydrogen Peroxide Vaporizer with $K_2MnO_4/Al_2O_3$ Catalyst)

  • 고농도 과산화수소는 별도의 산화제가 필요치 않은 단일추진제로써 상온에서 액상인 장점이 있어 다양한 장치의 추진제로 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고온촉매인 $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}CoO_3(LSC)$촉매의 저온 시동성능의 보완을 위해 은, 백금, LSC, 망간계열촉매를 후보군으로 하여 과산화수소 가스발생기의 기화기 촉매를 실험적으로 선정하였다. 또한 이 때 발견된 망간계열촉매의 접착문제를 해결하고자 알루미나 졸-겔법을 이용한 촉매 합성법과 코팅 방법을 개발하였다. 그리고 코팅된 $K_2MnO_4/Al_2O_3$촉매와 LSC와의 드롭-테스트를 통해 상온에서의 반응성과 응답특성을 비교하였고, 가스발생기를 이용한 반응실험을 통해 설계유량에 적합한 기화기의 길이를 측정하였다.
