  • This paper describes a method for sinusoidal modeling of audio signals using perceptually weighted matching pursuit. Matching pursuits extracts iteratively the greatest energy signals from the input signals until the residual between the original and the reconstructed signal is zero. In this paper, perceptual matching pursuits using psychoacoustic model to matching pursuit extracts greatest perceived energy iteratively. To evaluate the performance of the perceptual matching pursuits it is compared with the sinusoidal matching pursuits which is not included perceptual weighting. For various audio signals the result of simulation shows that the perceptual matching pursuit is superior to the sinusoidal matching pursuits, especially for a high change rate in time domain it can synthesized original signal.

  • This paper introduces a result of internal signal modeling for a defect diagnosis of the UM-71C track circuit using on HSL. Actually, We fixed a sample area within operating section on HSL and performed the simulations for short circuit current that is reflected characteristic impedance and propagation factor. We compared the measuring data with the result of the simulation. These modeling can be used as the basic data for secure of the safety. Also, It need to make a criteria of analysis for the maintenance through comparison simulation data and inspection data.

  • In the case of the transfer function for the secondary path is dependent on time, the on-line method which can model it is continuously must be applied to the active noise control technique. And the adaptive random noise technique among the on-line methods is effective in the narrow-band control. In this method, the signal to noise ratio between random noise for modeling and primary noise is low. Therefore, the estimations of transfer function will be prone to inaccuracies and the convergence time will be too long. Such imperfections will have an influence upon the performance of an active noise controller. In this study, t enhance the signal to noise ratio, the on-line method that is combined the conventional adaptive random noise technique and the adaptive line enhancer, is proposed. By using proposed on-line method, a rigorous system identification and control of primary noise have been implemented.

  • Routing signal lines in PCB, line shapes would be straight or bent. time-domain and frequency-domain evaluation of the signal property and interference are archived by precise Modeling of differential signal line. Some of CAD tools can extract equivalent circuit model parameters. but it takes a long time and heavy loads. This paper introduces a basic RLC equivalent circuit model parameter extraction technique for bent differential structures using genetic algorithm by this technique, we can model equivalent circuit of bent differential structures more faster.

  • Retina transforms the external light into electrical signal that stimulates visual cortex of the brain. Electrical modeling of the retina is useful to understand its structure and action that is a prerequisite to implement the retina as a hardware device. This paper introduces a 2-D electrical network model of vertebrate's retina considering signal pathway of retinal cells and synapses. We implemented a simulator of the retina based on the electrical network model to analyze its operation under various circumstances. Compared to the prior studies, It might contribute designing of artificial retina device in terms of that this study specifically observed input and output reactions of each cell and synapse node under various light intensity on the retina.

  • This paper introduces a new monitoring technique which utilizes an adaptive signal processing for feature generation, coupled with a multilayered merual network for pattern recognition. The cutting force signal in face milling operation was modeled by a low order discrete autoregressive model, shere parameters were estimated recursively at each sampling instant using a parameter adaptation algorithm based on an RLS(recursive least square) method with discounted measurements. The influences of the adaptation algorithm parameters as well as some considerations for modeling on the estimation results are discussed. The sensitivity of the extimated model parameters to the tool state(new and worn tool)is presented, and the application of a multilayered neural network to tool state monitoring using the previously generated features is also demonstrated with a high success rate. The methodology turned out to be quite suitable for in-process tool wear monitoring in the sense that the model parameters are effective as tool state features in milling operation and that the classifier successfully maps the sensors data to correct output decision.

  • Although CDP stacking of common depth gathering is used to get the zero-offset-section, the exploding reflector concept is examined for the modeling of zero source to receiver offset sections in this paper. The acoustic wave equation is compared with a one way wave equation which represents the upgoing wave field only. The one way wave equation used is not derived through an expansion and, therefore, can represent dips up do 90b degrees and may not lost the signals by the dipping angles. There is apparently no simple counterpart of this equation is the space domain and it can be conveniently implemented only by a Fourier method. This paper compares their modeling technique with ray tracing and wave method for over thrust structure which is one of the geological structures are dificult to process and interpret. As a result of modeling much clean and accurate signals, especially, diffractions form the corner and dipping angles can be gathered.

  • We propose a method to use a state transition model so that the sensing object can be distinguished through classification of signal patterns sensed by a sensor array. Focusing on the design of the model that is able to distinguish the sensed object more exactly, we present an idea in which the modeling elements, 'states' and 'transitions' are defined as each same-sized angle intervals into which the angle interval $(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2})$ is divided and the angle differences between adjacent signal values on sampling signal value sequence value sequence sensed from the sensor array in the uniform time interval, respectively. In addition we show the usefulness of our model through experiments.

  • When a active sonar signal is transmitted and returned back from a target, it has been distorted by various properties of acoustic channel such as multipath arrivals. And signals have been appeared to be different form by target position and attitude. Therefore, we simulated the target echo signal using 3 dimensional target model include reflects target features. In this paper, we develop components form of a simulated target model is made up equally spaced highlight points, and each part of the target consists of shape function. We can simulate a target echo signal and Target strength (TS) according to wave incident angle. To verify, we made small scale target in kit form and we had got underwater target signal for comparing simulation result in water tank.
