Second, total score of coping behavior was lower than median. The score of female students positive coping was significantly higher than males, and that of mate students' avoidance coping was significantly higher than females. Third, the violence style varied with sex, altitude toward violence, anti-communication, and conflict. etc. Fourth, the positive coping behavior varied with victim response and victimization of physical violence. etc. The avoidance coping behavior varied with sex, age, grade, sex-role attitude, and partner's sexual violence. etc. ruth, the positive coping behavior was influenced by sex, partner's psychological violence, conflict, anti-communication. etc. The avoidance coping behavior was influenced by sex and grade.
This study has verified the process of helping actors recognize their sexual problems linked to sexual violence cases through early sexual experience history, and exploring and insighting the stuck feelings of sexual violence actors through psychodrama, which focuses on expressing behavior and emotions. The research questions were divided into sexual violence cases and perceptions of actors, actual insights through psychodrama, and dealt with past biblical history related to actors' events and events, exploration of childhood trauma, and insights and changes in emotions through psychodrama. The results from the study are as follows. First, they showed low self-understanding levels and frequent use of defense mechanisms against sexual violence cases in an environment related to cases involving sexual offenders, and were aware of the problematic factors affecting the cases in the course of their daily lives, but did not take them seriously. Second, there were many distorted masculinity and adult sites related to participants' biblical experience history. In the early experience of sexual activity, it was often viewed as a sexual object rather than an emotional exchange with a lover, and the contents of the initial Bible experience were linked to actual sexual violence cases committed by participants. Third, childhood trauma of participants through psychodrama led to rapidly changing family circumstances and abuse by fathers. Fourth, the actual content of emotions represented by anger in the early stages of psychodrama is meaningful in that it revealed the process of sadness, pain, regret and longing for a departing mother leading to objective insight into emotions through the catharsis process.
Violence against women includes sexual violence, domestic violence, trafficking, etc. It is a serious problem that violates women's rights and basic freedom. In Korea, with the enactment of the laws on sexual violence and domestic violence in the 1990s, counseling centers and protective facilities for the victims began to be established and have been rapidly increasing in number recently. The purpose of this research was to investigate the current status of the counseling services with a focus on their linkage function. 78 out of 109 counselors working in the counseling centers for sexual and domestic violence throughout Korea responded to a mail survey. The questions included the general characteristics of the centers and the counselors, the structural, relationship and process dimensions of linkage function, and the subjective and objective aspects of the degree of linkage. The findings of the analysis highlighted the following problems. First, the counseling centers played limited role in serving the victims of violence due to lack of resources in the service network. Second, the linkage of services existed on a relatively small scale which was mostly based upon informal and unstructured relationship. Third, according to the multivariate analysis, the existence of potential partner agencies, the effort of the line staff to initiate the linkage relationship and mutual cooperation between agencies determined the degree of linkage among services. These findings suggest implications for establishing a more effective system to protect the victims of violence.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of dating violence and to determine what variables served as predicting indicators among unmarried cortege students. The major findings were as follows; 1. Those who inflicted psychological aggression of the sample were 69%, physical violence 40%, and sexual violence 23%. As the sample indicates, dating violence among college students is a distribingly common phenomenon. 2. Both sexes reciprocally inflicted psychological aggression and physical violence. But males were more likely to inflict sexual violence and injury to their parkers. 3. Significant predictors of dating violence for both males and females were conflicts in the dating relationship, and a need to control one's partner. Despite the overlap of predictors for males and females, enough differences were found to warrant gender-specific models of dating violence. For males, violence experienced during childhood from their father was an important factor, while for females, school violence was an important factor.
