  • In this study, the dose of antimony shielding sheet was measured and the shielding rates according to the distance between the radioisotopes and the detector was analyzed according to the type of $^{99m}Tc$, $^{18}F$, $^{201}Tl$, $^{131}I$, $^{123}I$ using the antimony shielding sheet. The detector was used with an inspector. Six sheets of 0.25 mmPb were prepared with 20 cm width and length. Measurement results using $^{99m}Tc$, $^{201}Tl$, and $^{123}I$ showed that as the thickness of the sheet became thicker, the farther the distance from the source to the sheet was, the smaller the transmitted dose amount was measured. It was analyzed that a thickness of 1.50 mm or more was required to obtain a shielding rates of 90% or more. In the experiments of $^{18}F$ and $^{131}I$, the dose value was highest when 0.25 mm sheet was used, and the shielding rates was negative, unlike the results of other radioisotopes. Since $^{201}Tl$ are used when using antimony sheet and $^{18}F$ and $^{131}I$ have no shielding effect, it is thought that it is effective to reduce dose by repeating training and simulation training so that work can be done in a short time.

  • Electromagnetic shielding sheet using the carbon and wood fiber mixture was manufactured in an effort to develop an electromagnetic shielding packaging material. Carbon fibers were cut into 5, 10, and 15 mm using the automatic cutting device and blown and dispersed using compression air passed through the fine nozzle. Then carbon fibers were slurried with water (0.1% consistency), and softwood kraft pulp along with cone starch were added. The wet mats were manufactured by dewatering in modified hand-sheet machine. The wet mats were pressed upto $4kgf/cm^2$ in the carbon and wood fiber mixture mat press. The wet mats were dried in the automatic controlled plate dryer. Investigation on the formation and surface structure of the newly developed carbon and wood fiber mixture electromagnetic shielding sheet were carried out using the scanning electron microscopy and the image analyzer. Finally electromagnetic shielding characteristics of the newly developed carbon and wood mixture sheet were measured using net-work analyser. The result was promising in the light of the fact that this method could open a new way to substitute the expensive imported electromagnetic shielding sheet.

  • The optimized sheet for EMI shielding was prepared by metal power with Fe series. Then various metal powders were deposited on the sheet by PVD method. Moreover, the PVdF nanofiber membrane was used to compare the characteristic of EMI shielding efficiency of various metal powders. The electrical property was measured by the 4-point probe method. The result from EDS confirmed that the metal powder existed on the sheet. EMI shielding efficiency was analysed by EMI shielding measurement apparatus. The lowest electrical resistance, $641.95{\Omega}{wcdot}cm$, was obtained with $1000\;{\AA}$ deposition of Cu on the sheet. It was revealed that the EMI shielding efficiency increased with increase of the metal deposition thickness. The sheet deposited by Cu with $1000\;{\AA}$ showed the highest EMI shielding efficiency, 32.5 dB.

  • Recently, radiation shielding sheets made of eco-friendly materials have been widely used in medical institutions. The shielding sheet is processed into a solid form by thermoforming by mixing a shielding material with a polymer material. The base is resin-based and has a limit in tensile strength, and for this purpose, fibers such as non-woven fabrics are used on the surface. The shielding sheet process technology has a problem in that the tensile strength rapidly decreases when the content of the shielding material is increased to increase the shielding performance. In order to improve this, this study intends to compare and evaluate the method of laminating and coating the fibers in the sheet process. In comparison of the three types of sheets, there was no difference in shielding performance between the fiber-coated sheet and the compression sheet, but there was a large difference in tensile strength.

  • In order to manufacture a lightweight medical radiation shielding sheet, a new shielding material was studied. We tried to verify the possibility of a shielding material by mixing egg shell powder, which is thrown away as food waste at home, with a polymer material. Existing lightweight materials satisfy eco-friendly conditions, but there are difficulties in the economics of shielding materials due to the cost of the material refining process. This study aims to solve this problem by using egg shells, which are household waste. A 3 mm-thick shielding sheet was fabricated using HDPE, a polymer material, and particle distribution within the cross-section of the shielding sheet was also verified. The shape of the particles was rough and there were voids between the particles, and the average weight per unit area was 1.5 g/cm2. The shielding performance was around 20% in the low energy area and 10% in the high energy area, showing the possibility of a low-dose medical radiation shielding body.

