  • Client-Sever-Comptuing is now recognized as the most powerful and flexible computing mode of the future.Many companies have already commited significant amount of their corporate IS resources to building the cli-ent-server computing environment.Despite this active interst and commitment,however,results from such cli-ent-sever projects are far from being convincing Among the many factors,we suspect,we supect that the less than less than satisfac-tory client-server experiences are perhaps due to the company's lack of underxtanding its essertial information processing characteristics.We analyze five client-server archiedctures in temrs of seven IS-related crieria.We then develop a contin-gency model to match company's information processing chracteristics to the ideal client-server architecture for the firm.Based on the client-server architecture analysis from the previous step. we recommend specific im-plementation strategies for each-server architecture selected. Finally,on an exploratory level,we look into the three client-server implmentation cases to cases to check the validity of our contingency model.

Piroplasma Infections of Canadian Cows Imported to Kyungpuk, Korea (경북지방(慶北地方)에 수입(輸入)된 CANADA 산(産) 유우(乳牛)의 Piroplasma 감염피해(感染被害)에 관(關)한 조사보고(調査報告))

  • A survey on the piroplasma infections for Canadian cows imparted from November 1968 to June 1969 to Kyungpuk, Korea was conducted by means of enumeration of erythrocytes and examination of Giemsa staining blood films from the cows and their calves. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. So-called small type piroplasma (Theileria) infections were suspected in almost all of imported cows and their calves during their first pasture season and mixed infections with so-called large type piroplasma (Babesia) or Eperythrozoon wenyoni were detected in some cows and calves. 2. Fever, anorexia, depression, marked decreased milk production, sever anemia and jundice were observed in the imported cows with havy infection of so-called small type piroplasma (Theileria). And the piroplasma infection was most important cause of deaths of imported cows. 3. Sever anemia, malnutrition and poor growth were observed in many calves from imported cows with havy infection of so-called small type piroplasma(Theileria). 4. Good results were obtained in treating cattle acutely ill with so-called small type piroplasmosis by injection of pamaquine but they may need scond injection 3 to 4 weeks after the first treatment for reapperence of the piroplasma in the erythrocytes.

  • Today, information resource management is key task in the data-centre as like as NCIA(National computing integration Agency of Korea). In IRM, the server's performance is one of the core elements, it must be importantly managed during whole of system life cycle. As first step of such management is in purchase phase, it is very important that the optimum specification is determined. The server's specification contains such as performance of core, criteria for performance verification, minimum cores, etc. There is constant controversy concerning the minimum cores. In this article, we present criteria for determination of the minimum cores that considered three aspects: (1) Costly aspect as TCO(Total Cost of Ownership, (2) Environmental aspect as Green IT (3) Technical aspect as RAS(Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) functionality. Finally, we propose scheme to ideally determinate the minimum cores.

  • This study aimed at monitoring, mapping, and assessing the land degradation in the desert area. In this research, the Landsat TM and ETM+ imageries to assess the extent of land degradation for study area during the period from 1991 to 2007. Were used to study supervized, unsupervized classfication and NDVI land cover changes in the desert area in Mongolia. The classified map consists of five classes of water, vegetation, slight desertification, middle desertification and sever desertification. It shows that for determination classfication methods and NDVI, desertification map of the study area are prepared. The result showed accounting for a clear deterioration in vegetative cover, an increase of sever desertification and a decrease in middle desertification and slight desertification respectively of the total study area.

  • In this study, IT based traceability system which is able to measure weight and moisture content of grain in the post-harvest process of intake, drying, storage and milling was developed in RPC(Rice processing complex). Measured information of weight, moisture content, yield, loss and quality was saved in the DB sever. Simultaneously, lot No. was generated and connecting to quality and traceability information. Also, automatic control system with MMI(Man Machine Interface) and yield and inventory control system(YICS) for grain was developed for the traceability system by applying the TCP/IP communication. In addition, simulation of system was performed for evaluation in RPC.

  • This paper introduces implementation of a traffic distributed processing system on the Web Sever Networking. The study used two software packages (Packet Capture and Round-Robin Test Package) to check packet quantity from Virtual Network Structure (data generator, virtual server, Serve. 1, 2, 3), and could find out traffic distribution toward Server 1, 2, and 3. The functions of implemented Round-Robin Load Balancing Monitoring System include Round-Robin testing, system monitoring, and graphical indication of data transmission/packet quantity (figures & diagram). As the result of the study shows, Round-Robin Algorithm ensured definite traffic distribution, unless incoming data loads differ much. Although error levels were high in some cases, they were eventually alleviated by repeated tests for a long period of time.

A New Gerbera Cultivar 'Lovely Moon' : High-yielding Cultivar with Yellow and Semi-double for Cut-flower (대륜계통의 황색 반겹꽃 절화용 다수성 거베라 신품종 'Lovely Moon')

  • A new gerbera cultivar 'Lovely Moon' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2008. A cross was made between 'Sever Line' and 'Angel' with yellow and semi-double flower in 2005. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2005 to 2008), it was selected specially for the use of cut flowers. 'Lovely Moon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow (RHS Y13B), yellow green center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 12.7 cm, a large flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 6.10 cm and 2.80 cm, respectively. It produces a large number of flowers with continuous supply of flowers and has a long peduncle height. We believe that 'Lovely Moon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farm income.

Sever Selection Schemes Considering Node Status For a Fault-Tolerant Streaming Service on a Peer-to-Peer Network

  • Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks are attracting considerable research interest because of their scalability and high performance relative to cost. One of the important services on a P2P network is the streaming service. However, because each node in the P2P network is autonomous, it is difficult to provide a stable streaming service on the network. Therefore, for a stable streaming service on the P2P network, a fault-tolerant scheme must be provided. In this paper, we propose two new node selection schemes, Playback Node First (PNF) and Playback Node first with Prefetching (PNF-P) that can be used for a service migration-based fault-tolerant streaming service. The proposed schemes exploit the fact that the failure probability of a node currently being served is lower than that of a node not being served. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes outperform traditional node selection schemes.

Comparison a Forest Fire Spread variation according to weather condition change (기후조건 변화에 따른 산불확산 변화 비교)

  • We simulated a forest fire which was occurred in Yangyang area on 2005 and compared a results between two different weather conditions(real weather condition and mean weather condition since 1968) using FARSITE, which is a forest fire spread simulator for preventing and predicting fire in USDA. And, we researched a problem in the transition for introducing, so we serve the basic method for prevention and attacking fire. In the result, severe weather condition on 2005 effected a forest fire behavior. The rate of spread under real weather condition was about 4 times faster than mean weather condition. Damaged area was about 10 time than mean weather condition. Therefore, Climate change will make a more sever fire season. As we will encounter to need for accurate prediction in near future, it will be necessary to predict a forest fire linked with future wether and fuel condition.

  • This paper presents the construction algorithm of the irreducible polynomial which needs to multiply over GF(2$\^$m/) and the flow chart representing the proposed algorithm has been proposed. And also, we get the degree from the value of xm+k formation to the value of k = 7 using the proposed flow chart. The multiplier circuit has been implemented by using the proposed irreducible polynomial generation(IPG) algorithm in this paper, and we compared the proposed circuit with the conventional one. In the case of k = 7, one AND gate and five Ex-or gates are needed as the delay time for the irreducible polynomial in the proposed algorithm, but seven AND gates and sever Ex-or gates in the conventional one. As a result, the proposed algorithm shows the improved performance on the delay time.
