  • In this paper, we propose the signal processing techniques for the command link receiver mounted to aircrafts flying at a high speed. In order to acquire the various information transmitted from ground through radio frequency links, the wide received signal range must be guaranteed as well as the carrier synchronization and symbol synchronization be performed correctly within short pulse sections. After the synchronization step, we should be able to achieve theoretical performance of the modulation and demodulation scheme applied as deciding bit and symbol at the time appointed. By test results, we make sure that the proposed signal processing techniques can be effectively applied command link receiver mounted to aircrafts.

  • In the non-destructive evaluation techniques using ultrasonic signal, backscattering noise from grain interface decreases the SNR of received signal. In this paper, SSP(split-spectrum processing) based on the constant FBR decomposition method has been applied to enhance the SNR. This algorithm helps to find optimal parameters of filter bank through a simple theory and has an advantage that reduce the signal processing time compared with the conventional constant bandwidth decomposition method. In this experiment, the 304 stainless steel sample is heat-treated and received ultrasonic signal is processed by SSP using the constand bandwidth decomposition method and the constand FBR decomposition method enhanced the SNR by 1.4 dB and reduced the required number of filters by 4 compared with the constant bandwidth decomposition method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of automatic white balance which is one of the image signal processing techniques. Our method is conceptually based on gray world assumption. However, while previous methods generate linear results as multiplying pixel values by a gain, our method generates non-linear results using the feature of B-Spline curves. The two merits of deriving non-linear results are preventing AWB failure from transforming strong color of high level into wrong color and well preserving original contrast of an input image.

  • In side channel analysis, signal processing techniques can be used as preprocessing to enhance the efficiency and performance of analysis by reducing the noise or compressing the dimension. As signal processing techiniques using singular value decomposition can increase the information of main signal and reduce the noise by using the variance and tendency of signal, it is a great help to improve the performance of analysis. Typical techniques of that are PCA(Principal Component Analysis), LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis) and SSA(Singular Spectrum Analysis). PCA and LDA can compress the dimension with increasing the information of main signal, and SSA reduces the noise by decomposing the signal into main siganl and noise. When applying each one or combination of these techniques, it is necessary to compare the performance. Therefore, it needs to suggest methodology of that. In this paper, we compare the performance of the three technique and propose using Sinal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR) as the methodology. Through the proposed methodology and various experiments, we confirm the performance and efficiency of each technique. This will provide useful information to many researchers in the field of side channel analysis.

  • The primary objective of this work was to discover a solution for the survival of people in an emergency flood. The geographical information was obtained from remote sensing techniques. Through helpline numbers, people who are in need request support. Although, it cannot be ensured that all the people will acquire the facility. A proper link is required to communicate with people who are at risk in affected areas. Mobile sensor networks with field-programmable gate array (FPGA) self-configurable radios were deployed in damaged areas for communication. Ad-hoc networks do not have a centralized structure. All the mobile nodes deploy a temporary structure and they act as a base station. The mobile nodes are involved in searching the spectrum for channel utilization for better communication. FPGA-based techniques ensure seamless communication for the survivors. Timely help will increase the survival rate. The received signal strength is a vital factor for communication. Cognitive radio ensures channel utilization in an effective manner which results in better signal strength reception. Frequency band selection was carried out with the help of the GRA-MADM method. In this study, an analysis of signal strength for different mobile sensor nodes was performed. FPGA-based implementation showed enhanced outcomes compared to software-based algorithms.

And $9/125[{\mu}m]$ standard single mode optical fiber for communication was installed winding 20 [turn] on sensor section core surroundings of diameter 31 [cm].(3) Electrical signal of PD(Photo detector) is collected using NI company's 16bit DAQ board via terminal block. Collected data analyzed by different three signal processing methods. NI company's $Labview^{TM}$ was used to signal processing software. As a result, In signal processing of optic current sensor, we could know that noise greatly more influences the error generation than fluctuation of light intensity. also, 1 class CT(current transformer) manufacture that have error rate less than 1[%] was available by removing these

  • A target signal simulation method for passive sonar systems is introduced. The method uses multirate signal processing techniques to simulate moving target signals in the multi-path sound propagation environment by introducing Lloyd's mirror and Doppler effect. Time and frequency variation of target signal due to the target maneuvering is also considered to provide realistic ship signatures in the LOFAR gram so that the simulated target is used for sonar operator training. Synthesized target characteristics is analyzed and compared with real target signal in terms of interference pattern and frequency variation in the LOFAR gram.

  • Signal decomposition is a computational technique that dissects a signal into its constituent components, providing supplementary information. In this study, the capability of two common signal decomposition techniques, including wavelet-based and empirical mode decomposition, on preterm birth classification was investigated. Ten time-domain features were extracted from the constituent components of electrohysterogram (EHG) signals, including EHG subbands and EHG intrinsic mode functions, and employed for preterm birth classification. Preterm birth classification and anticipation are crucial tasks that can help reduce preterm birth complications. The computational results show that the preterm birth classification obtained using wavelet-based decomposition is superior. This, therefore, implies that EHG subbands decomposed through wavelet-based decomposition provide more applicable information for preterm birth classification. Furthermore, an accuracy of 0.9776 and a specificity of 0.9978, the best performance on preterm birth classification among state-of-the-art signal processing techniques, were obtained using the time-domain features of EHG subbands.

  • We have been implemented simple statistical pattern recognition methods for harmful gases classification using gas sensors array fabricated by MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) technology. The performance of pattern recognition method as a gas classifier is highly dependent on the choice of pre-processing techniques for sensor and sensors array signals and optimal classification algorithms among the various classification techniques. We carried out pre-processing for each sensor's signal as well as sensors array signals to extract features for each gas. We adapted simple statistical pattern recognition algorithms, which were PCA (Principal Component Analysis) for visualization of patterns clustering and MLR (Multi-Linear Regression) for real-time system implementation, to classify harmful gases. Experimental results of adapted pattern recognition methods with pre-processing techniques have been shown good clustering performance and expected easy implementation for real-time sensing system.