  • This study investigated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of hybrid conductive fabrics. The coaxial transmission line method was used to measure the EMI Shielding effectiveness of the conductive fabrics. We designed and constructed a measuring system, consisting of a network analyzer and a device that serves as a sample holder and at the same time as a transmission medium of incident electromagnetic waves. The measurements of SE were carried out in a frequency range from 100 MHz to 2 GHz. The results of the EMI shielding experiments showed that the maximum electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) values of sandwich type C/A/C (carbon fiber sheet/aluminum foil tape/carbon fiber sheet) and C/Ni/C (carbon fiber sheet/magnetic shielding foil/carbon fiber sheet) samples were 55 dB and 113 dB, respectively, at a frequency of 1.9 GHz.

  • The modifier proposed in this research is for enhancing the affinity of the glass component with the high polymer resin and the molecular weight. The particle packing, tensile strength and shielding performance of the shielding sheet made of the tungsten oxide were evaluated. The best effect can be obtained when 20% of the modifier PMMA used to improve the shielding performance and maintain the affinity and strength with the sealant is mixed. The fusion of the materials presented in this study and the mass production of the shielding sheet through the modifier are possible and will contribute to the production of lightweight shielding sheets in the future.

  • Most of radiation protection clothing is made of lead with excellent radiation shielding because it has excellent process ability and economic efficiency and has a high atomic number. However, lead is classified as a hazardous heavy metal, and there is a risk of lead poisoning. Recently, research to replace lead has been actively conducted. In this study, a research on a shielding sheet with improved physical properties while maintaining the radiation shielding ability equivalent to that of conventional materials by mixing two materials that are harmless to the human body, such as BaSO4 and Bi2O3, and a silicone material binder Was performed. For comparison evaluation with the existing lead shielding sheet, the shielding rate was evaluated using a 40 degree shielding sheet having the highest porosity. As a result, it was analyzed that the shielding rate was superior to 9 % or more at the same thickness. In addition, as a result of studies to improve the physical properties of the shielding sheet, it was analyzed that the shielding sheet mixed with BaSO4/nylon/Bi2O3 was the best.

  • Radiation shielding of affinity material, which is widely used in medical institutions, is made in sheet form and is mainly applied to apron. Shielding performance is presented based on lead equivalent, and is presented as 0.25-0.50mmPb. In the case of shielding materials where lead is used as the main material, the shielding performance can be adjusted by thickness due to the excellent machinability of lead. However, eco-friendly shielding sheets are difficult to control shielding performance based on thickness criteria as shielding performance varies depending on the content of shielding materials, the properties of polymeric materials that are base materials, and the technical differences in the process. In this study, shielding sheets were manufactured based on thickness to solve these problems and the shielding performance was compared in this study. As a result, it was shown that the laminated structure shielding sheet was more effective.

  • Electrical appliances such as audiovisual equipment and personal computers have recently had heat and electromagnetic problems. In order to solve those problems, 'High heat absorbing pre-painted steel sheet (hereinafter referred to as PSS)', 'High electromagnetic shielding PSS' and 'High heat absorbing and high electromagnetic shielding PSS' have been developed. In this paper, the heat characteristics and electromagnetic shielding properties of PSS are investigated by methods that use enclosures and their mechanisms are discussed. It was found that 'High heat absorbing PSS' and 'High heat absorbing and high electromagnetic shielding PSS'could reduce the heat problem. The mechanism of the heat characteristics was presumed for the high heat absorptivity of the back coating inside the enclosure. And it was also found that 'High electromagnetic shielding PSS' and 'High heat absorbing and high electromagnetic shielding PSS' could shield electromagnetic waves well. The mechanism of the electromagnetic shielding properties was considered for the low transfer impedance of the back coating inside the enclosure. 'High heat absorbing PSS' and 'High electromagnetic shielding PSS' have been adopted as materials for electrical appliances and 'High electromagnetic shielding and high heat absorbing PSS' have been tested for that purpose.
