이마바리해사클러스터의 사례분석 (Imabari Maritime Cluster: A Case Analysis of Japan Maritime Cluster)

  • 한진해운 도산이후, 한국해운의 재건을 위한 방안의 하나로 제시된 해운조선 상생 발전에 대한 실천적 대안의 하나인 해사클러스터 구축에 대한 정책대안 마련이 본 논문의 목적이다. 이를 위하여 가장 성공적인 해사클러스터를 구축하고 해운 조선 조선기자재 금융 등 핵심구성요소들간에 상생을 위한 협력이 이루어지고 있는 일본의 이마바리해사클러스터에 대하여 포터의 다이어몬드모델을 활용하여 분석하였다. 이마바리 해사클러스터는 해운과 조선간의 협력을 바탕으로 하는 국내완결형 수요조건과 관련지원산업조건을 갖추었다. 생산요소조건은 가족경영을 기반으로 하는 뛰어난 해운경영자와 이들을 하나로 묶어주는 행정과 금융을 기반으로 하고 있지만 지방중소도시에 위치한 근본적인 약점으로 우수한 인재확보나 대형항만부재로 인한 항만서비스업의 부진은 약점으로 들 수 있다. 기업전략조건은 단기적인 시점보다는 장기적인 시점에서 안정경영을 중시하고 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to let the entire logistics system be managed in cyberspace by effectively sharing the logistics information between companies involved in the process, changing conventional commerce to electronic commerce. Most of the goods traded through electronic commerce are small goods involving small business transactions. This produces many problems in shipping and delivery and the leads an inefficient logistics system. Another problems is that there is no sharing of information that process the logistics flow and no systematic management of pick-up and delivery information. As a result, rise in logistics cost, longer delivery period and poor service quality are inevitable and these results are becoming an obstacle in the widespread usage of the electronic commerce. Companies that are part of logistics center can cooperate logistics business in Cyber space and share the entire logistics information through the cyber logistics center. This turns out in effective sharing of logistics information, and thus, allows efficient management of logistics, improves logistics service, and reduces logistics cost.

Emission Control Routes in Container Shipping between Korea-China

  • Purpose - As the severity of air pollution caused by the shipping industry is becoming evident, port authorities have started making efforts to reduce air pollutants. Considering the limitations of the currently implemented emission-control area (ECA) and vessel-speed reduction program (VSRP), which are narrow in the designation range and navigation behavior of ships, this study proposes an emission-control route (ECR) that can complement the aforementioned two environmental policies. Design/methodology - This study was conducted on Korea-China trade service routes (ports of call) of regular liners. This study employed vessel-specific data, which is from an automatic identification system (AIS), for 1,728 maritime transportations performed by 387 container vessels during one year (July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022). Performing a scenario analysis, this study analyzed the effectiveness of reduced air-pollutant emissions. Findings - This study found that the implementation of ECRs could increase average voyage time by 12.38%-25.28% but reduced air-pollutant emissions by 29.02%-43.54%. Additionally, the increase in average voyage times reduces the anchorage time of ships outside ports, providing an incentive for ship operators to voluntarily participate in compliance with regulations, thereby contributing to the establishment of a virtuous cycle of air-environmental policies related to ships. Originality/value - This study aims to verify the policy effectiveness by designing an ECR scope for liner trade routes between Korea and China. Therefore, originality and the value of this study includes conceptualizing the ECR system, analyzing its environmental performance, and exploring new policies that can be implemented while complementing existing policies.

광양만권 해운항만산업의 지역경제 파급효과 분석: 지역산업연관분석 중심 (Economic Impact of Gwangyang Bay Area Shipping and Port Logistic Industry on the Regional Economy: A Regional Input-Output Analysis)

  • 본 논문은 2010년 29부문 광양만권특화 지역산업연관모형을 구축하여 광양만권 해운항만산업의 지역경제에서의 위치, 지역산업과의 연관성 그리고 지역경제에의 파급효과를 분석한다. 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 2010년 기준 국가 해운항만산업 대비 광양만권 해운항만산업의 생산액, 부가가치액, 취업자의 비중은 각각 약 10.8%, 6.06%, 2.92%이며, 지역 전체산업 대비로는 각각 약 1.96%, 2.28%, 2.44%이다. 국가 총 항만서비스 수요 대비 광양만권 해운항만서비스 수요의 비중은 약 6.4%이다. 입지분석결과, 생산액 기준, 부가가치 기준, 그리고 종사자 수 기준 모두에서 해운항만산업은 광양만권 서비스부문 중 유일하게 전국대비 특화도가 1보다 큰 부문으로, 지역의 서비스부문은 해운항만산업에 특화된 산업구조를 가지고 있다. 한편, 해운항만산업은 지역주력제조업과 지역의 주요 생산자서비스업과 높은 연관성을 가지고 있다. 특히, 석유 및 화학은 해운항만산업과 전후방연관성이 모두 높으며 1차금속은 전방연관성이 높다. 도소매 및 기타운수 보관은 해운항만산업과 전후방 연관성이 모두 높으며, 금융 보험, 부동산, 사업서비스 등은 후방연관성이 높다. 수요 및 공급측면에서 종합적으로 분석한 광양만권 해운항만산업의 지역경제 파급효과는 약 6조 원의 생산유발효과, 약 2조5천억 원의 부가가치유발효과, 약 1만 6천 명의 취업유발효과 등으로 광양만권 지역경제 총 생산의 약 4%, 총 부가가치의 약 5.8%, 그리고 총 취업자의 약 6.7%가 해운항만산업과 연관되어 있다.