Purpose: For the current article an examination was done as to whether engaging in sexual intercourse before or during adolescence has a negative impact on the suicidal behaviors of suicide ideation, suicide attempt, and suicide lethality and whether the impact varies according to the context of sexual intercourse and/or gender. Methods: Adolescents who experienced casual sex and romantic sex were compared to adolescents who retained their virginity. Data was from samples drawn from the three waves (2010~2012) of the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey. Logistic models were used to adjust for a wide array of confounding variables. Results: Any type of sexual intercourse increases risk of all suicidal behaviors. Sexual intercourse in a romantic relationship exhibits enhanced risk of suicidal behaviors compared to casual sex. Adjusting for experience of sexual violence, however, decreases risk of romantic sex substantially, turning some estimates statistically insignificant. In addition, risks for suicide lethality are greater for girls than boys. Conclusion: Romantic sex put adolescents at higher risk for suicidal behaviors than casual sex owing to prevalent sexual violence in the relationships. Girls suffer more substantively adverse outcomes than boys. These results suggest that adolescents will benefit from comprehensive education on sexuality and sexual behaviors regarding how to form and maintain a romantic relationship that is characterized by personal integrity and mutual respect. It is also important to help victims of sexual violence recover from traumatic events by providing emotional support and effective counseling.
This study examined sexual violence characteristics among the individuals who utilized victim support services provided by National Rape Crisis Intervention Centers in Korea. The study is the part of a Korean longitudinal study on sexual assault characteristics and its implications for post-abuse adjustments, which is supported by Korean Mental Health Technology R&D Project. Eleven national rape crisis centers nationwide and 29 NGO's participated in the study. The participating centers provided the data on sexual abuse characteristics from their standardized case management system. The cases were randomly selected from the system. Total of 1077 cases were gleaned from the system and utilized for this analysis. Results indicated that the abuse characteristics differed by victims' age (children, adolescent vs. adults) as well as relationship with perpetrator. We could identify six different profile groups based on the detailed violence characteristics. The results assured us of the importance to understand the detailed characteristics of sexual violence and the old notion that 'one size may not fit all'. The results from the profile analyses may have important implication for developing victim support programs and appropriately allocating agency resources according to the different profiles of the service users.

Considering the recent increase in the number of sexual violence survivors, there is an urgent need to develop content for the training of professional workers to support victims. The purposes of this research are: (1) to investigate the status of existing training programs designed to produce workers to support sexual violence victims; (2) to conduct focus group interviews with 19 workers regarding their training needs; (3) to conduct a national-wide survey with 800 workers; and (4) to carry out a delphi study with 20 sexual violence professionals in regard to the topics and methods of training. According to the survey of practice workers, the areas of greatest need include the understanding of client characteristics, multidisciplinary approaches in training, and strengthening of basic training. The delphi study of professionals revealed the need for counseling skills, understanding the psychology of sexual violence victims, and skills to provide emotional support for victims. Based on these findings, this research suggests training content designed to provide support services customized to the types and characteristics of individual survivors.

The purpose of this study was to investigate males' and females 'experiences of violence and to determine what variables served as predicting indicators among unmarried college students. The major findings were as follows; 1. Those who sustained psychological agression were 61% physical violence 43% and sexual violence 22% As the sample indicates victimization of dating violence among college students is a common phenomenon.2. More males sustained the severe from of physical violence and the sexual violence than females did while both sexes reciprocally sustained psychological aggression. 3. For males significant predictors of sustaining dating violence were conflicts inthe dating relationship and witness of interparental aggression while for females conflicts in the dating relationship a need to control one's partner and school violence served as significant predictors.
This study aims to find out the determinants of male police officers' investigative behavior(active investigation vs. secondary victimization) of sexual violence. For this purpose, a hypothetical model which explains the relationships among the 5 variables (knowledge of law about the investigative role, perception of the protective & connective role, prejudice against the sexual violence, active investigation, and secondary victimization) was developed. Using the data collected from 354 male police officers of 3 cities in Gyeongnam area, the hypothetical model was tested. For data analysis, a structural equation modeling was used, and the final model was found(CFI=0.947, IFI=0.948, RMSEA=0.048). As a result of analyzing the model, the followings were found: (1) Active investigation was increased by knowledge of law about the investigative role, and perception of the protective & connective role, while decreased by prejudice against the sexual violence. (2) Secondary vicimization was decreased by knowledge of law about the investigative role. (3) Prejudice against the sexual violence mediate the effects of knowledge of law about the investigative role, and perception of the protective & connective role on active investigation. (4) Prejudice against the sexual violence was found to have no significant effect on secondary victimization. Based on the findings, multi-educational programs, protocols on investigation of sexual violence, professionalization of the police, and changes in investigation environment as well as a system of collaboration and cooperation between police officer and social worker were suggested as a way to increase active investigation and to decrease secondary victimization.
