The rapid growth of IT technologies enables the quality of human's daily life to be improved dramatically, Contrasting to the services in previous computing environment directed by user's request, the services in ubiquitous computing era of new IT technology are provided through recognizing users intention and utilizing context-aware information suited to the user. According to the contextual information, agents need to set a dynamic goal to achieve and work collaboratively with other agents. Agents that take control over their behaviors with capability of communicating with other agents become a thrust in this up-coming computing environment. This work focuses on building ontologies, shared knowledge bases among agents, to improve semantical interoperability among agents. More attention is given to the construction and effective management of ontology repository along with its requirement and organization. Ontology agent suggested takes an initiative role to manage the repository in a distributed manner and to facilitate the use of ontology in a multi-agent environment.
For sharing XML data by many users, a way of concurrency and access control is required for isolating update actions such as inserting and deleting subtrees. Exisiting locking mechanisms as 2PL or MGL suffer low concurrency when applied to tree structures. In this paper, list data subtrees model is proposed based on the semantics expressed in DTD. In this model, tree updating actions such as inserting and deleting subtrees are considered only for the repetitive parts of XML trees. The proposed model guarantees that the result XML tree after applying a tree updating action is always valid, even when multiple users access the tree at the same time. Also, a new locking mechanism called list lock-ing protocol is proposed. The new locking protocol is expected to show better accessility with less number of locking objects compared to the Helmer's OO2PL model. Since update actions on a shared XML tree usually applied to the repetitive parts of the tree, the proposed model is expected to provide a useful way for efficient data sharing when combined with previous locking methods on terminal node data.

The channel allocation strategy is very important in wireless multimedia networks since the mobility of users needs to be considered in addition to diversity of QoS requirements of multimedia traffic. A existing strategy to decrease the probability of handoff failure is guard channel method, which reserves channels at each base station for handoff calls. In this paper, we propose an efficient channel allocation strategy based on the prioritization of handoff calls used in the guard channel method. In the Proposed strategy guard channels are shared between non-real time and real time handoff calls. To decrease the probability of handoff failure, (when resources become scarce), the Call Admission Control takes some resources away from the active calls. The simulation results demonstrate that the Proposed strategy Provides higher channel utilization and lower probability of handoff failure than those of existing strategies.
A family resilience approach aims to identify and fortify key interactional processes that enable families to withstand and rebound from disruptive life challenges. Walsh(1998) described family belief systems, organizational patterns, and communication processes as the three main keys of family resilience. The purpose of this study was to identify the three key factors of family resilience in case of divorced female single-parent families in Korea. The study participants were seven divorced mothers who were living in the institutional facility for female single-parent families. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were audiotaped and transcribed verbatim for analysis. The study findings were as follows. First, the participants showed positive thinking rather than fear about the adversity induced by the divorce. They also showed the senses of competence, control, and self-esteem. However, the senses of transcendence and spirituality were barely evident. Second, emotional and economic supports from parents, brothers and sisters, and community networks (i.e., mother-child protection institution, healthy family support center) enhanced the family resilience of the participants. Third, the participants showed clear communication, open emotional expression, and shared decision making. This study suggests that more counseling services and parent education be provided by healthy family support center and institutional facilities as important family resilience factors for divorced female single-parent families who are below the poverty line.

As increasing the number of IPs integrated in a single chip and requiring high communication bandwidth on a chip, the trend of SoC communication architecture is changed from bus- or crossbar-based architecture to packet switched network architecture, NoC. However, highly complex control logics in routers require multiple cycles to switch packet. In this paper, we design low complex router to improve the communication latency. Our NoC design is verified by simulation platform modeled by ESL tool, SoC Designer. We also evaluate our NoC design comparing to the previous NoC architecture based on VC router. Our results show that our NoC architecture has less communication latency, even small throughput degradation (about 1-2%).

We have developed a scheduling system for heavy ion radiotherapy considering the condition of three treatment rooms and treatment planning for each patient. This system consists of a database (patient information, treatment method and machine schedule), a schedule for radiotherapy and WEB server. All operation of this system, such as data input, to change and to view the schedule, are performed by using a WEB browser. In order to protect personal information for the patients, access privilege to each information are limited by according to the occupational category. This system is connected with a hospital central information management system (AMIDAS) and an irradiation-managing computer for the heavy ion radiotherapy. A basic information for the patient is got from AMIDAS and the daily schedule sends to the treatment control computer at each treatment room through the irradiation-managing computer every morning. The daily, weekly, monthly schedules in the treatment room and the treatment condition of each patient are shared on the WEB browser with the all participants of the heavy ion therapy. This system could be useful to save a time to generate a treatment schedule and to inform us the most up-to-date treatment schedule and the related information at the same time.