  • Recently, Korea shipping companies have been internally/externally difficult to manage their fleet due to the high price of bunker, wage and low cost of charterage and freight. To solve these problems, some shipping companies have tried to set up a new business regarding offshore plant supply vessel(OSV). Owing to the absence of big oil field near the Korea coast, OSV market has not been gradually progressing as far. This study intends to review the legal review of both international and municipal law for the OSV. Therefore I have provided basic legal information to the domestic shipping companies which have desired to enter the OSV's market and suggest legal revision harmoniously to identify the problem in the municipal law.

  • The importance of service quality in any service industry cannot be disputed. Shippers have increased expectations concerning the quality of shipping service they receive and carriers are struggling to meet these expectations. This struggle between shipper and carriers would suggest that there is room to improve much more understandings of how shipper define shipping service quality in the carriers' perspectives. This is an empirical investigation and study on the measurement of customer response and service quality as perceived by customer in the international transportation logistics system. The purpose of this study is to clarify factors of shipping service quality on the basis of service marketing concept. In order to fulfill the objectives, this paper combined research tools that include both empirical study and documentary research. Data was gathered from 132 freight forwarder by the use of questionnaire. In this study, the established hypotheses were generated on the basis of the service quality evaluation model(SERVQUAL, SERVPERF, and EP) and Gap model.

  • At the present, e-commerce takes the place of existing transaction form in structure in the world trade by advancement of Information Technology and diffusion of Internet. There is no exceptions of this tendency even in industry of maritime and logistics. So, global shipping lines and logistics companies try to construct the e-Business network system for increasing their competitiveness in an are of cyber. However, in Korea, most of companies prefer "final handshake" as the traditional way of transaction to "e-commerce", because they bear a distrust in mind about the outflow of transaction information and security of settlement. So, number of companies using e-commerce is very small, and this situation causes the limited factor for activating the transaction structure of it. The rate of using e-commerce in logistics industry is lower than other industries, even more higher effectiveness is expected when they use it. Especially, it is very necessary not only e-commerce but also e-Logistics which can serve information of freight cost on cargo flow, operation cost and schedule, and tracing information of cargo. Increasing the necessity of e-Logistics, this study research the rate rf using e-Logistics focused on maritime and logistics companies, and analyze the transaction form among members of these industries for improving them. In detail, this paper examine the drivers for activating e-Logistics, and present the effective factors for a successful development of these industries.

Knowledge Acquisition in the Global Strategic Alliance Network

  • This paper aims to empirically examine how shipping companies can effectively acquire knowledge from their strategic alliance partners. This paper adopts cooperative network embeddedness mechanism, such as network density and tie closeness, as a channel through which to acquire more knowledge for shipping participants within a strategic alliance network. This study also examines the moderating role of competition between alliance partners in reinforcing the effectiveness of the cooperative relationships on the knowledge acquisition. Based on the literature, hypotheses to predict the aforementioned associations between cooperative network embeddedness and knowledge acquisition and the moderating role of competition in facilitating that association are established. A quantitative research method using survey data conducted in the Korean shipping industry was employed in order to empirically test the presented hypotheses. The results show that if players in a shipping alliance network are embedded in a dense network and have close relationships with their alliance partners, this helps to facilitate a greater degree of knowledge acquisition from the partners; and the impact of network density on the knowledge acquisition would be intensified with the higher level of competition between shipping companies.

  • 본 연구는 부산항만공사 설립 전과 후에 대하여 항만의 주요고객인 선사(대형선사, 피더선사)와 터미널 운영사를 중심으로 컨테이너 터미널이용에 대한 고객만족 요인을 연구하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였으며, 연구결과 고객유형별로 만족도가 다르며, 고객의 니즈가 환경변화에 따라 변하고 있음을 확인하였다. 즉, 대형선사는 터미널 선석 수에, Feeder선사는 연계운송수단의 편리성과 예정된 시간의 입출항을, 터미널 운영사는 고객유치활동에 있어서 만족에 대한 인식차이가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 목표고객을 선정한 후 목표 고객에 맞는 서비스 전략을 수립해 나가야 할 것이다.

  • 치열한 항만간의 경쟁에서 우위를 확보하고 항만의 주요고객인 화주와 선사들의 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해서는 물류서비스를 개선해야한다. 하지만 물류서비스 불만의 대부분은 터미널 내부의 문제이기 보다는 화주의 잦은 운송변경 및 선사로부터 제공되는 하역정보나 운송사로부터 반입되는 화물정보의 부정확성에 기인하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해 장치장의 업무흐름을 프로세스 중심으로 재설계하고 장치장관리 프로토타입 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 장치 할당 계획 수립에 선복예약목록 정보가 불충분한 화물정보를 보완하여 장치장 관리에서 협업적 공급망을 구성하는데 이용될 수 있음을 확인 하였다.