In this paper, we propose an efficient integer inverse transform structure for vp9 decoder. The proposed structure is a hardware structure which is easy to control and requires less hardware resources, and shares algorithms for realizing entire DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform), ADST(Asymmetric Discrete Sine Transform) and WHT(Walsh-Hadamard Transform) in vp9. The integer inverse transform for vp9 google model has a fast structure, named butterfly structure. The integer inverse transform for google C model, unlike universal fast structure, takes a constant rounding shift operator on each stage and includes an asymmetrical sine transform structure. Thus, the proposed structure approximates matrix coefficient values for all transform mode and is used to matrix operation method. With the proposed structure, shared operations for all inverse transform algorithm modes can be possible with reduced number of multipliers compared to the butterfly structure, which in turn manages the hardware resources more efficiently.

CSMA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access) is a media access control protocol when nodes use a shared channel. To reduce the probability of collision and increase the performance, the station lust checks the state of the channel. In this paper, we study the performance improvement method based on p-persistent strategy. The p-persistent method reduces the chance of collision and improves the efficiency. However, a probability p and the number of station affect the performance. This paper proposes a dynamic CSMA multiple access based on the network status. If the possibility of collision is low, the station increases the probability p to improve the performance. In the opposite case, the station decreases the probability p. Our simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms any methods of CSMA multiple access according to the current persistent strategy.
An extensive study of the vegetation characteristics of the Hamersley Ranges, a mountainous desert area of north-west Australia, facilitated the comparison of plant species diversity measures with mountainous deserts of other parts of the world. Alpha diversity was defined as the number of species co-existing at local scales and was found to average 18 species per 0.1 ha for the Hamersley Ranges. This was found to be similar to seven other mountainous deserts in North and South America, and southern Africa. Variation in alpha diversity between these deserts was found to considerably lower than within deserts, suggesting that local processes control species richness at local scales. Beta diversity, defined here as turnover in species composition at various spatial scales, can be measured in many ways. For the Hamersley Ranges, Wilson's β ranged from 1.2 to 1.6 for five sites along a topographic gradient, whereas Whittaker's β between different plant communities was found to average 0.93. Comparable data was not found for other desert areas, but comparisons to non-desert areas suggest beta diversity within landscapes is relatively high and is likely to reflect the considerable landform heterogeneity of the Hamersley Ranges. 55∼70% of species were shared between different landscapes of the Hamersley Ranges; comparisons to other regions suggest beta diversity at this scale is relatively low. Gamma diversity, the number of species over large spatial extents, was successfully compared using regression analysis of the log-log species - area relationship. This revealed that the northern Sonoran desert has significantly less species than the Nama (inland) Karoo and Hamersley Ranges over medium spatial extents, but species numbers were similar at a regional scale. Several constraints to the valid comparison of species diversity were identified, including lack of standardisation of sampling techniques, the wide range of measures employed, general lack of published data, and the influence of the various components of spatial scale on most diversity measures. Recommendations on how to improve future comparative work are provided.
Background: The overall cervical cancer incidence rate is low in Iran; however, because of a higher risk of death for cervical cancer, a disease that kills women in middle age, a cervical cancer control program is needed. The aim of this study was to provide consensus recommendation for cervical cancer prevention in Iran and other Muslim societies with low incidences of cervical cancer. Materials and Methods: Through a practical guideline development cycle, we developed six questions that were relevant to produce the recommendation. We reviewed 190 full text records of cervical cancer in Iran (1971 to 2013) of which 13 articles were related to the data needed to answer the recommendation questions. We also reviewed World Health Organization, IARC, GLOBOCAN report, Iran Ministry of Health cancer registry report and 8 available foreign countries guidelines. Lastly, we also evaluated the Pap smear results of 825 women who participated in the Iranian HPV survey, of whom 328 were followed-up after a 5-year interval. Results: The obtained data highlighted the burden of HPV and cervical cancer situation in Iran. Experts emphasized the necessity of a cervical cancer screening program for Iranian women, and recommended an organized screening program with a cytological evaluation (Pap smear) that would start at the age of 30 years, repeated every 5 years, and end at the age of 69 years. Meanwhile, there is no need for screening among women with a hysterectomy, and screening should be postponed to post-partum among pregnant women. Conclusions: An organized cervical cancer screening is a necessity for Iran as more than 500-900 women in middle age diagnosed with an invasive cervical cancer every year cannot be ignored. This recommendation should be taken into account by the National Health System of Iran and Muslim countries with shared culture and behavior patterns. CUBA HPV test could be consideration in countries Muslim country with appropriate budget, resources and facility.
